Y’know, while I can’t say Endeavor properly atoned, at this point, there’s not much more he can do when it comes to accepting responsibility. As long as he watches over Touya from now on, that’s gonna have to do. It's also great to see Touya and Shoto finally talking somewhat normally. I’d say something like, “these aren’t the best of circumstances,” but like, with this family, I can’t say I’m surprised. It’s the hellish Todoroki family after all. 😅
As for Endeavor, yeah, he's done. He's been done for a while now, but he's finally accepted the fact.
One could argue that Endeavor being fine physically and just quitting being a hero and living a life would cheapen the real tangible physical consequences he earned for all the abuse.
I loved the chapter, each one I just keep hoping for more after all this.
ENDeavor

Nah “very purposefully live on 3 corners of the country” was unexpected
I'd tell my kids at the end

@@benjaminwingert434 I was wondering the same thing
I wonder what was the 4th corner no one decided to live in.
I’m happy to say that I’m pretty satisfied with the finale here. Toya isn’t dead yet and had his first real brotherly interaction with Shoto, and while I don’t think Enji’s overall arc was very good, Horikoshi at least managed to end it on a high note where he has a plan to atone for the future. While I wish we got more from the other family members like Rei, Fuyumi, and especially between Natsu and Toya(wish they had more closure), I’m happy that Hori did right by Natsu and had him not forgive Enji and leave. Also, I’m happy Spinner will get potential closure too.
We need a lore video on this man’s family not endeavors
For real. As someone who was the daughter of two incredibly abusive people who were adopted as teenagers, who has cut off their mother, father, step father, step father's family, sister, and two brothers due to just how abusive they all were and continue to be. Was made homeless countless times by their family, nearly killed several times by a few of them, and generally treated like shit my entire life, only to be adopted by an actually loving family two years ago at 26.
I would genuinely love to know what sort of struggles he's gone through with his family as it wouldn't make me feel so alone.
@@Anubis30224Being adopted at 26 is weird as fuck and tells me that you're probably pretty weird.
@@Anubis30224 You can tell if he ever has children he won't make the same mistakes his father did .

@@Anubis30224from the very small amounts of his childhood nick has talked about he was raised by a single mother and lived with her and his sister and that’s is literally all we know
I liked that Natsuo stated that he will no longer meet Endeavor, even if they somewhat buried the hatchet.
Bruh really wants to die on that "I hate my dad" simulator hill. Even though he's done objectively nothing to try to improve the situation on HIS END with his dad from a narrative perspective... literally 1-track mind. Like I get it... it's the same deal with people IRL that are like *that* but even so dude could've just moved away from Japan... looooooooooong time ago.
@@FriezaReturns00001why should he move just cuz his dad lives in the area

@@FriezaReturns00001
I mean it's kind of wild to suggest the abuse victim has to try to better the relationship
I wouldn't say the hatchet was buried, just more of an understanding.
I really agree with ur point on natsuo endeavor dynamic being one of the rawest yet subtle and best written in the series. And for people who i have seen complain that natsuo feeds off of endeavor's money and still talk backs to him. Natduo was a chilf and growing up. His mother was away. He cojld not just up and leave his siblings with that abusive father. I want to believe when he got old enough to earn something hw would manage somwhat of his own experiences. And i definitely dont think a pre no.1 or even post no.1 hero endeavour would just let him leave like that. So natsuo really was stuck with both responsibility and helpless in a climate he hated.
I really like how toya's obsession with his father (endeavor) is similar to deku's obsession to all might and how there obsessions took them on seperate paths.
I know, the show should have been just called “my hero” as it is about kids their heroes and how the interactions with those heroes shaped them. Deku, Dabi, Overhall, or Mirio. They were all the turned into the people they are by the person they looked up to.
Endeavour is S tier writing story.... Fucking great writing.....
nah he def does have the best writing in mha tho
Easily best Character in mha unlike Cringe class 1a
It's between me and All Might for the favorite character spot. They're so good. That's why I want a spinoff based on adults because they are the best part of the series.
@@Ani-f4ingl 80% of class 1a could just not exist and almost nothing would change 😭
I totally agree, his change is what kept me reading. This comment stopped me from writing my own 😂
I genuinely despise the notion of unforgiveness. Like in a story with fictional characters, whatever, but in real life? No way.
If you’ve genuinely understood your wrong and genuinely apologize for it, I’m forgiving you. It’d be ignorant and selfish of me to hold back forgiveness against someone who genuinely feels regret for the past and are trying to atone for it. And even if someone wasn’t seeking forgiveness, that doesn’t change the fact that I ought to love them nonetheless. Forgiveness isn’t forgetting, but I can’t hold the sins of someone against them when my sins aren’t held against me anymore
Yeah. Its complex sure but I agree with everything you said.
Nick’s lore has been expanded on once again! This is why anime and manga is so important. It allows us to embrace and connect on deep emotional levels without ever saying a word.
People don't understand how serious it is that Dabi cried. When Twice died he said that his tear glands are burned up, so he literally CANNOT cry but he still did. That's deep.
Endeavor is my favorite character in MHA for the same reason that Danzo is my least favorite (well-written) character in Naruto; Endeavor is genuinely remorseful for his atrocious and evil past, while Danzo is the other side of the coin- prideful of it and completely lacking remorse for any action he has ever taken.
Danzo is underrated as a villain imo because of those exact reasons
I was today years old when I found out that the voice actor for Spinner was also the voice actor for Wishbone from the PBS Kids show Wishbone.

