Barry Fry has had his Marmite moments for me over the years , But I have been a Posh fan for nearly 45yrs , I was taken to a Posh match when we first moved to Peterborough in 1977 and was hooked ever since i my mid 50s now . Barry Fry , well what a chap , There was times I hated him but that has long passed , In my eyes he is a Posh Legend , as fans we forget what he has done for Peterborough United and still does . 79 yrs of age and is still full of energy , Barry you a are a club Legend . I moved away from Peterborough a few years ago but I will always have Blue Blood ... And what a birthday present today EFL Cup Winners at Wembley against Wycombe 2-1 . That was for you Barry. Lincolnshire Posh NG34
A salt-of-the-earth type of guy. I’m a Posh supporter grateful for all he has done for the club. He’s a great spotter of talent and a great human being.
always loved Barry, one of the great characters of English football. great to see he’s still so involved with the club he loves and that he got to see them win at Wembley on his birthday
What a character....the game wouldn't be the same without him! Remember seeing him as Barnet chairman at my old club Weymouth 40 plus years ago...Life and Soul
Met Barry back in 1995 when he was Birmingham Manager I did my Work experience at the club with Jason Withe he always came up said hello asked what team we supported I replied Stourbridge said good lad at the end of the two weeks he came up gave us signed shirts match tickets & £50 each from his own pocket never forget it met Karen Brady & Jasper carrott.
bumped into Barry at half time buying a beer in Gelsenkirchen in 2006 England V Portugal world cup quarter final. My brother and i are both big Cambridge United fans and sang a certain well known song about Bazza to his face. He took the banter with amazing grace and we got a photo with him. Top bloke , man of the people.
0:12 Some people may find this hard to believe but Barry was probably England's most-promising youth player in the early 60s and it was quite big news when Man Utd won the race to sign this young superstar. I've even heard it being said that some people at United thought he was at least as good as George Best when they were very young.
Between his episode of The London Programme (when he managed Barnet), There's Only One Barry Fry and Big Ron Manager, I can't get enough fly on the wall stuff about Baz. They should do a monthly reality show with him.
Say what you like about him, but he strikes me as a good bloke. We were very disappointed when he left Southend United for Brum. Always tried to play entertaining football and never a "grey" sort of manager.
"I'm the only person to represent England from Bedfordshire...' Not really Barry. A quick check shows that Andrew Johnson got 8 caps and Ben Chilwell, although born in neighbouring Milton Keynes, grew up and went to school in Bedfordshire.
They don’t make them like that anymore, absolute legend and a gentleman, the games running out of characters
How is this bloke 79 more energy then a lot of men half his age
