REPAIR KIT CARB Rebuild 26-1664 made by All Bulls Racing has nicely machined parts and it now flies compared to stock kit. Can't recommend it enough has same part numbers, but the jets look bigger. Fowlers at time I bought bike wanted to sell jet kit-I wonder if stock oem was for emissions new and now corrected.

That's interesting, I've never seen/felt a flat spot on any bandits that I can remember. They are normally super smooth throughout the rev range. But yes as you say, stock jetting included slight restriction for emissions reasons. Either too rich or too lean.

I mistakenly soaked the diaphragms in carb cleaner. They became completely out of shape. I was very disappointed and was going to have to order new ones. I soaked them in water over night and to my surprise....they went right back to their original shape and retained the same rubbery properties. Great question, I prefer the 600 for its revs, but the 650 does feel a touch better on torque. Gary's 2005/2006 model is the best of all worlds I believe. Old bandit looks with a great carbed engine.

    • @motorcyclerescuer

Hi Stephen, was it high tickover before cleaning?
It could be a few issues mate. Idle screw adjustment.
      Balance issues
Diaphragm issues especially after cleaning carbs. If any of the cleaner got onto the Diaphragms then they could have got out of shape.
Air leak would also cause idle issues. So a suction tube not put back on or a carb boot not fully seated.