Wait I thought the "ker-chak" sound was for a door ? You know since hospital doors in Japan slide instead of open like over here.
it depends on the hospital on both sides homie some slide over here and some have normal doors over there especially in recovery since its not a "every moment counts" kind of situation.
Endeavor is easily the best written character in MHA. Whether or not he should be forgiven depends on how you look at it and I understand Natsuo but I genuinely think he's the most annoying member of the todoroki family and one of the most annoying characters in general.
Agreed, lol leave or forgive already
Brody had it the easiest. Sure he is within his rigths but he is still a whiny dickhead.

I hate how people blame Dabi's actions on Endeavor. Dabi is a grown ass man. He killed those people because he enjoyed it. Yes, Endeavor is a bad dad. No, that doesn't mean Dabi isn't to blame for every single bad thing he's done.
No one is saying Dabi is innocent, but Endeavor is 100% the cause that made Dabi who he is. Dabi is not innocent, but neither is Endeavor.
I’m also tired of people act like Dabi is still a victim.

The idea definitely wasn't "just introduced" and I've mentioned it before. MHA was very much implying that heteromorphs were discriminated against. Way back when we had stuff like Gang Orca being "the hero that most looks like a villain". The implication was always much like Shinzo having a "villainous" power. That it was societal bias that heteromorphs were always potentially villainous.
Yeah I wouldn’t be surprised if Endeavor retires as a hero. I mean look at the condition he is in. Let’s hope Shoto in the near future can fill in that hole.

the entire endeavour story line hits too close to home. You explaining about the favourite also hits home. It just keeps hitting me. Just like my dad when I was a kid.

@@munkee_man exactly, Endeavor isn't even being redeemed, just atoning. Dabi is FAR from redeemed.
@@joshuaagee-bass4049 Indeed. Endeavor may have been a extremely crappy father, but that's an issue to mainly work out between his family. Dabi doesn't just have his family issues to worry about, he's also gonna have to answer for all the people he killed and general collateral damage he helped cause in all this, which is gonna be an entirely different can of worms.
I don't know if you'll see this, But this is the 3rd video I've watched on this chapter an you really explained it in a way to where I could digest the full emotional impact intended thank you
The thing with Endeavour quitting from being a hero is symbolises how him obsessing over surpassing All Might all those years at the sake of his family was a bad way to go about things and him retiring is the best punishment along those lines I can't write what I'm thinking so bear with me😂
I think this was a realistic and well written end to the Todoroki family drama. Natsuo has every right to bury the hatchet and not want anything to do with his family. Rei and Fuyumi are going to find peace. Enji and Toya’s end is well deserved. Endeavor the hero redeemed himself but Enji Todoroki should spend the rest of his life atoning for the harm he caused. Shoto is now free to become his own hero and I think he is going to make us all proud.
Naw I disagree because all that Natsu has done is shown no care or rather extreme apathy, he's been dejected since the beginning though realistically, he didn't *have* to stay -- at any point in time, Natsu could've ask Fuyumi to just called _CPS_ (child protective services), since those numbers exists any where (and downplaying that is just feining ignornace for attempting to get help or get out) plus there is fact that now he's kind of hypocrite it's like he doesn't want his dad to atone anymore even though Natsuo has always been in "generational anti-Endeavour hater" camps like dude make up your mind.
Again why did he just not leave sooner, kind of pointless to say so now, I mean IRL that option is always on the table but people act like it's never the case. Believing that they'll be personally trapped in bad relationships or bad family drama when it's a mentality problem. If Natsuo wants to fade away, by all means but he needs to remember the downsides with that.
Also statements like "burying the hachet" aren't as simple not in a fictioncal setting like this where superpowered people crush each other on achievements, Dabi publicially made that statement about Endeavour -- that's going to be something that'll linger for years even if Natsu changes his name and moves to another country (couldn't be covered up by the media) to come at least until Dabi finally perishes and Endeavour is too old.
@@FriezaReturns00001Learn to read you pinhead, he said that he wont contact Endeavor anymore, but he will contact the rest of the family. He only will cut ties with $hitdeavor, not with thw rest.

