      Eastern Orthodox does this by understanding the esoteric meaning of the teachings, direct experience with the Divine.

    Shay I didn't realize the lies when I was a Baptist I had been told Catholics didn't read scripture I went to a Catholic Church there was the priest reading from Old and New same day with Homily. So sad that protestants believe they are following Jesus son of God who says the greatest gift is love they are not showing they have this gift. My Family three living sisters all protestants don't call or visit so sad. Must pray stay confident in Holy Mother Mary our King and truths of Jesus.

    It matters which faith you belong to. When a protestant I left when a situation in my life occurred. Years went by but I found in scripture Matthew 16 18 John 20 19 23 John 6 51 55 One body we obey Jesus . Protestants believe in Jesus name but don't obey these scriptures. Mary is in scripture, saints in bible it is the most Biblical faith I found.

    David just because abuses where found in the Church they are found in all Churches and in society it is wrong. I was a Baptist when I came into the Catholic faith after seeing in Scripture Matthew 16 18 Isaiah 22 authority keys office John 20 19 23 instituted confession breathing on his apostles giving them his authority to absolve sins. Mary is in Old Testament and New she is the Mother of God as a Baptist I saw that. Rosary is in scripture it is the life of Christ we think on. I read the Catholic Catechism, I went to Library there I saw succession that Jesus built his Church on Jewish succession Israel had. We keep the teachings of Jesus safe. Matthew on Divorce remarriage marriage abortion conception The protestants I Knew did remarry used contraception did abort in certain cases They don 't keep Jesus commands of confession in scripture or Eucharist John 6 51 55 I saw that Jesus s says if you really love me you will observe my commandments. The Pope can never go against Jesus teachings. He can have his opinions but I don't have to follow his idea. He represents Christ on earth the Church is led by Holy Spirit. One unity with teachings. We do not worship Mary she is a creature a special creature chosen as scripture says found favor full of grace sinless what that means. prepared for son of God. She obeyed God the first eve disobeyed God. Mary brought life into the world redeemer of all mankind. Protestants believe once saved always saved you can disobey sin . scripture says St. Paul work out your salvation with fear and trembling. Protestants have no unity confusion that is not of God God is a God of order. Jesus wants One Church that is all Jesus established look on line Early Church Fathers people who lived at time of apostles.

    There is only one Holy Apostolic Catholic Church in the world and there are 27,000 Protestant sects (no hyperbole here). The Catholic Church symbolizes ORDER; whereas, Protestantism symbolizes CHAOS.
    In Protestantism all you have to have is charisma and a knowledge of the translated bible so you can, without bible in hand, quote it extensively then you can create your own sect of Protestantism and RAKE IN THE CASH. Why do you think there are so many Protestant sects? For the reason that, each sect is a very lucrative river of cash flow for the minister that rules over those cash-baskets.
    When was the last time you saw a Protestant minister without a two thousand dollar suit, 75,000 dollar car(s), a quarter of a million dollar Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring home? When was the last time you saw a Protestant minister without a couple of beautiful women on his arms as his wife looks on in total disgust? TALK ABOUT HEAVEN ON EARTH all you have to do is become a Protestant minister.
    Why then choose the Roman Catholic Church; for the reason that, Catholics study symbolism (iconography) and read the bible symbolically; whereas, Protestants hate the WORD OF GOD, which is totally symbolic; thus, Protestants read the bible iconoclastic-ally seeing they know nothing, whatsoever, of symbolism. The word PROTESTANT comes from the word PROTEST and what Protestants protest is the WORD OF GOD, which can only be written in symbolic form. PROTESTANTS are too lazy to use their minds; thus, their iconoclastic paradigm is literal; thus, they completely go through life as fundamentalists.

    "Only the Catholic Church can say there's an unbroken chain..."
    Close. The Eastern Orthodox claim to Apostolic Succession is also valid.

    • @meusisto
      @meusisto 7 років тому +23

      Actually, when we Catholics say this, we are reconizing the Apostolic Succession of the schismatics too, even if they do not accept part of the chain, that is, the Pope.

    • @scottzahn880
      @scottzahn880 7 років тому +4

      The Catholic view is that the Eastern Orthodox have valid Sacraments (which includes Holy Orders). Ask your priest. He'll confirm it. Further reading: www.ewtn.com/library/Liturgy/zlitur278.htm

    • @meusisto
      @meusisto 7 років тому +8

      Scott Zahn
      Yes. I said The Catholic view recognises the Apostolic Succession of schismatics, even if they do not accept the successor to Peter. And, even with a problem in the hyerarchy, they have valid sacrament of order, then valid all other sacraments.
      I thought I was clear before, I hope I'm clear now.
      Let's pray for the unity of Christianity.
      The Peace

    • @FatherJoel
      @FatherJoel 7 років тому +7

      This is true, a fact we recognise. Which is why the Catholic Church acknowledge their sacraments and even allow our faithful to commune at their Divine Liturgy (though this is not to be made a habit). Unfortunately, the same extensions aren't offered from their end!

