USA to Canada Border Crossing (2022 RESTRICTIONS UPDATE)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 13 лип 2022
- The border from the United States into Canada reopened last year since a complete shut down at the start of pandemic (covid 19). This video documents my recent crossing from the USA into Canada by car at the Detroit/Windsor border from Michigan into Ontario.
Prior to crossing the Canadian border, your travel documents have to be upload onto the TravelCan app, which include your personal information, proof of vaccination, valid travel document (passport) and the date in which you will be crossing. Proof of a negative Covid test taken within 72 hours of crossing is NO LONGER REQUIRED for crossing the Canadian border by car ! Aside from uploading the necessary documents onto the app, the process is pretty straight forward.

I’m elevating that you have been back & forth so much. Your log has identified every procedure to deem you as not high risk. 🔥🔥 and there’s systems in place
What a terrific job and so helpful!
Thank you for watching :)
@Passport_Ced I live in texas and wanna move to canada is it hard
Thank you for the advice.
My pleasure
Thanks Dude!
Hey .thank you for this video.
Thank you for watching. Much appreciated.
Would love if you keep doing these, I'm moving to Alaska in a month and would love to stay updated
Thank you. I’ll do my best. Much appreciated
i’m planning on driving from Alaska to Charlotte,NC i would have to pass the Boarder in order to do so ! my daughters won’t be vaccinated so i’m kind of sad about that every one has to be vaccinated to cross ? even the kids …
Great video brother
Thanks bruh
Appreciate it
For anyone wondering, as of October 1st, 2022, the ArriveCAN app is no longer required. Many people know that this app is very insecure and hackable, so this is good.
*Exactly! it just depends on who you deal with!*
Great Job
Thank u👍
You’re welcome
If you are driving or train, you can also use your Enhanced State ID.
Great video. I am going to Canada next month but I think I am taking the ambassador bridge.
Nice video 👍
Thank you
In order to get in does at least 1 vaccination has to be within 6 months so pretty recent? This was the case for chile and argentina
Wow nice video, can I ask you questions is Canada still required 2 Covid-19 vaccines shot to across Alaska to Canada 2023?
No. It’s all been lifted.
Also, do I need to get a permission for a car or I don't need to have one?
As of October 1st, 2022 no more COVID restrictions!
Yes! I’ve heard. That’s great news
Is that they don’t require the vac?
No more vaccination and no Covid test.
@@brandonhalcyon6984 I don't think they require vaccination proof anymore, no.
@@brandonhalcyon6984 ArriveCAN is not required, vaccine isn't required, COVID test not required. Just no pot.

Thank you so much for sharing this information!!! When you drive to Canada, do kids need passport? Or Birth Certificate would do? Thank you!
I’m not positive if their is an age requirement for passports, but I would have it to be certain. Especially if you are traveling a distance to cross. You wouldn’t want to get turned away.
They don’t need your arrive can app they just scan your plate and because you downloaded the arrive can it come up on their screen automatically
I want whether i can enter Canada if I just have USA visa B1B2 only ?
Im driving through canada on my way to alaska. Im debating on taking my kayak. I dont have registration for it since its a just a basic kayak. You think they will let me in with it?
Not sure
Hey! Thank you for the video. I have a question when it comes to the rules if it would be the same thing if I were to fly from the US to Canada? Where as long as I have the ArriveCAN its good? Or do you think the rules are different? I read somewhere that if you are visiting Canada, there is a “mandatory” 14 day quarantine you need to do even if you are fully vaccinated?
No quarantine. There’s a lot of different guidelines and they keep changing. Here’s a link you may find helpful:

@@passport_ced Awesome thank you so much! :) I appreciate it
Hi thanks for the video. Very helpful. We’re planning to move to Alaska. So of course we’re traveling through Canada. Do you know if the restrictions are less if your just traveling through? Thanks
I imagine they are the same
Not downplaying this video by any means. However, the most accurate info about traveling through Canada to Alaska can be obtained by doing your own online research.
@@vickimeyers2672 I agree
I’m moving to Alaska as well, however my passport is expired since 2003. Will I be able to enter Canada with my vaccinations card, birth certificate, retired military id, and ca drivers license?
@@orlandoigno482 absolutely not. You’re either gonna have to get your passport, updated or simply fly into Alaska so you avoid all that Canadian bullshit, fk those people
Are there restrictions on how much money you can bring into Canada? Like when you fly into another country, you can't have more than $10,000.
Also, are the traffic laws similar up there?
You can have $10k or more, you just have to declare it.
Bless your heart! I'm traveling to Canada in a few weeks from Detroit too and I'm really nervous. I'm a foreign student in the US but have a Canadian visa
This video is really helpful, thank you
You’ll be fine
We were travelling to canada but can you bring gallon of water to drink? We have a alkalize water that we bring always when we travel but we don’t know if water will be allow just in case we got check. Seems they dont even bother to check your car either.
Yes. You can bring water.

