Yes, I understand he's doing his own design. And I admire him for doing so, I was just saying the shape of the should pads will limit his mobility because of the concave rim, as opposed to a convex rim in the area closest to the neck. It prevents the shoulder from being able to sit completely inside the pad. The link I provided was an example of a shape that would be more ideal IN MY OPINION.
Your pauldrons look too deep. The curve doesn't need to be that exaggerated, you could use hockey padding as a example. But if you are happy with the style you chose, than don't mind my ramble, lol.
Use sticks for the ends of the cape. It will hang bether AND more importand you can hold the sticks und "spred" you wings all the way. (They used the technik in the older batman movie)
Some nice progress here. That printed hexagonal fabric looks pretty great under the armor. Although I too think that those pauldrons could use some redesign, also to cover more of that gap between shoudlers and breasts. On the topic of that cape - you've said that you want to use this costume together with your bat-skateboard so I wonder if this type of fabric will look good when in motion? Also it probably shouldn't be too long to prevent any possible entanglement. But I'm sure you already have this thought out, I just wanted to point it out:)
Minor nitpick: 'Shoulder bells'...where did you get that phrasing? The proper term is pauldrons (or, slightly more archaicly, spaulders). Otherwise, neat looking stuff you've got going here.
I'm 13 and have a love for robotics I've penthouse most of my money on parts building cool robots however it's not cheap I would like to know how to get sponsored
Like many other people have already said, your pauldrons (aka shoulder bells) could use some redesign. The thing I don't like about them is that they seem to restrict your arm movement, making it very hard to raise your arms above your shoulder level. Darth Vader's armor has the same problem, by the way :) The second thing I don't like is what they do to your overall silhouette - your cape will have to raise upwards to drape over them, making it look a bit... goofy :) Batman suits through the years have cape draping downwards from attachment points, and their pauldrons don't stick out so much. Speaking of cape, Batman cape is usually made from several pieces sewn together, basically forming a scalloped circle. But I trust you are capable of googling "batman cape pattern" ;)
Martín Ferro It looks unnatural because they peak upwards and the neck is really flat resulting in some really pointy shoulders. The would look better if they were more spherical
Hi James, I have been searching all over Los Angles looking for a company who would provide 3-D printing service, and although there are many, none of them will print on top of fabric. Do you have any suggestions?
Do you have any advice for painting Ninaflex Cheetah? I can't find any recommandations online. I've tried using Plastidip but it dosent want to hold and just peels off after a time. Do I need to prepare the surface with a plastic primer first?
Do you really want a glossy Batsuit? Pretty sure he painted his suit matte black in the Nolan series so it wouldn't reflect light & give his position away.
James, love how you constantly react with the design details on the fly to plan the next steps and parts.
The should pads are the wrong shape. Take a look here: images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/714TdaldlmL._UL1500_.jpg
Robert Wallace ya true
He’s doing his own design isn’t he?

"I'm not wearing hocky pads" ahhahaah
jk but good tip!
Use sticks for the ends of the cape.

you're the hero youtube needs.
NavalNation but not the one it deserves

Ooh, James, feels like a corset? That’s some life experience I wasn’t expecting ;)
The hex pattern really make the suit look super. They completely change the look of the suit in a good way. Can't wait for next vid. TkEZ»UK
You definitely nead synthetic leather for the cape. Make it more epic!
Those pauldrons need to be flattened, as they look weird.
Rest looks good tho =)
Will there ever be a project as big a scale as hulkbuster again, or are you aiming for projects that have more complex technology but smaller in size.
That last shot in the video confirms, yes, Batman always should wear pants....the suit looks weird without pants!
You should look at the batcape design from the 89 movie. Solves the problem of the corners
love all your videos James. Been subscribed for a couple years now. Keep it up!
Minor nitpick: 'Shoulder bells'...where did you get that phrasing? The proper term is pauldrons (or, slightly more archaicly, spaulders). Otherwise, neat looking stuff you've got going here.
It's a commonly used term when talking about modern types of armour, such as Darth Vader, clones, stormtroopers etc.
Yeah, it’s not the most “correct” term but it’s common and accurate enough. Most people understand it just fine.
so cool With the flexible material, some projects can be realized👑🇬🇧👌
How do you model so well?!?! How did you learn?
Any thoughts on how you will finish the parts? Removing the 3D print lines and all.
I'm 13 and have a love for robotics I've penthouse most of my money on parts building cool robots however it's not cheap I would like to know how to get sponsored
James you're a legend

you really should add a quick release for the cape, just for safety
I was hoping you'd be keeping the bulldog clips as a design feature! 😜
Maybe design a Batman pants for the mannequin?
At least put a pair of shorts on it.
More engineering and technology builds please, you are really good at that...
I've looked at some references, and it seems the shoulder armour is wrapped around the shoulder instead of sitting on top of it. Thoughts?
Am I the only one that thinks the shoulders look weird af?
Martín Ferro

6:26 Wait... How do you know what a corset feels like?
That's amazing.. I think the cape needs 3D printed ribs though Batman's cape always has volume like it has ribs holding it up off his back.
Could put all that (awesome) robotics experience to use and make a skeleton under the cape that can be expanded with motors.
Cool! Will the printed on fabric melt with body heat?
Chicago screws or sex bolts which I think they are called over there, would add a nice finish.
need more info on Ultron
Hi James,
I have been searching all over Los Angles looking for a company who would provide 3-D printing service, and although there are many, none of them will print on top of fabric. Do you have any suggestions?
James you put a lot into designing these... You should use them as a prototype and then license the designs out to costume makers to mass produce
Do you have any advice for painting Ninaflex Cheetah? I can't find any recommandations online. I've tried using Plastidip but it dosent want to hold and just peels off after a time. Do I need to prepare the surface with a plastic primer first?
implying you've worn a corset before ;)
Thats what i was going to say lol
Haven't you seen his Wonder Woman outfit?
The support material reminds me of venom.... What im trying to say is you should do a venom inspired suit
UD Replicas!! There is no substitute!!!! LOL
You are an incredible guy 🤓👌🏽
It would be funny if he gave all the pieces of armor a bat prefix
What 3D printer do you use?
Do you think you could make a real terminator??
Oh my, I've seen smaller pauldrons on space marines.
Cool project though
Your shoulder bells are gonna dig into your shoulder line mate
Ahora necesitas imprimir unos bíceps para rellenarlo.
- Who are you?!
- I'm Bruce Wayne... fuuuuuck...
Im Bat Wanye...i mean Bruce man...
It's Batman Rome?
If only people could actually be Batman in real life
can the print still be sanded because its like rubber
Cheetah is a PITA to paint. I've tried Plastidip but it just wants to peel off. Any recommendations for priming it first?
This music makes me feel like I'm watching "How It's Made".
gosto muito dos seus videos
Do you really want a glossy Batsuit? Pretty sure he painted his suit matte black in the Nolan series so it wouldn't reflect light & give his position away.
Hello
I cind of like it
It's cool... but way too big and not the right shape
mais um escrito
красата
looks good. shoulders look stupid though. looks like football pads.and the chest piece needs to be one piece.
The old iron man costume looked better than any of this 3D printed stuff.
Why don't you just print a mannequin of yourself?
Ninja flex Is a website
AhhahAhaHAha... Doesn't make You ninja, nor Batman
You could have done it better.
not batman it just gay suit!!!
yes the suit is happy
