  • Poi body tracers are one of my favorite types of poi tricks! Here are 5 of the most essential body tracers culled from poi spinners I've encountered all over the world! These tricks run the gamut of beginner to intermediate poi tricks, so hopefully there's something in here for everyone!
    Body tracing with poi is a great way to engage your body in your poi spinning! In this poi body tracers tutorial I'm going to break out several of my favorite poi body tracing moves. You'll find some easy poi tricks in this list as well as poi tricks intermediate in nature or close thereabouts. I'll break a few down in a poi tricks tutorial as best I can and point you guys to the tricks that I've already covered in other poi tutorials! Best of all, I finish this one out with a poi combo that incorporates all these different pieces together.

    I can't even begin to tell you how helpful you are! I've been performing poi for 4+ years and have finally fell into a bit of a rut and was finding it difficult to learn anything new, but you've re-ignited the spark, so to say! Thank you so much for the effort you put into these.

      Hey Gunter! Glad you're liking the return to longer-form videos. The fact that there's so many platforms to get in touch with me by is part of the problem--it's easy for me to lose messages. Thank you for all the great content! I'm just starting to practice with pois (well, this obliviously is too advanced for me, but it's inspiring to watch). I just got an idea that it would be really useful if you use a second camera that shoots from the side so that the planes and angles of the pois are clear. That would be great 😊 Keep up!

    Hey drex I’m having a hard time with body tracings, I think it’s my weight and I was wondering if you know if heavier set peeps have more issues getting tricks down? I know this is a sensitive topic for a lot of people but I’m curious how this has effected people wanting to swing poi. Thanks for all you do, it’s helping me with my arthritis and keeping me moving.

    You know, I think "The G" was actually shown to me in Australia back in 2009/10. Snakes certainly was an adaptation from clubs. I remember working on this at the British Juggling Convention. Back in 2005 I spent a year or 2 playing with clubs which seeded several crossovers. Poi snakes, floats, fishtales and plane changing were all inspired by exploration with clubs.

    Drex iv been trying for ages to get the nevisoul move down. My problem is im only comfortable doing crossers from a forward weave on my right side with my left arm on top of my right. I think your video shows the move the reverse of this (poi spinning in the other direction). Could you please please please do a video of the nevisoul move with the poi going in the other direction or in both directions with a transition, i think if a nail the move one way it will make its reverse countepart easyier to get

    I like to do archer fountains in quarter time, basically offsetting one and having it slightly lagging behind if that's what quarter time means lol

    • @DrexFactor

      Brave soul! My archers always veer close to quarter time mainly because I find keeping the timing quite challenging in itself.

    So I've seen spinners do a 360 turn with the 'G' tracer but I'm having so much difficulty understanding the timing and where my hands should go when I turn, any chance for a tutorial/tips?

    • @tubularG
      @tubularG 3 роки тому

      Remember, turning will switch the direction you spin the poi. So outwards opposites will become inwards opposites. If you're looking to turn and continue the same trick you'll need to learn the inwards opposites version. Quick tip, the tracing will switch from travelling up to travelling down with inwards opposites

    • @Izik8890
      @Izik8890 3 роки тому

      @@tubularG ha! Hopefully Jo has already figured this out by now ;) yes - that's a very good point - with all turns the first step would be to know the trick both ways, then do 180 turn in both directions and then combine two 180 turns. Trying it all at once always just leads to crashing and tangling for me
