Thank you very much Saro for evaluating Boomer. Based on your advice we sealed off part of upstairs and downstairs which limits Boomer about to 50% of the house using baby gates. This keeps him out of the laundry room and all the kids room which now strongly inhibits him from finding most things that he used to be chewing on. We rubbed soap on the furniture that he still has access to and I've started doing daily outside runs with him. I'll definitely implement a better routine following your recommended 5 dailies and also the play and praise system. I definitely recommend getting in touch with Saro if you have any questions. Also love how you created a video out of the footage we had available.
I have a german shepherd mixed breed, she 15 weeks, she whines, bark and scratches at the door when you close it. I close it because she tends to chew on everything she can get to. Whenever I take her out she doesn’t want to use it outside, as soon as she comes in she pooping and peeing on the floor. Love your videos by the way❤️ keep them coming

My 8 month old Pitbul Persa Cane mix chews up everything. Even with crate training. He recently chewed his harness while in the cage. I used the spray and it works on the things it was sprayed on but now he’s going for things that I can’t spray.
I understand your frustration with your puppy's chewing behavior. It's not uncommon for puppies to explore the world through chewing, and some are more prone to it than others. Here are a few suggestions to help address this issue: Provide Appropriate Chew Toys: Make sure your puppy has a variety of safe and durable chew toys. Kong toys, and other tough, puppy-friendly toys can keep him engaged. Supervision: Whenever your puppy is out of the crate, keep a close eye on him. This way, you can redirect him to his toys if he starts to chew something he shouldn't. Increase Exercise and Mental Stimulation: Make sure your puppy is getting plenty of physical exercise and mental stimulation. A tired dog is less likely to engage in destructive behavior. Consult a Veterinarian: Sometimes, excessive chewing can be a sign of underlying health issues or anxiety. If the behavior continues, consult your veterinarian to rule out any medical causes.
Glad I come across your videos I’m having trouble with my American bully he just started chewing the wood from the bed what can I do to stop this before it gets worst?
Provide more mental and physical stimulation and focus on providing it's daily five essential needs which I explain in the following video: ua-cam.com/video/7PLTj5zNSVw/v-deo.html
my problem with my dog is that he does his things at night when people are asleep and whats even worse is that he doesn't just chew stuff like wood sticks he never touches even are furniture but he loves shoes cap plant and pots. we let him sleep outside and hes got plenty of space and we even bought a toy for him but still he likes those stuffs on the shelves hanger and stuff that you dont want him to mess with. Sometimes at night youll hear him crying cause he want something hanging on the wall that he cant reach. It seems like he have a standard on what to chew on.
Soooo my puppy can NOT stop eating the carpet.. We have a hand made carpet that he has almost ruined it and my mum is freaking out. I’m scared that she’ll return him and I would really appreciate a piece of advice
Provide other activities for your puppy such as play with other dogs and such. Provide chew toys of your puppy. Also, try to confide your puppy as much as needed.
Very Good information. I don't have a dog with bad chewing habits at this time but I have in the past. I am definitely subscribing to see what you have in the future that I may be able to use on my 2 Shih Tzu.
Thank you for subscribing. I have many videos in my channel that may be useful and also, I am so excited about the videos that I have planed for the future. You'll love them.
Thanks for the advice! I work a split shift so my puppy is 3 months she is free everywhere but my room and bathroom when I am gone for almost 5 hours in the morning and 3 hours when I go back to work she has been chewing the corner walls and tearing some the carpet. I’m afraid of leaving her in a crate bcos I have carpet and don’t won’t her tracking her poop on carpet and barking a lot bcos the leasing office is not making me pay pet deposit unless a complaint about dog barking too much . What should I do
She's chewing from boredom. I would advise getting someone during your shift to come by and exercise your dog for at least 45 to an hour. The chewing will subside and she is also teething so that doesn't help.
I have a 6 month Chorkie/papillon mix. He chews on everything. I bought him an abundance of chew toys, while he does chew on them he chews on everything else. My trim on my walls, my clothes, my shoes, my chair, puppy pads and those are expensive. He chewed my cord to my laptop. Please help I keep correcting him with what I was told but he will stop with that and move onto the next something to chew. It’s frustrating. I need to teach him sit and stay, also.
I too chew on stuff when bored! But how do I keep him from trying to get off collar and I think he chewed on my sisters phone. I might just get him a shock collar