Yeah I think the new UA-cam AI is definately working better than the old system
I think the whole "I'm retiring" ringing hollow due to his injuries and ruined reputation is the point. There's barely anything Endeavor can do to atone the only thing he has that he can do is step down as a hero and yet even that is taken from him leaving him with no path for atonement despite wanting to do so now that he realized his mistakes and this very pain of wanting to atone but being unable to do so is probably the greatest atonement possible for Endeavor as he suffers in silence it's an atonement just for himself that he himself doesn't even acknowledge as atonement and the pain of which he can never share with others he can never show his atonement to others in this way.
Hope I managed to bring across my point. I'm not that good with words especially putting emotions into words

i agree Endeavor went about trying to redeem himself in the wrong way. Instead of trying to make amends with his family by being a better father and husband; he stupidly thought that just doing his Job as hero better was enough to atone for his sins which it wasn't. Someone being good at their job has nothing with to how you treat your family. You can be the best at whatever job you have but if you're going home neglecting or treating your family like trash, you're a shitty spouse and parent.
Except his isn't just a job. Its actively helping the public and saving lives. So it wasn't about the job specifically but rather the idea of living up to the ideals he should have been embodying all along and never had been, especially when it came to his own family. The only comparable analogy might be if he was a church official and was caught up in scandal. He thought he could make up for what he'd done by being the guy he always should have been, to not only the world, but very specifically them...
@@LupineShadowOmegapeople are too cynical to remember the idealism or heroics
I really like shoto so I liked the chapter
Is it possible that Horikoshi isn’t planning on actually using the characters he introduced in the epilogue?
MHA is ending sure but that doesn’t mean the “MHA” story is necessarily over. What I mean is that it could be a Kaguya moment, introducing a character (the guy who walked out of the building) that is later used to set up the world for a sequel.
Subjectively it wasn’t my favorite way to do things and that iirc a lot ppl thought it was a cheap out I’m probably not alone there BUT I also wouldn’t complain about a sequel to MHA that actually develops the rest of the world outside of Japan a little more.
Bro... I'm catching up on MHA, had to work, fell behind. All I know about anime lately is what I hear from you in my background as I work. So I keep hearing all about Denji's "messy handshake" being one of the first in mainstream anime. And I hear NOTHING about Mirko getting fingered on screen? Warn a man. Jeez, I was watching with my son. 🤣
For those of you confused, while fighting Shigaraki, he starts sprouting singers out into tendrils and injures Mirko with them.
I've had an ongoing bet since the chapter where they picked their hero names released and shoto didn't pick one and that he would take the endeavor name
While I think being irreparably damaged does dampen the severity of Endeavor stepping down, I still think there's a lot of significance in his words. Sure, it would've been noble to retire his dream early, but I feel like that opens up other problems. Some could say he'd be running from his other responsibilities by hanging up the cape early. It would mean he'd be avoiding confrontation with his son Toya, it would mean he'd be abandoning his colleagues to fight a war they can't win without his help--he really had no choice but to continue as a hero, and I bet he knew that, too. Heck, if it weren't for Shoto and his family telling him to get a grip in the hospital after their first encounter with Toya, he might've done that exact thing. Furthermore, he didn't have to declare to Toya that he was retiring--he still could've tried to continue, only to probably be denied by other powers because of how injured he now is. But he came forward on his own anyway, and told Toya he was retiring before he said even anything else. That's a bold thing--especially considering that he probably knew how little his words would mean now. I think he deserves at least some credit for that.
That said, he may be a phenomenal character, but the past is unchangeable. I respect his choices, but I respect Natsuo's just as much. The only thing left for this family is time, and who knows how much will be needed before they can all finally be healed--if that's even possible at this point. I just want them all to be happy, is that too much to ask?? *Sigh.*
