Political views don't matter. Food is a way to bring everyone together. Your channel is so much more. I've found so many ways to save money and eat well while being delicious. Thank you. You should write a cook book. I'd buy 5 definitely if they're signed. BTW try the MART's GV self rising pizza. Where I live they're 4.44 and is big. Head of lettuce, a few romas, and a bottle of Dollar Tree Italian dressing. Boom!
It's unfortunate that the reality of the situation we find ourselves in ensures that politics is embedded in everything. Personally I agree with your sentiment but things are the way they are.
Political views do matter, because some people are on the side of us and our country, and some are not. Hat's off to Larry, for supporting USA made products and jobs and the American Middle class.
Being apolitical is an inherently political act. It's just wildly ineffective. But enjoy your processed foods whilst the Earth burns. 🤷 "Save money" 'bring everyone together" "eat well" literally all of those things have political implications, you just don't want to think about how they affect others. 🎉
@@SebastianDingleswitch The earth isn't burning. Thats just another way to remove money from you.
The shrimp may not be a formed meat slurry concoction, but if you buy shrimp yourself you should avoid shrimp that have been plumped up with (from this product's ingredients list); Moisture Retention (sodium triphosphate, sodium polyphosphate and trisodium phosphate). Shrimp is a delicate meat and these chemicals destroy the texture and wash out the flavor. That's why you could barely tell, if at all, you were eating shrimp.
Good info.
I hate that they can call it 'moisture retention' when we all know it's only there to artificially plump the shrimp up so they look bigger than they actually are.
Thank you for the tip, I can't say I am surprised considering they do similar with chicken but I didn't know this one.
You could say one issue though is that seafood is more delicate and doesn't last long. Nowhere near beef or chicken for example.
yes, when buying any poultry or seafood, always choose air chilled if possible!
Not only do I love the food reviews, it’s a breath of fresh air to hear a true American who’s not afraid to sound off when necessary! Keep the great content coming.
I will always be grateful to the Red Lobster in my hometown. When I was the "House mom" in a youth shelter home, Red Lobster would donate all their leftovers to us. I'd eagerly await the arrival of leftover baked potatoes, coconut shrimp, seafood-stuffed mushrooms, and crab leg specials to fix up for the teens. Our budget was tight, and their support helped so much!
Damn I want that donation haha
I support The Wolfe Pit, because The Wolfe Pit supports America

America!
I come from Canada, and I support America 👍
I've had their cheddar biscuits mix that you bake yourself and they were really good & tasted just like the restaurant. I haven't seen them or made them in years though.
Found your channel about 5 years ago with your homemade spam recipe. Added a bit of chopped garlic and jalapenos and everyone that tried it said it was the best they ever ate.
So i subscribed to your channel and started watchinh the back videos too. Thank you, my family went nuts over the better than Arby's roast beef sandwiches as well.
Anyways....
I stopped going to Red Lobster because quality really went down hill. I only recently went because I was given a gift card for Christmas. The all you can eat shrimp wasn't bad and the biscuits were very good, but the sides like rice and salad are some of the most generic, flat tasting food I've ever eaten.
And the booze wasn't that bad either, but you know, it's not like you can give margaritas to the kids! 😉
Well . . you can. . . .but😊
I loved the throwback commercial! Ahh, the memories of going to Red Lobster on New Years Eve as a kid😅 You are awesome, never change😅
Casey Kasem aka shaggy! Lol
Thanks so much!!

Would love to see you do a review of the Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits. I'm in southwest Ontario, Canada. I saw them today at Giant Tiger at 2 for $8. Not sure what the regular price is. Anyway, I did buy a box last year (on sale for $2.89) to try. I had to buy and add grated cheddar, butter and parsley. I think there was something else I had to add. As near as I can tell, if I had bought a box today, I would have paid $4 for 2 c of flour and 2 tsp of baking powder and some salt. The only bigger rip off I could imagine would be a ski chalet in Dubai. And I bet they would have included the snow.
We've eaten at Red Lobster and LOVE the biscuits. The first time I had one, I said "I can make this at home"...so I do. Bisquik, cheese, garlic salt.
I learned to make them on youtube.
Regular drop biscuits but add garlic powder, shredded cheddar. I leave out the parsley.
Another good one is drop biscuit but dipped in melted butter and honey for a glaze.🤤🤤
Typical. When you see “complete” and “just add” together, you know they are lying. Those biscuits do rule, though, and the restaurant is still decent but the interiors need a refresh. It’s OK to live in a trailer as long as you don’t have plastic flamingos out front.
Larry - I love you & your videos more than ever after this one. And don't feel down about growing up in a "trailer park" as many great people come from and still live in trailer parks. I feel safer at 3AM in a trailer park than in just about every major city.