Provide other activities for your puppy such as play with other dogs and such. Provide chew toys of your puppy. Also, try to confide your puppy as much as needed.
Thank you my pup was excellent but he so spoiled it's unbelievable! 5mo he goes every single place we go he has never been left alone I can't believe him we have bought every chew toy the spray stuff the spray stuff doesn't phase him
Make sure to also keep your area clean and Minimize things on the floor. It helps dog find less oppurtunities to chew unless something is given to them to chew
I just got a dog yesterday it's a Siberian husky his name is Winter he never let's his guard down and he always lays downs whenever if he makes a slight movement he just got a bath today does that mean it's just out of laziness? can u help me sir, ive got a dog, hes a 14months old male american pitbull. he's so well behave when we are around despite of it he's lazy when we want to play with him, but when we are not looking or not around with him, he will shred everything he saw, like shoes, shoe rack, plants even our christmas decors that we wonder how he got it. can you give me tips or advice to make him behave when we are not around. he already destroyed 4 pairs of shoes so far.
How do I crate train a shelter dog that I’ve adopted who has separation anxiety? He’s scared of the crate (understandably) and doesn’t like it being shut. Even if I’m right next to it he hates being locked in. I’ve tried 2 different methods and neither are working.
Don't rush to get results right away. Your rescue dog will take some time to relax and build trust with you in order to feel comfortable to be in a crate. Give at least a month in order to get to see some results in any part f your rescued dog. Not only the crate training but also for having the separation anxiety. I will share some videos with you that I'd like you to watch and learn what you need to do. For crate training watch the following video: ua-cam.com/video/z4A7Y6K5_o0/v-deo.html To understand what to do with your rescued dog please watch the following videos: ua-cam.com/video/lciImRFwQgM/v-deo.html Meanwhile feel free to ask me any questions.
It is not matter of training but providing more mental and physical breed appropriate stimulations. More info here: ua-cam.com/video/EEOqhOrQg5s/v-deo.htmlsi=-3XJNhLXp-AaOXWL
It's just that I think it is part of a dogs make up to bark and is a natural thing to do. I don't want her to be a constant barker or yapped, however, I wonder if it is something more deeper from her past that stops her
If dogs become anxious or stressed they tend to bark so if your dog is not barking, it's a good sign which means it is not stressed. I have a beagle and he does not bark, howl or bay. Which I am very happy about it.
Remember not to provide too much space for your puppy and limit the areas she can be plus supervise her activities and also provide toys that she can chew. Hey i have a question how do prevent the dog from getting skin disease or having this red big lumps and loss of hair? Also whats the best dog food for golden retriever or labrador golden retriever
I always suggest to feed a clean, fresh food for dogs which is raw diet. Not only it will prevent your dog to develop health issues but also heal the health issues. To learn more watch the following videos: ua-cam.com/video/7Vf9_bb_c5g/v-deo.html
sir currently i am feeding 2 stray dog outside my home since a week they have started on biting bike seats and covers i cannot keep them in home what should i do?
It's kind of you to care for the stray dogs outside your home. However, it can be concerning when they start biting bike seats and covers. Here are a few suggestions to address this behavior: Provide suitable alternatives: Offer chew toys or bones specifically designed for dogs. By redirecting their chewing behavior to appropriate items, you can help satisfy their need to chew while protecting your bike seats. Deterrent sprays: Consider using bitter apple or bitter-tasting sprays on the bike seats and covers. These sprays have a strong taste that dogs usually find unpleasant, which can discourage them from chewing on those surfaces. Secure the area: If possible, create a designated feeding area for the stray dogs away from your bikes. Use fencing or barriers to prevent them from accessing the bikes and redirect their attention to a more suitable location. Seek local assistance: Contact local animal welfare organizations or authorities to see if they can offer any guidance or support. They may be able to provide resources, such as traps or alternative feeding arrangements, to help manage the stray dogs' behavior. Remember, it's important to ensure your own safety while addressing this issue. If you feel uncomfortable or the behavior persists despite your efforts, it may be best to consult with a professional animal behaviorist or local animal control for further assistance. Thank you for your compassion towards these stray dogs, and I hope these suggestions help you find a solution that benefits both the dogs and your bike seats.
What do you do if you do not catch the dog in action but only find out after..i have a year old that chews my car wiring and she always does it when i leave her alone..She gets alot of attention..but she has cost me about 700USD in damage already