    The problem at your argument is that the same idea as their Church is the oldest one has the Orthodox Church (from which I'm part of) or the Coptic Church who separated from the Church a couple centuries before the Catholic Church appeared.

      BornAgain happyfriday go your way, Protestantism is dead in Europe it's home, dead in England, dead in Germany Belgium France Holland all of protestant Europe is dead in America it is splinters of 39,000 different truths since 2008 and 5000+ more splinters since. The money what a weak structure to hang your hate on. Our money pays for an orphanage, a school in Africa, a clinic in Africa, a primary school in Czech, a retirement home for the aged, the Church paid for my hospital, We do Matthew 25 because we are good servants. The atheists killed the Catholics here the protestants kept their mouths shut and said Romans 13 and the Catholic Church is alive and Protestantism is dead. Different rewards for courage and cowards. Pagan beliefs What Charlie Romeo Alfa Papa you protestants talk.

    • @thomasmcewen5493

      BornAgain happyfriday Of course that is the level of your skills in debate. In 1942 our priest Protested the deportation of Czechs who were Jewish, he was sent to Dachau and murdered, another priest talk to a girl who wanted to be religious sister that was a crime they both went to jail for three years, five priests signed charter 77 and went to jail, 4000+ religious sisters were arrested and raped, priests were shoot, hung sent to the black brigades to work in the uranium mines or Labour camps where they died. Good luck with Protestantism it is dead here, different rewards for courage and cowards, Protestants used Romans 13 to stay safe. Protestantism is dead in Germany Belgium France Holland England in all of Europe, the apostolic churches are fine. Martyrs does that for a church. Got any Eucharistic miracles?

    • @thomasmcewen5493

      BornAgain happyfriday Ah a one Verse Protestant. Who told you you can privately interpret scripture, not the bible it says you can't. The church interprets not you.

    • @thomasmcewen5493
      @thomasmcewen5493 8 років тому +4

      BornAgain happyfriday forget your arguments because they are not true. Give up on Catholics we are not going to become protestant. Sent missionaries to dead Protestant Europe and rebuild that first. I was born Protestant and spent ten years reading history and theology of both sides and I ain't changing the treasures of the Catholic Church for the three magic beans of protestantism. We are going to have a War here and the apostolic Church can't depend on OSAS to not swear loyality to Allah, you can't earn your salvation and you can't lose it Protestants cannot be trusted. The apostolic coptics who didn't accept Allah got their throats cut couldn't reject Christ, Protestants tell me these martyrs are not Christian, well these Christians are not to be trusted, Lepanto is not a one time event. Do you have eucharistic miracles.

    Pretty obvious Peter had a wife. Why must priests be celibate ? Should they not follow the example of the 1st Pope ?

    • @idontknow5249

      Cyric London It's just discipline, it can be removed anytime. It's not like doctrine or dogma.

    • @poz1
      @poz1 7 років тому +2

      In my opinion its because the rules where not set yet. For example Abraham married his half sister but the rules that forbade that where not given or Law until three hundred years later (When Jews left Egypt). Peter was married and pope but the rules where not set until three hundred years later. (When Constantine legalized Christianity)

    • @FatherJoel
      @FatherJoel 7 років тому +8

      Because Christ was celibate. Like Our Lord, we offer our lives to Father for the sake of the kingdom. It is a discipline of course, but a very good one to my mind, and the church's it would seem! Practically speaking it isn't bad either. My understanding is that Eastern Bishops have a tough time with moving clergy to new appointments due to the fact that the wife has a nearby job and the kids are at the local school etc. Stunts the apostolic life.

    Why is it Catholics have so much double talk, but never really say anything? He still didn't answer the questions. Other religions have been around just as long (or longer), so what makes this one right and the others wrong?

  • @RosannaMiller
    @RosannaMiller 7 років тому +3

    There was a time when I actually had believed that Catholics were Christian. I actually naively believed this at a time I really needed prayer. I had decided to give a Catholic church a call one day when I really needed prayer. I guess I had lost my mind because the priest educated me and helped me see the error in my thinking. I learned from him how incorrect I was in my "assumption".
    I was not Catholic, I was a born again Christian. Since that day I decided that I would not make that mistake again.
    So no, I know that Catholics are not Christian.
    I do concede there may be those who are Christian, although I don't know how but by the Mercy and Grace of the Lord.
    I was raised in the Pentecostal faith. And so, knowing that we are not seen as being Christian by the Catholic faith, it doesn't surprise me when I hear my Brothers and Sisters in Christ preaching against the Catholic church.