Anyway, such a good character arc, and a well deserved ending. Bravo, Hori.
Wouldn't it be wild if MHA isn't ending, but the story is just going to continue under a new name to reflect the rebranding of Hero Society. And we actually see Deku and Class 2-A have their adventures tr6y to help establish a new norm.
Endeavor should be forgiven smh
Endeavor can be forgiven by different people, it’s not an all-or-nothing. Fuyumi has forgiven, Shouto is on the fence but open.
After fighting All for One, the #1 hero of Japan was forced to retire.
Endeavor once again parallels All Might. No matter what Enji does he’ll alway be in Toshinori’s shadow to the bitter end.
NGL I'm paranoid about twerking Nick ever since it happened.
Welp I’m an idiot I had no clue my hero is in the middle of a season right now
Less than 4 chapters to resolve apparent heteromorph racism. Horikoshi definitely bit off more than he could process by introducing that
I wish we saw more about the racism towards Quirkless people though. Apparently it’s so bad that Deku can get openly abused and no one will defend him while Aiyana’s parents felt the social stigma was so great they resorted to going to AfO
Given how things are being wrapped up, I am a little confused as to how no legal trouble has hit Endeavor after Dabi very publicly aired their dirty laundry, but maybe we can chalk that up to the Todoroki family simply choosing not to press charges for the sake of the semblance of family.
You gotta realize, there are people like LaBrava and Gentle in the real world, they deserve love too (without being called a creep). MHA is the perfect manga for highlighting that (given descriminafion based on appearance is a big plot point).
The only part I would disagree with, and i could be wrong, is that Endeavor isnt necessarily forced out as a hero because of his injuries. The Iron Might suit showed us the tech is crazy and he could probably get some prostheses pretty easily. So him choosing not to amd stepping down does still mean a little something. But there is one line that has always stayed with me and made me want to be a better person, "I don't want forgiveness, i want to atone."
One of the few times I'll defend MHA. Endeavor would have had prosthetics or something made if he wasn't serious about quitting being a hero but he knows he's fucked up and can't fix it so he's settled into his new mindset
How is it the END of all things of Endeavor? Where is the mandatory Therapy and Rehab Arc for abusers? Oh wait...
That weak “soba” followed by the apology legit made me cry.
Shotos family story is so deep, it feels like he should have been the MC instead of Deku. That’s the pain an MC usually has to over come but Deku back is just plain in comparison.
Natsuo is mad at himself for not doing anything he isn’t a lost child he just doesn’t want to take the blame that he knows was his fault if he’d actually been there for Dabi and the others if anything standing up to his father things would have definitely been different 💯 just from being in this situation in real life he’s probably my personal most hated character it was a miss opportunity for all for one to kill him and have dabi and the family actually fight all for one together then what we got i agree En being force to retire this way cheaps his whole character arc
426 is not officially out... Officials come always on Sundays
I love this ending. Dabi apologized, Endeavor isn't fully forgiven and Natsuo chose to not see him again. I just hope the mother doesn't have to take care of Endeavor now because he still is her abuser
They should have stayed at the hospital until dabi died. It would have ended his suffering and gave him the best death possible with his whole family loving him until his heart exploded in a nuclear fussion blue fire blast that ended up healing all the scars and injury to the whole family and then when they go to thank him the ashes of where his body was start moving and like a Phoenix rising from the ashes they find a new baby dabi in the bed
I believe it is a clas 2-A student coming to visit spinner.

I don’t think he’ll ever forgive him but I can see him after so many years letting Endeavor meet his new family

How its framed if natsuo lets Endeavor meet his family that is natsuo forgiving him. Also again the only reason natsuo will ever do that because he had a "jump start" (hes in his 20s so not a great head start) on the healing process by having that last talk with endeavor and getting him that closer which will let him focus on his life which in the end will speed up his healing process relatively its years rather then decades.