In most cases you do nothing to the dog because it is a human error. Why, because you didn't prevent it from happening. She gets lots of attention but probably is not getting enough exercise and training plus her other needs are not met well as well. Since she can't talk to you and say these words, she acts up because she is a dog. To learn how to provide her daily needs watch the following video(s). ua-cam.com/video/7PLTj5zNSVw/v-deo.html
Hi, i have 2 dogs. A one year old husky mix and a 6 month old mastiff/chow mix.... They are chewing my walls... Please help I bought some bitter spray, didn't work and too. Expensive not to work. Any suggestions to put on walls and furniture before they eat my house down??
Your dogs get bored while staying home without (you) their humans and get stressed. Ask someone (paid or free) to come and look after your dog while you work. Send them or take them somewhere that can look after your dogs. Owning dogs is costly and they don't know that. Yet, your dogs need you to provide them their daily needs which are exercise, training, socialization, care and affection.
@@SaroDogTraining i am home with them all the time. I am retired. If i take a shower. This is what they do... Especially the youngest chow/ mastiff. He is super attached to me. I walk them and exercise them a lot. They have a big yard as well.
It could be a sign of stress. Your Chow may have a light version of separation anxiety. That means can't tolerate being separated from you It is lacking self-confidence as well. You may need to teach it or other dogs as well, the stay or wait command. I show and teach it in the two following videos. ua-cam.com/video/2CvtFcNJTuM/v-deo.html and this: ua-cam.com/video/yviGby4o4wk/v-deo.html
I have a dog i got and he is smart. He knows all basic commands, he is a hard chewer so i got him things to chew on like bennabones and i often give him enticements. He gets exercized regularly and i try my best to take propper care of him, but he chews when ever im gone. If im out of the house for a certain amount of time he cries. I also try potty training him but he still pees and poops inside the house, also for somereason will not poop at all outside. Ive had him for 3-4 months now and got him from the animalshelter. Do you have any suggestions ?
That is a clear sign of a dog that is sensitive and is trying to settle down but is nervous and stressed especially when you leave him home alone. It is too early to leave him home alone as he is not ready and you need to be aware of it so either hire someone to look after him while you are not around or take hm to a doggy daycare. He is just stressed and he is communicated that by chewing and peeing and pooping here and there.
Provide more mental and physical stimulation by playing with it, allowing it to play with other dogs, taking it for at least 30 minutes of walks, twice a day, doing daily training sessions using my dog training method and such.
My 11 month old Aussie Pit's chewing fixation has gotten worse in the last month. She's chewed through 2 TV remotes, her sisters collar and a pair of shoes all in the last week. Bitter sprays don't work. I'm getting desperate.
My puppy wants to eat everything that she see🤦 She swallowed a piece of wood from our door, is it too serious to be scared of? I mean is it so dangerous?
My dog will go outside and eat the outside of our house and the plugin outside my house. or if I’ve left wood wall pieces out there, he’ll chew on the sides of those. He was left outside for 5 mins and starting chewing my house. He’s destroying my house and my parents are getting super upset. I don’t know what to do.
My dog belgian melinois is crazy! I have one gigantic yard full of trees. I play with my dog, he has a lot of toys, bones, but if i live hem alone for few hours..he eats my trees. I don'tknow what to do any more. He digs halls in the ground, destroid everything! I don't wan't hem anymore. He is a deseese!😢
He is dealing with separation anxiety. The large space is also not good because it stresses him too. Keep him inside of the house or even in a crate while you are out.
My shepherd/malinois mix has chewed the entire siding of my shed to where anything can crawl into the side all the way down it. Its a large shed. Basically a garage. Yesterday he chewed up my grill cover. I am so irritated.
Of course it does. One thing that I want you to remember is that your chihuahuas is a dog first and then a chihuahua. All dogs are the same. In this case, all dogs learn and understand the concept the same way. Some learn it faster and some take more time.
My dog chews on electric cords..I have given her numerous toys to chew on, I redirect her all the time, brush her teeth regularly, and walk her at least twice a day. I’m so frustrated I’m ready to put her in a kennel all day! I put things up, dog proofed my house..what do I do?
Yes, that has to do with something we call separation anxiety. Here is a video to help you with: ua-cam.com/video/lJX9RB5sjGY/v-deo.htmlsi=DxvOWJLsImDlGXqP
Hi sir I am from India i have a pomerian puppy it is almost 2 1/2 month he only chews our table and sandals he wants everything to chew including hands what can we do

