The Gregale (Catalan: Gregal, Italian: Grecale, Lombard: Grecal, Maltese: Grigal, Occitan: Gregau, Greek: Γραίγος, Graigos) is a Mediterranean wind that can occur during times when a low-pressure area moves through the area to the south of Malta and causes a strong, cool, northeasterly wind to affect the island. It also affects other islands of the Western Mediterranean. The Italian name "Grecale" could be translated as Greek wind, as the wind starts at the Ionian Island Zakynthos.

I recently purchased a well equipped Modena with 21" wheels for under 70K. I think if you can get a Modena under 70k or GT in the low 60's these are a value. I've owned the Stelvio Quad an Guila and like Alfa, the next-gen lineup of Maseratis are under rated. Interior quality best in class, design checks all the boxes and offers more originality the it's peers and the performance and engine package is solid. Car has a ok exhaust note and 5.0 to 60mph is quick enough. If you have-to-have a V6 the Stelvio Quad is about as good as they come.
Absolutely gorgeous vehicle from every angle. But I'm not paying $85k for a 4-cyl anything(with the possible exception of the incoming Lotus Emira). Love your video's. Between the Audi Sq5, or amped up Audi/Porsche Macan... I prefer the BMW X3 M40. Less coin, faster, and just looks good. This Maserati is about 10k more and is in line with the Porsche but doesn't really offer any more in content other than exclusivity...and she really is gorgeous. We have owned 3 Q5's in both variations and are leaning towards the BMW for the reasons mentioned above. I'm still trying to talk the wife into the slightly larger BMW X5 or even larger Audi Q7 or even the Q8. All great cars...decisions decisions....
I had an X5, it was always in the garage and always cost a fortune. There's a reason there's a lot of used BMWS on the lots, as soon as the warranty is gone need to trade it in. Would never buy a BMW or Mercedes again.
If the driving experience had a greater appeal than the other areas of the vehicle, I assume more attention would’ve been given to it as part of this review.
Decent review. You forgot to mention that you have to press Accept on the entertainment system every time you start the vehicle which would annoy the heck out of me.
SUVs aren’t exactly my cup of tea and I’ve never been a fan of Maserati but I’ve looked at it carefully at the Maserati dealership few weeks ago and I have to recognise the build quality of this car is at Bentley level, far better than Porsche and BMW. Shame they used here those little air vent chrome knobs from Alfa Tonale but it is clear that sharing platform and components with other models from the group helps reducing costs, at VAG they’re masters at it. Overall I think this car is very good value for money and I’m quite surprised of myself saying that because I have a poor opinion of Stellantis but at the end of the day shareholders Exor (Agnelli and Elkann) also have Ferrari in their portfolio maybe they’re smart enough to fund and leave Maserati engineers working in peace doing their things. Hopefully.

I still have my Alfa 4C a 4Cyl 237 hp that turns more heads than virtually anything on the road with a 4 cyl exhaust that sounds better than most V6 (i.e Macan). ..and you should change the title. In my book, the Macan is not the reference SUV to beat in this category. We have to remember that like all Porsche SUVs, the Macan is buiilt over VW/Audi parts and chassis. Depending on what you're looking for, the X3/X4 are better options than the Macan. More space, better engine, good handling as well. The F-Pace from Jag is also a very good option. And for pure handling, we've also the Stelvio which shares the platform with this one. ...so the Grecale might handle very good as well (maybe not as good as the Stelvio, because it's bigger and heavier).
Comfort, design, interior layout, naming some. There is burger king, there is McDonalds, there kfc, there’s Wendys etc. There is something for everyone. That’s the beauty about capitalism the freedom to choose.
I think this Maserati may be the Porsche Macan killer, but not an Audi Q5 killer. However, I still recommend the Q5 over the Grecale for a better compact luxury crossover SUV.

Not enough knowledge on the Maserati Levante or the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Not a bad review but for this professional of a video and missing the model names is …
I own a Grecale: the design of the infotainment is horrific. So is the placement of the gear selectors and the stupid idea to have them as buttons. Right above the touch screen for the climate control. These design flaws wear you down over the time. Have you heard the three chimes when you start the car? The accept button every time? Do you like the loud sound of the turn signal? The audio mute also doesn't hold. Any messages on CarPlay make the stereo come back on etc etc etc so many bugs. Sadly there is a reason Porsche sells 4x more Macans than the entire annual production of Maserati. Oh and I forgot: good luck giving your car to a valet. You have to give them instructions through the open window
I guess many people forget to check dimensions of the 'small' italian SUVs. The design tricks people into believe they're on the smaller side of the segment. ...I've seen it several times in reviews of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio that has similar dimensions (even slighly wider) than its competitors X3, X4, GLC, XC60, etc. ...and I suppose it's going to happen a lot more with the Grecale that it's a stretched Stelvio (same Giorgio chassis) and clearly bigger than all others in this segment.
@@miks564 True, the 2022 Macan is not a small SUV by any means, the GLA or Q2 fit in that segment. The 2022 Macan is 31cm larger than the GLA, that's a lot.
@@AboveInShadow You're right! The Macan is also bigger than I expected it to be! But anyway, comparing it to the GLA or the Q2 is not fair, they do not belong in this segment. The Macan is built over the Q5 platform and competes with it and the rest of the Q5 competitors, like the X3, X4, GLC, Volvo XC60, Jaguar F-Pace and of course, also the Alfa Romeo Stelvio that shares the platform with this Grecale. ..however, the Grecale is so big I would say it sits between this segment and the next.
It shares many components with the Stelvio, it's built in the same factory over the same superb Giorgio platform. ...but believe me, I can see it's way more refined than the Stelvio (and a lot bigger)
@@SamCarLegionwell, for arguments sake, let’s compare it to a Macan S. The Macan S destroys the Grecale Modena, both of which cost around the same. A Macan GTS could be had for around $90,000, which totally blows this out of the water.

