Thank you. "Homelessness " has become a broad brush "diagnosis" made by others who have not experienced much of the trauma you described, and have not heard the stories you shared. You're on the right track. God bless.
Thank you for this important perspective. Yes, it can happen to any of us. This is so important for us all to be aware of. Great closing statement: "It's not a 'them' problem, it's a 'we' problem." Absolutely.
Totally. Also I feel she missed another idea: maybe you're doing well enough you can miss a paycheck or even a few. But say you develop an illness and can't work for months, will you still make it? Or if this illness costs a lot?
@@stephaneboisjoli1320 I hear you. There are a lot of points to cover in this topic... just to clarify, I'm not saying she missed anything. I was showing gratitude for all that she DID cover.
That’s true. We’re one paycheque away from being homeless. My friend, a senior, can’t afford rent anywhere. He’s barely getting by thanks to a friend of his. In a terrible unfinished basement next to the water heater. Homelessness has no age barrier.
Thank you so much for your eloquent words and for sharing some truth. I am recently housed in an SRO in Houston Texas. They have a really great housing first approach that has significantly reduced the homeless population. I became homeless because a piece of paper (restraining order) was not going to protect me from my stalker. I gave up my entire life and disappeared halfway across the country to protect my life. I am grateful every day for having supportive services housing and it brings me hope for others to see people like you spreading love, understanding and knowledge of what homelessness truly is. WE are all human beings, brothers and sisters, and WE ALL need to help each other. ✌️❤️
me too...me too. I am just now (after over 8 years) trying to come out of hiding and it is more than hard to do so. A restraining order, has never stopped a bullet, stab wound, etc... It seems ridiculous to me when the unknowing asks "so, did you get a restraining order?' Last night, while driving, I noticed a woman being beaten until her clothes began to fall off of her. Immediately, I stopped. My child began to cry and scream please get us out of here. Reluctantly, I pulled off and called 911. Sick to my stomach, because I couldn't get him off of her without endangering my child. Moreover, I know that the police never rescued me from abuse. They ALWAYS showed up much later or not at all. This is not to down officers. I get it. They are trying to make it home alive. Nonetheless, most people don't understand, because having a close friend or family member who went through this does not necessarily provide the required empathy and understanding. This is why I am desperately trying to start a non-profit organization to help others who have survived stalking and/or domestic violence. I can't sleep right wondering if she made it through her brutal beating. You are right we need each other. I pray that love and understanding drowns out ignorance, indifference, hatred, and cruelty.
Kimberly, I want to express my gratitude for the captivating video and the inspiring message you shared. Your words really resonated with me. Last month, I had the opportunity to assist a homeless couple by providing them with a home and supporting them financially until they can regain stability. Witnessing their progress has been incredibly heartwarming. They've been diligently applying for numerous jobs and recently received a video interview opportunity. Their journey has been so impactful that they're considering writing a book about their experiences, shedding light on the societal blindness that often exists. Your eloquent explanation of the concept, "it's not a 'them' problem, but a 'we' problem," struck a chord with me. We must recognize that we all share this planet and bear a collective responsibility toward one another. Any of us could face such hardships, making it vital to approach challenges together with empathy and compassion. Thank you once again for your powerful message, Kimberly.
Finally. A Ted X. I can watch and appreciate.... My heart has always been for the homeless too. Thank you dear lady. ... There's so many heart warming people out there on the streets.... I love that song Paradise. Still play it often God Bless you ❤️🙏🙌
People refuse to listen when they think they’re better than experiencing such problems. Negating the fact that they don’t know someone else’s experience, resources or perspective. Or that it could happen to them, suddenly, due to many factors outside of control. You TRULY are unaware that systems in-place aren’t good until it happens to YOU! It’s a domino effect to cope! It’s devastating and full of trauma! Compassion > judgment
That's why they want to believe that "homeless people are drug addicts or alcoholics." It protects them from having to say, "There but for the grace of God go I."
Same housing challenged too with a child staying with a very toxic family member whom tries to chastise my child because we have to stay here and although monthly offer of rent is done by me plus cooking and contributing to other things but person has caused me to have severe daily panic attacks

