  • Only a few resorts allow RVs and vans to camp overnight on their property. Luckily, Winter Park is one of them! It's actually one of the more convenient ones we've stayed at.
Just a couple-minute drive or a 15-minute walk, and you're on the slopes!
We got pretty lucky while we were there too. OVER A FOOT OF SNOW!
They allowed overnight parking for 3 days in the G lot of the resort. Security appreciates a heads-up before you show up, and they will direct you where to go. Very nice people!
Winter Park earned a spot on our list of the top 5 ski resorts in the country!
Our rig is a 2023 Grand Design Imagine XLS 22RBE.

I love that you can squeeze some runs in before, between, and after work. You might say it's 'peak' efficiency.

I have a very similar travel trailer with Starlink. I saw that you had it up on your slide. Do you do anything to keep it from falling over and damaging the top?

Thanks for the comment Doug. Short answer is no, but we should. We have it sitting on the side and it doesn’t seem to do any damage when on there or the roof, but when the wind starts to pick up I place it on the ground in case it tips over. However it find the stand is pretty sturdy.
I have seen little rubber inserts you can put on the legs to reduce scratching too. Maybe this is my sign to get some!
Have you had any problems with it?

Thanks for the info. I have always put mine on the ground and have never had it tip over, but with my luck it would if I put it on the slide. I don’t have a back ladder, same as you, so I have been looking a the best mounting options. I don’t really want a permanent mount since I park in the trees at times and want to put it in the best spot.

I totally agree. Some spots aren't great for a permanent mount. It's super easy just to open the door and throw it on the slide, but have the option to put it further away to avoid the trees.
