The video has EVERYTHING to do with the Gear Daddies. It is the road I used to drive. The conditions are the same. Hug the center. Look for deer. Minnesota at it's core.
I like how the camera jiggles when he hits those small drifts on the right hand side. It has been at least 25 years since I had to drive through such white knuckle conditions. Though in retrospect, I wouldn't think much of the conditions of this video. BTW, Gear Daddies Statue of Jesus has always been a favorite song... Thanks for the video!
I can't see a hockey game w/o thinking about the Geardaddies (zamboni song), so having played that, I came across this fine song. So many memories of this band with the SF,SD music scene. Plus, I haven't seen winter weather like that in years! Thanks for the video. It was fitting. :)
I think its an awesome video. Great job. This song was my themesong forawhile in the early 90's!!! Thanks to Leslie, the most beautiful bar maid that ever worked at the Art Bar in Columbia, SC. Good night, m'lady. Wherever you may be now!!!
I actually feel the poetry of the video imagining the "Statue of Jesus" stuck to the dashboard. Seriously makes sense in a "Minnesota passed out behind the wheel" kinda way ...
I was in Stationed in Germany when I was introduced to these guys. Everytime I hear them I always think of Beautiful Augsburg and Zum Bayern Kini. They played my cd for me and my friends when we went there. It's too bad they're not still making music...or are they?
Thank you! I've been looking for this for a while now. Didn't think Marty & Co. we're big enough for YT. this was on an album... Does anybody know the name of that album? Even better, where to find a copy!
I was just looking thru these comments & got a kick (again) out of your comment. I was handed this music back in the early 90's. My Nephew went to college in Bloomington Il. & someone there was a big fan. Right away my Nephew knew these guys were making MY music. I have loved them since 2 seconds after pushing that CD into the player. Your 1st comment, 11 years ago, still cracks me up. .... now it's "Alexa, play the Geardaddies". Take care.
I think that is bull shit yes this is in southeast iowa on the way back to mn (an hour south of chicago plz) anyhow yeah sitting downtown crying with the statue of jesus ............austin mn st augustines church
Austin Minnesota. Skateboarding listing to the Gear Daddys playing in their garage. Good times. Great music.
That's awesome. Great music indeed.
Back in the 90s and early 2000s Austin was a cool place to grow up.
Looks like a good old fashioned winter in the 80s when I would see these guys at the Red Carpet. Better days, better winters.
Dude, the video is perfect for the song.

Same feeling here......hug the center, look for deer.....rubber side down. Love it.
Looks to be 218 to me.

Listened to these guys in college at ISU. Man I love this song.
Me too! ISU ❤
love the video - great complement to this song. I'm a fargo native and have driven hundreds of such roads - Thanks!
Thank you. I'm glad you liked it, and it's VERY COOL that it brought back a memory for you.

Actually, this fits the song perfectly. Especially if you wake with a hangover and watch it.

Coen Brothers country in more ways than one.

you had me fooled-- i thought it was 218 myself (which is a good thing, even if you weren't going for it). :)

It was on "Let's go scare Al" A quick search shows there are some available on Ebay.
Where's the crash? I haven't been this disappointed since after I watched "The Wolf of Wall Street" and I didn't see any wolves.
Still here…