Does anyone know if Canada accepts enhanced driver's licenses from the United States as an alternative to a passport (specifically Michigan Enhanced Licenses) when crossing into Canada by land/sea? I was looking at the official Canada website for border crossing info but didn't say anything about enhanced licenses. I'm getting an Enhanced License in a month or so. I understand and I am 100% sure enhanced licenses can be used to enter back into the U.S. as a U.S. citizen, but what about entering Canada? Does Canada accept enhanced licenses from the United States?
Enhanced licenses work as well.
Do you happen to know if someone from a different country lands in Canada, and wants to travel through the border to get to the states. Would that be possible if they don’t have a US or Canada passport?
Yes. But, Depending on where you are from, you may need a visa just to enter.
where is the link to the journey back into the us
I have a question? I know someone that planning to go to canada to renew their passport and they have US green card and thier passport was already expired for years and they only have green card to show for, Can they pass the border to renew their passport because one of the Embassy of their country is closer from where they live right now rather than the other embassy of their country here in US are far where they live?
Are they a Canadian citizen? If they aren't, they should try to contact the embassy of their home country to see what to do. Just make sure they have other forms of ID from their home country.
I plan on going one day but not exactly sure what I need
hey bro i did flag pole but i forget the date how do i know that date ? plz help
Going to Ontario for the first time next month. I do hear they ask questions like: any weapons, how long are you staying, where are you coming from, where are you going, when are you leaving
What if you don't have a smartphone? Can you stop at a cyber cafe or library before the border and up load it?
I guess that would work fine
Simple says you! Can you do a vid on ArrivCan and how to fill it out? I've got an account and signed in but I don't have a choice on boat or car. All I get is CBSA declaration and airports?
I have a video on that on my channel. But, you no longer need to fill out the ArriveCan app to cross.
@@passport_ced No wonder I spent several hours trying to get to the place where I could travel by land without success. Thanks for getting back. All you need now is enhanced drivers license or passport to go and come with no filling out arrivecan stuff?
Can you get your passport stamped upon request?
What is the address where I need to enter Canada from the US side ? The ArriveCan information can be filled at the port of entry ?
It's called the border
Me and my family are trying to go to Africa but we need to go through canada first but will they let me(14) through because I’m only one dose vaccinated and same to my brothers but they are under 12 and my parents are fully vaccined ???? we just need to go to the Toronto airport
If you are not exiting the airport and just there for a connecting flight, you should be fine. I stopped in Canada on my trip to Malawi, Africa for a connecting flight and never had to go through customs.
Can you use passport card with the book?
thanks for your video.I have a question.when should I fill out the app before I get to the border? And what should I do when I need to do for going back to us from Canada ?
I believe it’s within 48 hours of crossing the border. I filled out mine the night before. As far as going back to the US, there is absolutely nothing you need to do as long as you have proof of citizenship or residency. I released a video last week showing my re-entry process in to the US. You can find it on my channel if you are interested
@@passport_ced Thank you very much!
Yo bro, do they finger print u @ Canadian immigration upon entering?
No. Never been finger printed. But that doesn’t mean that they absolutely wouldn’t.
I’m driving up north to Canadian border-staying in Thunder Bay for 2 nights, do I need Canadian currencies??
They usually take US currency near the border but you can exchange at the duty free immediately after crossing.
@@passport_ced Thank you!!
Can i use my Michigan Enhanced drivers license to travel across or do I need a passport?
You can use an enhanced dl.
Do I simply need a US passport to enter/drive from Buffalo NY?
Yes
Can I use I'd an birth certificate also a bus from board te get by as tourist ..an skip app an covid still need 2023
Wow, you got it so easy... A few years back (pre-Covid) when trying to get into BC from WA, I got hassled with about a thousand questions... for example, the officer would ask how long would I stay over, and I would say, "dont know," as it was a road trip and I didnt know if I would stay the night or return, and then he would as, "why dont you know if you will stay or not..." It's like more probing questions... so frustrating... and a similar experience from US border agent, though with slightly less intimidating (detailed) questions.. Geez.. so it also makes me hesitant to do a road trip up north with all this hassle from the border agents on both sides, feels I'm being targeted...
They wanna make sure you aren't planning to illegally live and work there.
i have to drive to canada to go to a tuning shop there, im getting some stuff installed on my car. but im nervous cause i dont know what i need to drive there.
Off topic... About currency. How do we pay for things there? Will my atm card work there and dispense Canadian currency?
Change currency at the border or use atm. It will dispense Canadian.
I ordered $197 off AAA for $12 shipping & got $250 back in Canadian. Only took 2 days.
It's October 5th. Can we cross now?? My husband is vaccinated (non Canadian) I and my son are NOT vaccinated ( I am Canadian). I heard it was all done with as of October 1st. Looking forward to a February trip up to see family!!!
you're married. so you get exception.
@@Masckerdoom Why does your comment get highlighted? I called the border back in the third week of March 2020. I got a green light to pass through the next day. Traveled up... they gave me a rough time.. basically made me say my brother was DEAD (which we didn't know if he was or not). Said "day to day things change". I told them "my family is in a dire situation. My brothers life is on the line." Now, why would I make a drive (7 hours) to the border.. only to find out "sorry.. you can not pass.. covid restrictions. Less than 24 hour time difference! The Canadian border treated me like DIRT! I thank you for the video. What to expect from the arrive Canada app is a big help. I plan to cross at North Portal September 7th on a trip to Yellowknife. I expect to be raked over the coals a little bit more because of the length of my trip. Yes I do study for their questions and no handing them a copy of my itinerary seems to makes things worst and has gotten the car searched a couple of times. Just yes sir and no sir and things go better. Question I have been asked over the years. Do I have hotels booked??? Who do I know in Canada??? Do I know the British Columbia mud snow tire laws?? (asked in August). My favorite one I was traveling with someone from Texas that when asked about firearms. He answered he had never ever even handled a firearm in his life. He might have gotten by with that answer if not from Texas. One and a half hours later we cleared.