I also have a major problem eating either lobster or shrimp as just one bite of either will give me a MAJOR gout attack the next morning.
However after experimenting on myself I found that farm raised Asian shrimp were the worst culprit as well as lobster that was mixed with inferior shrimp. I tried some locally caught shrimp in Maine and had no gout attack. Same for locally caught Maine Lobster.
I concluded that it's the conditions that Asian shrimp are raised in and it is SHOCKING. There are dozens - even hundreds - of bird cages suspended over a pond. they give the birds - usually chicken, turkey, or ducklings - the most inexpensive feed possible - then the birds poop their excrement into the pond below their cages where it is eaten up by the farm raised shrimp.
Stay away from farm raised shrimp and chicken - esp. if it's Asian in origin.
Farm-raised catfish are the bond though. Wild-caught tend to be slimy and a bit foul tasting while Farm-raised tend to be mild and flaky due to being fed primarily on grains, that is if they are origined in the Americas.
1. If you haven't been to Red Lobster lately its still okay but the prices are through the roof!!
2.The cheddar biscuit mix is *FIRE*
I only go when they have the all you can eat shrimp, and I only like one kind of it =x
I been getting the boxed Cheddar Bay Biscuits already ready to cook in the oven and they are AMAZING
And even reheat in the microwave so good, not drying out at all.
Totally addicting, fair warning.
Yup and adding fresh cheddar set them off with a butter glaze 😋
Chicken pot pie with cheddar bay biscuits on top..yummy.
They’re just as easy and cheaper to do from scratch, I’ve had both of my kids prefer the homemade over the box, and I’m definitely not a baker lol
Glad to hear! I just picked up a box of them out of curiosity, haven't made them yet.
I wished that I had som good Kush right now.
I got some Khalifa Kush. Hate the mans music but his weed is top shelf!
Nothing political about supporting local business.
Thanks Larry, I'm smoking that good kush while watching this
Love your down to earth approach!!! I just went to Red Lobster on Columbus Day with my Mom. She’s 95 and loves going to RL. The prices are reasonable and the seafood is great. Everyone loves the cheddar bay biscuits. The frozen ones in the grocery store aren’t as good as in the restaurant. I love the various platters and look forward to Crabfest and Lobsterfest. If you don’t live near the ocean RL is a really good substitute
Maga all the way!!!
Been watching you for years.
Wow, this video had my mouth watering from start to finish! 😋 I've always been curious about Red Lobster's frozen offerings, and this review is incredibly informative. The Parmesan Crusted Garlic & Herb Stuffed Shrimp looks delicious, and your detailed tasting and cooking instructions make it so easy to follow along. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and the cooking process - I'm definitely going to give this a try! Keep up the fantastic work with these food reviews! 👍🦐🧀🌿
WOW !! That was Casey Kasem doing the commercial, LOL You know "America's Top 40" !!!
I thought that was Casey too!
Scooby Dooby Doo
@@TheWolfePit YEP !! I could not believe that, until my brothers told me this long ago, LOL !!. I was NEVER into cartoons. You ARE referring to THAT Scooby guy, right ? Sorry, I just NEVER liked cartoons,
I especially liked how Mrs. Pit color coordinated the pink & white nails with the shrimp!
If people call you a Trumper because you like to buy what has been grown or caught in your own country, they might need to take their anti-stupidity pills. As a Dutchman, I do the same with Dutch food and I am far away from what would be the Dutch equivalent of a Trumper. I don't know your political ideology (nor am I interested) but ones choice of food is not indicative for ones political leanings.
Oh and when people would call you a racist because "you prefer American made" ... maybe politely point out to them that "America" is a country of people of all colors and cultures and if they equate "American" to "White", maybe they are the ones being a bit racist.
That was quite a ride, from seafood to patriotism in less than 5 minutes.... 😊 I love shrimp, went to Red lobster for my birthday last month. I have a great recipe for cheddar bay biscuits too
I'm all for patriotism. I'm a member of the "ABC Club," Anything But China.
Sooo, if it's from Taiwan, Thiland, India, _whatever,_ I still buy it, just not CHY-NAH.
Not sure that's right, but at least I'm not funding the CCP.
The Aldi by us sells some frozen biscuits very similar once a year. They are quite good and I make sure to stock up.
I 100% Agree.
Wow you're on a content producing frenzy.
A good tip for breaded stuff like this, spray it with some of that spray oil stuff to help with giving the breading a nice crispy golden finish, rather than the dried out pale stuff that oven-cooked breading tends to have... :)
Man! Hate to comment off topic. But you really brought back some fond memories with that little photo montage!