Hi saro, I have a pitbull puppy that's 9 weeks old. He bites when I try to pet him sometimes. Is this something that stops on it's own? Or is there something I can do to stop it?
That happens because they are playful and also they are experiencing teething. I explain more in the following video including how to stop it. ua-cam.com/video/ZzmzjBDVgwc/v-deo.html
We have two mix breed puppies that chew everything. We bought some "no chew" spray and it didn't work. They destroyed the couch cushion, speakers, the fish tank stand, cabinet corners... we're clueless
My dog has chewed a lot of our flip flops, shoes and my mom’s expensive footwears, how do I stop it? We have already tried to discipline her by scolding her until to the point of lightly spanking her with said chewed footwear, she still didnt listen so in the end we put her back in her cage which she has never been put back in in a while. Either we keep her in a cage or leash and let her out for potty or anything else, I really like letting her have her freedom and just run around and sleep wherever but she cant keep chewing the footwears, how do I stop it?
You or your puppy can't have the cake and eat it too. You can let her out and free to do whatever it wants but you need to provide its daily five essential needs in order to help your dog to stop making mistakes. Punishing the dog is not the solution. Here is the video to learn about the needs. ua-cam.com/video/7PLTj5zNSVw/v-deo.html
Maybe you can help me out. We adopted a German Shepard/black lab mix. Good dog but she is now just over one year old and still chews things that she shouldn't. She has plenty of toys and a raw cow bone to chew on/play with. She was only chewing on things when we were gone but now it seems to be when we are home. She tried to chew the TV cord when my fiance was home. I play with her between 15 mins and 30 mins each day and walk her and we are training her also. What can we do stop the chewing? It's almost to a point where my finace wants to get rid of her. I hope you can help us. Thank you!
Please watch the video once again and follow the instructions and the tips that I share. The video is all about the same kind of behaviour and situation of a dog that you are describing.
My dog is over a year old and is eating everything. My couch, tables, clothes, everything. I've gave him plenty of toys. I've given him raw hides and antlers. He's got my other dog he loves to play with. I've tried using bitter spray and vinager to spray all over the stuff that he chews on but nothing is working. I play with him for a couple hours a day. I'm at a loss. Please help
In case like this, I have the feeling that you are doing 2 things wrong or over-doing it. One could be that you are giving too much freedom and the other thing is you are allowing your dog to exercise too much and gets over-exercised which makes him to have a hard time to slow down and gets stressed so directs its stress to the furniture...I suggest for the next week, try to keep him on leash attached to you or under control indoors. Only off leash for few times a day to play and exercise. Try this and update me in a week.
@@SaroDogTraining the only time he chews on my stuff is when I'm gone to work. I've restricted him to the kitchen because there's a dog door he can go out to potty and come back in so he's not cold. I would crate him while I'm gone but my shifts are 10-16 hour shifts.
My cane corso also chews up furniture beds shoes electric cords everything he is 1 as of December 25th 2020! He does this when I go to work mostly! I believe it’s separation anxiety
Hi! So When im not home i leave my dogs outside on my patio. They have been chewing on the screens so many times and i have had to replace the screens at least 30x this year. Any advice?? By the way i have a female red nose pit and a blue nose pit
my germen shepherd/husky mix, has been chewing up his beds, carpet, chairs, garbage, his leash, and much more. I play with him a lot but even when I turn my back on him for only one minute he has something of mine torn up. It is to the point that I might get rid of him because of the thousands of dollars he has costed me from just chewing up my things. He has plenty of toys treats and exercise but still tors things up. He is almost a year and a half old now. Please help I don't want to get rid of him
You don't have to get rid of it. You need to focus on providing your dog's daily five essential needs. Here is a video explaining it all. ua-cam.com/video/7PLTj5zNSVw/v-deo.html
I have a 1 year old staffy and everytime I don't let him sleep in my bed, I make him sleep in his crate the next day when I'm at work he will do something bad like chew my table. What can I do to stop this ?
i HAVE A 7 MO OLD GREAT DANE AND SHE JUST DESTROYED MY NEW COUCH SHE HAS DESTROYED CUSHIONS AND PADS BEFORE BUT THIS WAS A SURPRISE WHAT DO I DO HOW DO I STOP THIS BEHAVIOR ? DO I STOP LETTING HER ON THE FURNITURE? CRATE HER WHILE i AM AT WORK 9 HOURS ? i AM DEVASTATED AND I LOVE HER.
Based on your question, it looks like you leave your dog home for 9 hours while you work. Although I understand that you need to go to work and such, your puppy doesn't know that and it needs lots of mental and physical stimulation during the day. Especially at the time that you are at work. Not providing these, your puppy has become stressed and it is communicating to you how it feels by destroying your couch. Don't need to punish her but listen to her and provide some outlet while you are not home. Send her to doggie daycare. Ask a friend or relative to look after her. Take her to work with you if possible. Just remember, a 7 months old, healthy dog needs company and stimulation. In the following videos, I explain what they are so you can have a better idea. shorturl.at/crIZ5
My puppy is 5 months and she has chewed my sofa. Ripped off wallpaper. Pulled out my fire place out of the wall and pulled out a wire vent. She only does this when she is left alone. What can I possibly do to get my house back in order to help her not destroy my house while I am away?
It could be that you need to change the diet or few other reasons. I will share couple of videos that I'd like you to watch it and let me know if you have any questions. Watch this first. ua-cam.com/video/Da8uxMIZzwQ/v-deo.html And then watch this: ua-cam.com/video/VOELEuwm-fc/v-deo.html

