Its a scale truck. But.. we have tested and driven them for hundreds of miles and it gives you so much back in passion and looks! Also we never broke anything. 1 rule when stuck don't push true. It does do rocks when you keep working on your lines.. this is what makes it so much more then just trow a traxxas at it.. real passion ❤️
I wish it was stronger in the axles and driveshafts. Also wish the suspension was better tuned for the weight. But it is a good scale platform one can enjoy and love.
It has nothing to do with luck.. it's a trail truck with crawler capabilities out of the box. In these videos on rocks its not trailing... of you want it to be more of a rock crawler you need to upgrade its just what the concept is... wrong use gets breaks. I have 8 and also go on the rocks.. but with caution
That was great . As I sit here listening to my ohio weather forecast while watching your vid they mention the flooding California rains. Would have been a bad time for a mechanical failure! We don't have a leaf sprung rig . Have 2 gelandes and love them but definitely need a tf2 some day. Fun video.stay dry!
Yep poured rain all day New Year’s Eve. It’s New Year’s Day now & super windy but pretty much all the rain has passed but it’s good to be super wet out but RC’s aren’t just for indoors they are meant to go outdoors & survive the elements. Well most.
Great video, yup Rc4wd gotta have CVD id your gonna try and do TRX4 stuff, its scale truck same as my 1:1 leaf sprung Jeep gotta learn to drive it then they perform great or modify it and you'll be super surprised how well a Leafer can hang, if you set the end points conservatively on the Rc4wd dog bones they'll hang in a little Ionger but thats pretty much a have to have upgrade the CVD, but I'll take that over lexan flimsy all day lol!
Beautiful truck and video. I would love to duplicate that look in 1/18 scale. I can't decide if I want an FMS Toyota LC80 or the FMS Toyota Hilux. Either way, I would paint it gloss black with yellow KC lights.

Rc4wd had it on sale a couple weeks ago. Cost me like $580, and that's including shipping. This one was perfect, didn't even need shims. I bought the 4Runner a year ago and there were missing screws and it wasn't even lubed. You'd think for the money you'd get consistent build quality. That being said I'm still running stock electronics and have had no parts breakages with over 50 miles of trailing on the 4Runner not counting all the runs on my scale course. Also, people break CVDs all the time on 1:1 rigs in the same ways you would break them on a TF2. It happens. That's just the nature of off-roading. The real issue with their CVDs is the limited steering angle. All things considered, they are well worth the money but are not for everyone.
They are about scale realism, not performance. Nearly everything on the chassis is metal. The dogbone front axle joints are garbage, consider cvd's a must-do upgrade. RC4WD stuff is not everyone's cup of tea, but if you want a leaf spring truck with a hard body they are pretty much the only game in town.
Its a scale truck so performance isn't its thing.. If you want performance and looks, get a vanquish.. That will cost you double the price.. I have both RC4WD and Axial and the RC4WD is my trail truck that i dont abuse and drove it like a real car while my custom axial is my performance rig. You can't win both..
I always considered rc4wd to be overpriced garbage. Whenever I'm considering a new trail rig, no one ever recommends this brand. I've only heard bad things about them. And after seeing a few videos of the rc4wd mystery boxes, I can tell they really don't care about their customers. Great looking truck tho. Such a shame they want so much for something you're going to have to spend a lot more on for it to be even moderately reliable.
Would you be able to cut the ext cab off this body, and kinda glue it together to make a single cab, because for some reason they dont make a 80's single cab toyota body, and it sucks

You've been lucky. I've killed a couple axles, shafts and gears.

The axles will break if you drive it like your toy plastic traxxas. These are scale trucks for a more sophisticated model enthusiast.

You'd be better off getting a Boom Racing BRX02 leaf edition. It's a much higher quality truck for the price.
