You might want to have a look at everything happening in the northern border regions before Joseon. There's quite a bit of medieval warfare between different kingdoms happening in there. The manchu people eventually got tied into the Chinese empire, but before then, they were one of the biggest ethnic groups in that whole region (now part of Manchuria in China.) You might want to have a look at everything happening in the northern border regions before Joseon. There's quite a bit of medieval warfare between different kingdoms happening in there. These are the exact parallels for how European kingdoms established their power and wealth in the middle ages.
