The 21 cockpit is gorgeous. Everybody is admirative of the F-14, and for a reason. But this one is gorgeous AND exotic, to my eyes at least.

That rearview mirror is to look up to see if there is a missile trail/launch on you in a fight. Or when you lose sight of enemy to check if hes on your six. Saved me couple of times. Also can check if your shute is deployed. Far from useless.
It's a matter of perspective. One Finnish Bis pilot joked that it was there to see if your tail was still following you. It has it's uses, and while you get used to and compensate for it just fine, it is a bit in the way in a dogfight.

I downloaded the Mig 21 in FSX and it is a b word to fly. Also all of the instruments are in Russian so that doesn’t help either. Despite these issues it’s such a cool plane and I love flying it
If you got to the settings and then to special, you can select Standard or English for Cockpit language
Favourite DCS module - it kind of ruined every other module for me. It looks and feels so genuine.

Russian aircraft altimeters use mm HG (Millimetres Mercury) the standard pressure setting being 760 mm Hg

I'm confused about the switch at 6:39. The manual says it's SPS (BLC) switch, which indicates it has something to do with blown flaps instead (boundary layer control). Later on in the list of abbreviations, it says SPS meaning is “flaps boundary layer blowing (control) system”… but the aircraft can also carry the SPS-141 jamming container, which makes it super confusing :D Does the button really control the SPS-141, or does it, in fact, control the BLC system?

Can I get a heart from reapers
I love the MIG-21. Was about to build a cockpit and started up with Arduinos and built a couple of annunciators and some basic instruments. But then the Viggen was released and my focus shifted :)
Anyway, there isn't a reostat for the annunciators, it is a mechanical filter for day/night operations.
Regarding the Amp meter, I believe it is some weird way of showing Amps/hours- but not sure how to interpret it though. Perhaps number of hours remaining with the current drain?
Chose this module strictly for the good looks of the plane.

It’s been 8 months so I’m assuming you’ve found the answer elsewhere. But in the off chance that you haven’t.. from the home menu, go to settings, special, select airplane, then there will be a drop down menu for the cockpit showing the languages available to switch to