If the behavior continues, consult your veterinarian to rule out any medical causes.

my problem with my dog is that he does his things at night when people are asleep and whats even worse is that he doesn't just chew stuff like wood sticks he never touches even are furniture but he loves shoes cap plant and pots. we let him sleep outside and hes got plenty of space and we even bought a toy for him but still he likes those stuffs on the shelves hanger and stuff that you dont want him to mess with. Sometimes at night youll hear him crying cause he want something hanging on the wall that he cant reach. It seems like he have a standard on what to chew on.
Same here
😂😂same i have 2 dogs. And. They are almost done chewing. Door frame and. Other things. Dont. Know how to stop them.. i m fed up

I will try that Laura one on one bonding I will do that I hope it helps
You can do it.
What should I do
What was your solution 😂 I'm going through this with my husky pup
She's chewing from boredom. I would advise getting someone during your shift to come by and exercise your dog for at least 45 to an hour. The chewing will subside and she is also teething so that doesn't help.
@@ayyye9459 Same but we live in a renting house. It's kinda annoying.
Thanks for sharing!! Your puppy just needs more mental and physical stimulation. You also need to start a training program if you want to train it.
Boomer is so cute! 😊❤
I too chew on stuff when bored! But how do I keep him from trying to get off collar and I think he chewed on my sisters phone. I might just get him a shock collar

I just got a 4 month Teddy dog. She has chewed tbe vorners of my good wopden furniture and base boards. She's wreaking everything.
Remember not to provide too much space for your puppy and limit the areas she can be plus supervise her activities and also provide toys that she can chew. sir currently i am feeding 2 stray dog outside my home since a week they have started on biting bike seats and covers i cannot keep them in home what should i do?
It's kind of you to care for the stray dogs outside your home. However, it can be concerning when they start biting bike seats and covers. Here are a few suggestions to address this behavior:
Provide suitable alternatives: Offer chew toys or bones specifically designed for dogs.
@@SaroDogTraining thankyou so much for your suggestions i will offer them chew toys and also will get a deterrent spray for bike seats 🙂
Please help
I bought some bitter spray, didn't work and too.

My dog will go outside and eat the outside of our house and the plugin outside my house. or if I’ve left wood wall pieces out there, he’ll chew on the sides of those. Does it work for chihuahuas
Of course it does. One thing that I want you to remember is that your chihuahuas is a dog first and then a chihuahua. All dogs are the same. In this case, all dogs learn and understand the concept the same way. Some learn it faster and some take more time.

Either we keep her in a cage or leash and let her out for potty or anything else, I really like letting her have her freedom and just run around and sleep wherever but she cant keep chewing the footwears, how do I stop it?
You or your puppy can't have the cake and eat it too.
My dog only bite on things when I'm gone and he only Target my chargers are small objects I leave alone 😅 so much for this video
That is a sign of probably separation anxiety. Focus on that and see if it improves.

My cane corso also chews up furniture beds shoes electric cords everything he is 1 as of December 25th 2020! He does this when I go to work mostly! I believe it’s separation anxiety
Of course. Ask someone t look after your dog or pay a dog daycare or pet sitter.
Does this help even if the puppy chews wood?
Yes, it doesn't matter what the puppy chews. The act of chewing is either due to boredom or teething.

i HAVE A 7 MO OLD GREAT DANE AND SHE JUST DESTROYED MY NEW COUCH SHE HAS DESTROYED CUSHIONS AND PADS BEFORE BUT THIS WAS A SURPRISE WHAT DO I DO HOW DO I STOP THIS BEHAVIOR ?
