    Fun fact: the turtle position is actually the ASL sign for Sea Turtle. Well named.

    I'm still trying to get this right, but I found it helpful to practice the wrap with one poi at a time to get the angles and timing right. You can even use the free hand to practice the hand position. You not only get to try a simpler movement without the second poi, but also avoids them get entangled and having to disentangle on every attempt.

    Thx for the tip with the Turtle position, defenitly trying that one.
    One tip, that helped me, was to start the wraps with hands Above each other and far apart

    i learned the other spiral wraps where u actually wrap the rope around ur wrist first and then enter the spiral. that makes it all so much easier if ur having problem with getting the poi to spin around ur hand and not ur fingers.

    I suppose there aren't a lot of glowstringing tricks that have become super popular in poi, but I for one use a *ton* of glowstring-origin tricks. I would love to see more people doing other kinds of body wraps, for example.

    I find it easier to get into wraps from a tuck weave or just a regular old 3 or 2 beat in case any one else struggled to get into wraps from windmill as a beginner!!

    Thanks for the tutorial. I had problems getting accomplishing this trick, so I moved on to other tricks instead. Main issue was with them getting away from me which you addressed perfectly. I'm also using Pod Poi which aren't ideal for spiral wraps, but i'm sure they'll work fine when I get these down.

    • @seshumarioku
      @seshumarioku 4 роки тому +1

      I can confirm that pod poi won't slow you down once you got them. I do my wraps kind of awkward and differently, but can enter and exit them cleanly. I also use pod poi

    That snap instead of pulling the tethers apart is beautiful. I've had spiral wraps down quite well for a couple months, however I seem to place my hands in a different way. The backs of my hands end up touching with my palms facing outwards, thumbs facing up. I keep the poi between my index and middle fingers. Its gonna be a pain to unlearn that haha

    Thank you for these tips!! I’ve been trying to learn this one using my ultrapoi for a while now and it feels like the tethers on those poi are too thick/stiff for this one but it’s probably just me😅

    I need help, when i exit my wrap the poi always exit together, like same time not split time, and i think there might be something else than just the timing of the snap and i fear my poi are just inadequate for contact so if you know a reason for the bad exits please tell me. Update
    5 mins after commenting i did for the first time thats karma

    I'm struggling with getting an extra wrap on one of the poi that the other doesn't seem to have. Like my right hand will finish and the left hand will still have one revolution to go until I snap. I'm not sure if I'm bringing them together at the wrong time, one is slipping off, or what?

    • @evandavis7
      @evandavis7 7 місяців тому +1

      Old comment, I know, but someone out there might benefit from reading.
      I was having the same issue, but I think I figured it out! It seems like I was putting my hands together too early while one of the leashes was somewhere between my hands, which made it start wrapping earlier than the other and come out of the wrap looking like together/same instead of split/same.
      I think the time to bring your hands together is just before one poi is straight up and the other is straight down. I tried slowing myself down *just* before bringing them together, and then once they're about to hit the straight up/down position, snapped back to full speed when bringing my hands together.
      Also, I was having a bit of trouble with the tether slipping off the ends of my fingers, and realized that spreading them out (like Drex does the entire video 😅) helps a lot to keep them where you want them, along with making sure they're both on an even plane.
      Hope this helps!

      If you think that supporting the Black community is politics rather than basic humanity then don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

    • @jimmybrisket449
      @jimmybrisket449 4 роки тому +2

      Advocating safety for black Americans should be a non-political basic human rights issue, the fact that conservative media has made it a political argument isn't on everyone else to avoid saying things that you inexplicably disagree with.
      Understand that your decision of trying to call attention to your self disagreeing reflects on yourself and not anyone else. I'd call it republican virtue signalling but its anything but virtuous, just divisive and very self-revealing.
