Kerala is the southern most state in India, but when you arrive here, you feel as if you are in a completely different country. The language is completely different to Hindi, the food is on another level and the people not only look and dress different, but are much more laid back and friendlier in our opinion.
We spent a day exploring the port city of Kochi, also known as Cochin and were taken away by the amount of things to do here in the relatively small city.
From cathedrals, churches and museums there’s plenty of places to explore here. Not to mention the delicious which we found to be some of the best in the whole of India.
We ended up spending the day exploring with our lovely Auto-Rickshaw driver - his contact details are below:

Sorry to say that the first Church in India was not built by Europeans. Christainity in India was instituted by Apostle St. Thomas. AD 50-52 onwards there are Christians and Churches in India. In fact a priest from Kerala told the portugese missionaries that before your great grandfather became Christian my great great grandfather was Christian when they were suppressing the native St. Thomas Christians ( Marthoma Nazranis - nazrani is someone who follows Jesus of Nazareth). Please Google the first Church of India and you will see the church at Palayoor. St. Thomas instituted 7 important churches (community is called church or palli) in Kerala itself and was martyred in India Mylapore where his tomb is situated. Please don't think Christianity in India is a work of some european missionaries...!!! Indian Christianity is not European but apostolic by the apostle St. Thomas. So as to many other major religions in a way India is mother to a Christian Church which in the whole world calls itself with name joined to an apostle. Yes the only christian community in the entire world which names itself with the name of its founding apostle is the indian Christianity with the name Marthoma Nazranis - which is anglicized as St. Thomas Christians

What makes Kerala different from other Indian states is not only its beauty but also its cleanliness, people's behavior and safety.
One of our favourite places in India 🫶🏽🥰
My friend who’s now deceased loved Kerala especially the time she spent on a houseboat if I’m not mistaken.
Its not the cleanest though, just much better than other states.
It used to be clean in the past. Now it's not far from being like any other Indian city.

I am from Delhi 😐😐, but working in Kochi for 6+ years, Kerala is absolutely beautiful both by nature and people😍😇... Seafood is hands down the best in Kerala, just dont be alarmed as shell fishes like prawns may cause a upset belly that's a universal trade off you have to make to enjoy them anywhere in the world.
I agree with what yousaid about shell fish. I think the reason for stomach problems from eating prawns is actually due to the way of preparation and how long the prawns were kept exposed after catching it.
Hahaha , many of my North Indian friends have the same problems after eating seafood especially shellfish like prawns and crab .
It’s mainly because you’re not used to eating these things . Your immune system reacts to the different proteins as it’s not used to it , most of it is related to your genetics as well as you’re not from a coastal population 😂
If you have allergic problems, don't eat shell fish. Stomach ache maybe because those prawns were not fresh or maybe because you are not used to eating seafoods. Shell fishes bought in kerala households are fresh, because they can understand if it is spoiled just by looking at it😊
Prawns available in restaurants are rejected pieces from export quality. Come to KUTTANAD to enjoy PRAWNS, KARIMEEN and CRABS. Go to Malabar to enjoy muscles(KALLUME KAY)
beef is the tastiest , no allergies or food poisoning
Its Kerala, you don't need to get paranoid to say you're from Pakistan.😊
