Nispey Russell was doing all that and more from his early days as an entertainer. He would have represented some of the generation Jackson was influenced by, since Michael was a student of the history of performance, dance and entertainers in general. So as a youngster, it says a lot that HE had the skill and ability to keep up with a pioneer like Russell.
Diana Ross is the only cast member that’s alive in this movie 😢…… loved almost everyone in this movie, but I’m happy they in a better place and not struggling anymore…..

My ex sister-in-law is a big fan of Michael Jackson and because of her, I finally sat long enough to get to know about him. Much to my own shock, I grew to love him. She took me to an old movie theater that showed this movie not long after his death. When they showed Michael Jackson in his final scene, I felt like screaming "Michael, come back!" We lost a wonderful man when he died. But I still enjoy watching his videos and listening to him sing as if he's still here. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Maybe I’m just a theatre geek but… the tin man has always seemed to be an alcoholic to me who numbs himself in order to “feel”. The lion resonates with the pressure of looking scary and strong ( the way black men are viewed) and the inability to be afraid. The scarecrow is a representation of the everyday black person. Things like Jim Crow, and the mindset of others can cause us to believe that we don’t “have a brain” because we don’t use our own. His ideologies from the beginning were only made from his surroundings. I could go forever but that would practically be a book😭
This scared me when i was little. I did not understand this scene nor the hookers/ red light district, but I guess they had to be drugged some kind of way
@@AlfredWilliams-cq4cq Yep, if you were under 5 this was a horror movie. Oh, and those black faces in the wall that eyes opened when singing the chorus.
