im 16 and i have scoliosis but i am wearing a back brace. the back brace decreased my scoliosis to 15° now which im very grateful and happy for but just the thought of having to wear it 20 hours a day has a very negative effect on me but at the same time i want this pain to leave for good bcs im tired of feeling this pain every day and some other stuff also :/ so yeah basically scoliosis is not just physical effects but also emotional and im happy people are understanding that!
@@sarahsebaa82 Hey! So I still have scoliosis but it’s not visible at all since it’s not too much. The reason why it didn’t go to 0° lets say is because i stopped wearing the back brace again because i chose my comfort over wearing it. But it’s okay and people with scoliosis can wear and do whatever people without scoliosis can do! It doesn’t affect me mentally anymore although some days i do have some physical pain
@@elena_05x62 hey happy to hear from you, i actually have scoliosis and doctor didnt prescrit the braces for me but im willing to do it so that it doesnt increase with time, thats why i wanted to hear from you and i really encourage you to get it back so that it will be gone since your still young and you have chance for it to disapear at 100%
I have pain and I have scoliosis my primary care doctor told me that scoliosis does not cause pain ( thought he was crazy) now I understand the pain could be from disorders that I have. I do have bulging disc or degenerate disc I also have arthritis. With these other conditions I am sometimes more often than not in a lot of pain. Your comparison using a car is very helpful in understanding my condition. I think I had my scoliosis when I was a child but my mom didn't know. I do remember her telling me to straighten up my posture, or she would adjust my shoulders. My mom was a seamstress so she made all of my clothes as a result I was always being fitted for some type of clothing item. I remember when I danced I would sometimes feel unbalanced or awkward and I didn't know why. I was diagnosed with disc problems in the late 80's and diagnosed with arthritis around the same time and scoliosis in 2013 by my former chiropractor. I am looking for a specialist, however in this area it is hard to find one there are plenty of doctors and chiropractors who treat the condition but they don't really know about it ( my primary care doctor finally admitted he don't know a lot about scoliosis) therefore I get all kinds of conflicting answers. My PT says one thing my chiropractor says another and the orthopedic says another and my primary care says something else all pertaining to the same question or questions I have. This is very frustrating. So I get my understandings and answers from your videos, and I have called your office to speak to one of your staff members. I only wish I lived in your area. Now I have a question what is conservative treatment for scoliosis. I have been in PT and ngo to a Chiropractor. for many years now my curve has changed from 25 to 34 to now 40. I am doing what I am told to do to try and stop my curve from getting worse. But latest X rays in October of this year shows that 40 degree and I am a 73 year old woman. If you have any suggestions I would thouroughly appreciate any help. Thank you and please continue teaching about scoliosis. I pray my condition doesn't get worse I do not want any surgery it's too dangerous and fusing no thanks. My orthopedic did offer an oral cortisone medicine prednisone when I saw him this week I didn't say ok and I didn't say no. So it's up in the air.

Discomfort! It is awful some days! Today is one of the days. My hips,my right rib and my scapula is aching non stop. My back as a whole is so tight and stiff. I do have severe scoliosis,so I have been told, but I am very flexible. I am not complaining only explaining. :)

I recently been diagnosed with scoliosis after reporting chronic back pain to my doctor. He discovered my right shoulder higher than my left and a curve in my spine. I don;t know how bad it is but it is still painful even after doing the exercises he gave me, so I have to go back to the physio. The way I explain the pain is like its waves of pain flowing through ,it is really excruciating pain.

No one has ever done a x-ray of my spine while I bend. You are explaining exactly how I feel. I wish my medical team knew more. What are conservative approaches to reducing the curve. That part I don't understand.
