Hi. Thank you for your video. I am 49 yrs old and have mirror movement (or Bimanual Synkinesis) on the hands and have only know what this "hand problem" is for about 6 years. That it actually has a name and others have it too. Now I found out in your video that this may be associated with DCC. I just downloaded your paper and look forward reading it to learn more.
I really appreciate this. I work with keyboard in my work and play piano, btw. This does not stop me at all, just slows me down some.

Hi There, happy new years.. my 2 year old son has this same type of mirroring in the hands, I’m trying to learn as much about it as possible and appreciate you guys posting your experiences. My son seems to not always mirror his hands and fingers ..just sometimes, does this get more pronounced as you grow up, have you noticed anything? Many thanks in advance. Apologies for multiple duplicate posts.

I have it aswell and so did my father and many of my uncles for the most part it is just a slight inconvenience at times but mostly goes unnoticed.

Thank you for your video. I am 42 and found out 4 years ago that I have complete agenesis of the corpus callosum. And I do have a bit of mirror movement but not much. I have trouble staying focused and a sucky memory and anxieties and some autism type things.

Hi Irene, can you tell me some things that help you. It sounds like my 19 year old daughter who has struggled through life un-diagnosed. She went to a neurologist about 10 years ago and there was some strange findings but they didn't even know what it was. She does have mirror movement but not so much that it prevents her from carrying things. She has hardly any memory and recalls things to us like they happened years ago when really it was only yesterday. She never learned to ride a bike because of her fears. It's very hard to watch, as a parent, and have no idea how to help them. It prevents her from getting employment and public education shoved her into special ed. So, her whole life, it's like she's been forgotten.

@@btslove2303 hi, well not really sure what helps me. Just trying to stay busy and creative. I take a low dose of an anxiety medication to help me since I get overwhelmed a lot when things get crazy and loud.and I don't like driving anywhere cause I get confused and anxious.

I have mirror movement disorder, my father had it and now my youngest son (born with agenesis of the corpus callosum) has it. My oldest son does not have it.

Hello. I am 15 years old and I have hand mirror movements. No one else in my family has them and I have no other physical/mental issues. We aren’t quite sure what causes them for me.

Hi! I have congenital mirror movement disorder. I was diagnosed by a neurologist and its a genetic disorder. Its recessive and dominant. You should look into it :)