@@USA79999 Have you ever driven a Maserati Grecale? That's very unlikely. I don't think you drove any other car of the Giorgio platform, either (Giulia, Stelvio)
Maserati has a prestigious name and so creating something this dull will sell like crazy just from the name. The front looks like a ford puma and the rear like an audi q8 with no lightbar and the screen looks as if the inspiration was a nintendo 2ds. I would stick with porsche since yes they are everywhere, but that is also probably due to the fact that they dont fall apart two years after you buy one.
The Macan sleeps safely tonight.
Not for long 😂
@@thatr34monster49 It's been sleeping soundly since 2014.

Does it come with remote start?
Yep
Congratulation for your Italian pronounce!👍🏻
U gotta be kidding I owned Levante S and Macan S and almost a year 2022 Macan GTS, absolutely incomparable cars, different level of workmanship, refinement, drive everything.Remember Levante was 50% Chrysler, so incredibly cheap inside, and every 2-3 months in a dealership during 3years of ownership, thank God it was a lease

There’s only one thing that’s faster than a Maserati, it’s deprecation.

..and you should change the title.
Cool.
I'd still take srt Durango or trackhawk
You couldn’t afford either😂
@quintongodfrey3449 maybe but I can afford your mom 5 nights a week.
We know you only buying those junk for the engine, nothing special
Nice review, I watched it all. I'd still rather have a 15 year old Rav4 3.5 V6 awd and the difference in cash
Fair enough!
Lol
Nice review but a bit biased I would say! I loved the way you deliberately avoid mentioning the word “Stelvio” throughout the video! 😂
What about the Stelvio?
Very disappointed with the rear seats. Absolutely should have heated seats. Should also have ventilated rear seats.
Best look but I wonder if the quality and reliability is any good
Porsche laughs as hard as Maserati's depreciation
I haven't seen somebody driving a Porsche ever in my life. I've seen a few Maseratis driving around though. Just saying.
I love this!!! Best SUV in its class! Just a tad too small for ny taste. I can’t wait for the Levante to get this new interior!!

How does Maserati fare in terms of reliability and longevity when matched against Porsche?

Yes
It doesn't look like a cheap ass Chrysler anymore at least. They put effort in here.
How can this Italian compact luxury crossover SUV beat 2 German compact luxury crossover SUVs which are the Audi Q5 and Porsche Macan?
Comfort, design, interior layout, naming some. There is burger king, there is McDonalds, there kfc, there’s Wendys etc. There is something for everyone. That’s the beauty about capitalism the freedom to choose.
I think this Maserati may be the Porsche Macan killer, but not an Audi Q5 killer. However, I still recommend the Q5 over the Grecale for a better compact luxury crossover SUV.
The shifter paddles on F1 cars are mounted on the steering wheel. I don't own nor have I ever driven a vehicle with paddle shifters. But, one would think that mounting the paddle shifters on the steering wheel would be the best place.
Steering ratio of a F1 car is quite different from road cars. So it is good that you are always certain about what is upshift and downshift 😉

Is the build quality any better than a Fiat? Could prove to be something if it can prove to be dependable and reliable
Grecale’s 3.0L is not similar to Quadrifoglios’ one. It is heretical
Not enough knowledge on the Maserati Levante or the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Not a bad review but for this professional of a video and missing the model names is …

Disappointed it has a digital dash. I only buy analog gauges.
If the car is 101000$ you pay 20% of 1000$, so you pay taxes on what is above 100000$
Fiat Tipo in the rear, Ford Puma in the front.
As expected, uninspiring design. Nothing compared to the pre ‘90s daring designs.
who decided on a push button gear selector? fire him/her
🤓🤓
Jeep campus screen and switch gear.
12cm larger and 5cm wider than a Macan.
Good points there
I guess many people forget to check dimensions of the 'small' italian SUVs.

The car is gorgeous but the tail lights is complete disappointment 💔👎🏼
The back looks a little disappointing in my opinion

This isn’t anywhere close to a Porsche Macan GTS. Absurd to think it is, frankly shouldn’t even compare the two.
Who said this is a comparison to the GTS?
@@SamCarLegionwell, for arguments sake, let’s compare it to a Macan S. The Macan S destroys the Grecale Modena, both of which cost around the same. A Macan GTS could be had for around $90,000, which totally blows this out of the water.