Your testimony is my testimony as well me and my family are living with my narcissistic mother who daily emotionally physically and mentally abuses someone in my household she reminds us of how homeless we are and she only thinks that way through what others say now what God says but what the world says homeless is you sharing your testimony is being obedient to God because it's helping somebody else is teaching someone else who might not understand so I thank you for this video and I thank you for your courage and may the Lord keep blessing and using you and working through you my sister 🙌🏽👏🏽💯🙏🏽💞
It is caused by the lack of political will on the part of our government, which refuses to take care of our people. They will send billions to other countries* but none for us. P.S. *To the US military-industrial corporations that give them campaign contributions
They're purposely not assisting homeless because they want people to remember that if you dont give most of your life to working this could be you, even if you're already working and still can barely get by they want people to live in fear. I'm homeless now and it's incredibly hard living day by day working full time I sleep 4 5 hrs
Do you spend more time feeling grateful for what you do have… or disappointed for what you don’t? Imagine you are holding any problems in your hand. Like a little toy, or a stone. Turn the problem around, as if it was a diamond with many facets. Allow yourself the fullness of the experience. See the different colors flashing, representing how multi-faceted the world really is. The change of perspective will allow you to see more than you could before. Is there anything you can now see that the pain was blocking?
~ I met a woman in Hollywood -yeah, That one -living in her Mercedes Benz. While living in my truck myself and extra-ing in “An Eye For An Eye” (👁️IT!) I asked the Mayfair guard (where she and I bathed) did I look “homeless enough” to him. “Uh, no.. your jeans got to look all greasy..” etc. I Knew what his answer would be.🤔😒🤨
The homeless are why I think people should stop having so many children, because every homeless person was a child at some point which proves that not every child is destined for greatness.
She asserts that homeless people are just down on their luck. They’re not. They are Grade A crime drivers. So in that sense she’s right. They’re not who you think they are; they’re worse.
You are wrong about that. Each person's story is different. And your calous view is why we can't find work. We want to get back on our feet, and the employers have the same baseless stigma that you have, so they won't hire us
And before you say the mental hospital, how do you think that helps when as soon as you leave the hospital and are back on the streets, the same social stigma
So what is your solution to this? To use Us Taxpayers harder? To squeeze every single penny out of hard working people? From someone who works to someone who does not? My heart goes out for children who are in lack. My heart also goes out to honest hardworking people who are expected to pay for everyone who lands here. I wish I would know the solution..
Sometimes when I see housed people, I wish an asteroid would strike the earth so that the skies would be glorified by the lamentations of their children.
And think of all those foreclosed and abandoned homes people aren't allowed to use either. There are options but its not their problem, cause apparently its my own fault im not bank worthy or ...like i mean all that middle man with a middle man and we can't even get jobs that can afford to provide health care for employees, how can we afford first and last months rent plus deposit as well as turning on various utilities or water once 🔂 n. Personally i think water should be free at least cold but not their problem
It's a sad and growing problem in this world. There are multiple causes mental illness not treated, drug abuse lose job home marriage etc . The fact it has been growing shows the failure of governments around the world 🌎. Jeremiah 10:23 shows it doesn't belong to man to direct his step. Watching this while homeless is surreal😮
I hope you can get into permanent housing ASAP! ❤

Anyone can fall upon hard times and wind up homeless. Please Lord help the ones in need.

So MANY homeless! Yet SO MANY empty buildings where people could go! So sad! No one in America should be homeless or hungry EVER

People experience homelessness. “The Homeless” just generalize all people without a home as bad.

Amazing love😊

Wow 🎀
We could avoid most of this trauma if we had guaranteed liveable universal basic income and or decommodify housing?
What you wish is communism. It sounds wonderful, but it isn't a reality. 😢

These stories make me sad.
Remove middle caste administration fees for homeless money and give the homeless money directly to the homeless and they will be millionaires.

Why is it that this video only has 200 likes makes zero sense to me. We all
Middle class don’t want to here about lower caste problems.

🤣
You are a bad persons

The cops clean the streets they just disperse never to be see again. Hope u never end up there, there Is zero compassion.
Why? So that you can sleep soundly in your bed. Let's hope you don't become homeless or the government might lock you away.