Archie, Edith and The Ponderosa Steak House!
"Those were the Days"
Thanks Mr. Pit!
Things are definitely backwards when being a proud American means you’re a bad person…what’s up with that, Brandon?
Larry, the shrimp is probably farm raised which has no flavor, wild caught only for me
I hope my future partner is as passionate about me as trailer trash larry is about the US commercial fishing industry.
I don't give a shit who you support! I love your videos and agree100% about buying usa seafood!
Maybe you should stop the politics. Its unnerving. Food is universal.
I went to a Red Lobster twice recently. I enjoyed their endless shrimp. The crispy dragon shrimp is very tasty. I like their mac & cheese. The broccoli was well seasoned. I will be going back soon.
Go back while they are still in business. Ours closed up overnight with no warning, just a sign on the door.
So exactly what do you do after you review food?
Throw it away? I absolutely hope not. I'm curious to know actually.
As a non-American, limiting myself to food (and other products) produced in my country would be near impossible. Neither agriculture nor manufacturing exists sufficiently to provide the domestic market with everything required.
Consequently, I do not care where (or how) things are made. If I can save even a very small amount of money by buying from abroad then I shall happily do so. The bottom line trumps _all_ other concerns for me.
Smokn the good kush🎉
Ponderosa and the ground round were my favorite when i was a kid
Good content! 👍
First time I ate at Red Lobster I had the Rock Zilla, for a few dollars more they gave me a bigger lobster tail. They do not have this any more. I don't think it is lobster any more, the lobster tails now look like langoustine. Even there cheddar bay biscuits don't taste the same.
Yep Red Lobster has turned into Red Plopster over the decades. I fondly remember the Neptune Platter with the fried oysters and other deliciousness. Now who knows what any of it is made of?
I used to get the ultimate feast I loved the crab legs and lobster tail and the biscuit was good infact the whole meal was good for 19.99 [now24.99] was a steal
Three pieces of shrimp is one serving?!!! Not in my house.
That salad on the side seems pretty good, but yeah topping the salad with the shrimp seems pretty un appetizing.
Red Lobster IS owned by a Thailand seafood company; Chicken of Sea is its sister company.
Wiki says....
"Red Lobster Hospitality LLC is an American casual dining restaurant chain headquartered in Orlando, Florida. The company has operations across most of the United States (including Puerto Rico and Guam) and Canada, as well as in China, Ecuador, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates; as of June 23, 2020, the company had 719 locations worldwide.[6][1] Golden Gate Capital became Red Lobster's parent company when it was acquired from Darden Restaurants on July 28, 2014.[7] Seafood supplier Thai Union acquired a 25 percent stake in the company in 2016 for a reported $575 million, and in 2020 purchased the remaining portion from GGC.[8]"
There's no reason why supporting American businesses and manufacturing shouldn't be bipartisan. World trade can be a win-win affair -- but not if the interests of U.S. workers isn't part of trade agreements. Thanks for your comment on the topic.
BTW the moisture retention chemicals in the shrimp probably is why the texture and flavor was off. Any fish that gets that treatment is gonna be substandard.
God Bless America. God should give red lobster a blessing, they were bloody awful the last time we ate there. My shrimp, my piece of fish were rubber. A flip flop would probably taste better.
I remember red lobster back when I was a kid, and it was a treat.
Because of this I wouldn't even try their frozen stuff. Except for their biscuits.
Idk how anyone could call u a racist with ur comment! The companies are doing an injustice to everyone. Us American (taking away jobs and offering lower quality foods) and the ppl over seas( paying them pennies just because they can).
Imagine if we had the jobs here that were outsourced. This would be a different america for sure
"That sounds like a$$" 🤣🤣🤣, Red Lobster is solid enough food but since they merged with Darden if you've eaten at Olive Garden it isn't too much different
why would you think somebody would call you racist because you buy American Products I look for American Products every time I go I pay a little extra
I don't mind your views, as long as you're consistent and practice what you preach. I appreciate your support of American jobs, it comes from your convictions.
Supporting small businesses in America doesn't make you racist. There is Hmong cafe in my town that is absolutely killing it and living the American dream!
Appreciate your channel and content and also appreciate your patriotism. Notice I did not say politics. I have my own, but patriotism Trumps politics.
We have a Red Lobster near us. My wife and I go every now and then for something different. Its always been good so no complaints here.
Also, thanks for openly supporting American businesses. :)
My advice: don't give any energy to political comments on your videos. It just isn't worth the risk of getting dragged crossed the internet.
Cheddar bay biscuits. Bisquick, old bay, cheddar cheese. Same thing but cheaper than the box mix.
I always eat tail
Wearing ladies nails? Tammy your sister? Explains alot.
