The tenor who sang this aria was Luciano Pavarotti and he gave us, in my opinion, the best rendition of this aria. There are many others that Luciano sang, in fact he sang the most famous of all the arias, one that you will love: "La donna e mobile" of the opera Rigoletto. Check it out and, again, welcome to wonderful world of Opera. And wait till you hear the ladies! Best to you and thanks for sharing!

You should be proud. I’m not Italian but I’m very thankful for Italy’s many amazing contributions to our world including the incomparable Pavarotti!

How does a human voice even do that? It's supernatural.

As italian Pavarotti make me pride but in reality he belongs to all mankind, the true, eternal music, like the Italian Classical Opera, has no passport, everyone with a sensible soul can appreciate it.

The original song is made by italian composer and the italian tenor sings it in his mother tongue! But he is not just an italian singer. He is just universal singer even though he passed away.
      Bellissimo!

Music. So wonderful that it can reach into us and touch parts we didn't know we had.
I was stopped in traffic once, on a mountain highway. Rocks on the road had one lane closed, so we were sitting for quite a while, waiting for the traffic to clear so we could go. I opened the windows on my car, cranked up the volume and laid back while the music echoed off the rock face. It wasn't opera, but it was orchestral (Dragonheart soundtrack, "To The Stars"). Minutes later, a woman came to my window, having heard the music from several cars back. She wanted to know what it was, and said it was the most beautiful thing she'd ever heard.
And she was right. Music. Simply magical.

Now you know why people fall in love with Opera. You don't have to understand the language for the music to touch your soul. I recommend you look at Mario Lanza, he was Pavarotti's , Domingo's and Carreras's favorite tenor.
