  • In this video I explore the question sponge daubers vs blending brushes to demonstrate the differences when used to apply ink to stencils. I use the same inks and the same stencils, so you can really see the differences side by side. Which do you think works better?

This is a little late to be responding but.... better late than never!
Finger daubers for more detailed stencil but takes more time but worth it. It is more rich and detailed. (this was the second stencil.)
Wand daubers for less detailed stencil. Definitely quicker. Quicker is sometimes better.

Very interesting, I really liked the brush one better on the flower. But I thought the medallion one was more pronounced using the dauber. I am new to inking and not very good, maybe due to being a perfectionist. I do however ink most of my paper piecings for my layouts. I am a work in process, but I think I may purchase a blending brush and try it out for my inking. Thanks for sharing this, it was very interesting and thought provoking.

I'm new to ink blending like this too! I've always used a dauber and inked around everything going on a scrapbook layout. Inking backgrounds and layered designs is new for me. I really like working with the brushes! Check out the Christmas Card video I did!