How could anyone not like you? You're the best, Larry! God bless America!
💯 !!
I, the person, agree that fried shrimp would be horrible on a cool salad. Even a warm fall salad with some roasted veggies wouldn’t be good with fried shrimp on top, that’s just too much oil and richness to go with a good light salad
I like warm shrimp on cold salad
I'd have upped the serving size to four pieces. That way you get more, and no fighting at the end over the rest of the shrimp!
Ooooh! Shakey's Pizza! Loved that place!
😂😂😂 you get three laughing faces for that joke. And your a by America for America.
how do you notice a 2 second clip of ed oneil yet not mention Casey Kasem being the nararrator of the top 40 commercial lol
You had me at trump supporter❤❤❤❤
I totally KNEW there was a reason I liked you!
Thumbs up, Larry!
lol this dude always interjecting politics and making fun of mentally ill people with a bad impression. really embarrassing i hope his kids dont watch this
Agreed I would want cocktail shrimp on a cold salad. Not hot shrimp.
I stopped eating at Red Lobster 20 years ago, over priced seafood that is not all that good.
I don't understand how being proud to be an American became an unpopular opinion.
Was that Casey Kasem doing the voice over on that Red Lobster commercial?
The shrimp is farmed raised so it will always lack taste, second the meal is overpriced lol
I'm glad we have The Wolf Pit to Keep "Us" the people informed.
Kudos to you sir, for supporting the AMERICAN economy!
I will unsubscri...
Who am I kidding. I really like your videos.
You have my support Sir!! Can we see some video of your new kitchen??
You do sound like a deplorable Trumper but I'll let it slide. You seem like a good dude aside from that fact. 🤣
Man, I miss Ponderosa from back in the day, as a kid it was my 5 star resturant.
Any sea food that is frozen is just okay at best. We have struggled to find good fish and chips. Nothing frozen is worth it. Luckily a food truck comes through once in a while with London Fish and Chips. They are outstanding. It’s just a shame frozen can’t be flavorful. But can’t always get what ya want.
Was that Casey Kasem as the Red Lobster commercial "voice"?
Geeze Larry, who whizzed in your oatmeal this morning?
Hahaha when you said "that sounds like ass" I burst out laughing. You're hilarious!
I quit going to Red Lobster in the early 90's. They used to have scallops on the menu and I loved to get the fired scallops. Then they took it off of them menu and I haven't been back since. The bread they served was always really good too.
Married... With Children. A show I grew up on watching. 😥
I would not pay that for a frozen meal, and sodium up the ass
FJB🤙😁 Keep doing what you're doing.
Not easy to say blue plate special 😂
you never know English is my first language would you LOL
Yah. The 60s, 70s and 80s when you got value for your money.
Supporting American jobs isn’t a Red or Blue thing. My liberal Navy veteran a** is right there along side you there Wolfie. The folks who are buying that other stuff may know the price of everything, but they don’t know the cost.
Great video, never mind the haters, they're irrelevant
Ate there twice recently the food was excellent they really know what there doing with shrimp
Nothing wrong with supporting your own country man.
Shrimp for people who don't want to taste shrimp.
Oh, I remember as a kid back in the early 80s eating at Red Lobster with the family on special occasions, & it was amazing. I'd get the surf & turf, with king crab legs about as big as my arm. You won't find those crab legs there today. Its NOTHING like it used to be!!!
Very cool!
Casey Kasem narrated that first commercial ❤
I like red lobster but it'd getting expensive
Thanks so much for all the great uploads recently! You are spoiling us!
Be sure to take time for yourself. We will never leave you!
I love The Wolfe Pit! TELL IT LIKE IT IS!😎🙏🙌
All these restaurants are frozen food they cook in their kitchen. But we still eat there anyway.
That is true
Back in my day (early 90s) we had either red lobster or sizzler. I've heard there's still a few sizzlers left.
Remember Ponderosa?
last time i went to Red Lobster was for my birthday 2 years ago. we dont go there that often. anyways honestly the last dish I had wasnt that great...kind of underwelming. which is weird because Red Lobster used to be bomb! or maybe that was just not a great dish(i honestly forgot what it was but some sort of seafood pasta) now if we want to do fancy seafood we go to our local seafood boil place seems so much tastier! pretty expensive though!
One of the things you didn't mention about the Asian seafood trade is the live catch fleet are basically slave ships. They not only trick workers on board but literally chain them up when in port so they can't escape. Many of the trawlers stay in international waters and transfer the catch at sea. A good source of fresh supermarket seafood in the southeast is "Publix", and yes it costs more, but folks in Louisiana gotta eat too.. I still have to get frozen octopus from Asia, but that's coastal fishing.
