What's really striking is that across all of his videos, almost everyone -- while understandably mildly annoyed -- are polite, respectful, genuinely concerned about him not hurting himself, and in the end, gracious in their praise and admiration.

Yeah they literly acted like guys in the gym, at first I thought they gonna have an aditute or act kinds weird about it.
But Iam really glad that these two girls are hella cool, dont see that often.
Anatoly, I am seventy four years old and have had an open heart double by'pass. I also have 5 stents in my heart with the last Stent put inside of the first stent. Also I am the first person in my city that had both knees totally replaced at the same time.
I get so much fun and enjoyment from watching your videos where you train and surprise people at how strong and adept at your strength and skills you are in the gym.
Please keep putting them on UA-cam and congratulations on all of your accomplishments and trophies in the past.

Strength training doesn’t build much muscle mostly strength

uh? They are friendly, compared to people doing other activities, if a "noob" comes in and starts telling them they are doing it wrong, these take it pretty good.
Yet peeps at Gym usually take it better from a "cleaner guy" than "newbie guy who just saw some tiktok video". Still, working out makes people happy, thanks to hormones.
I disagree with you on that, I am a person with lack of social skills, I go to the gym and do not talk to people but the very few times I have done it, gym people always, always have answered my questions with a smile in their face and very polite and familiar manners.
I think this may be my favourite video of yours yet. Anatoly the newbie character just turning up and destroying the regular gym patrons is just fantastic!
This guy is a real motivation for all of us , and I am gonna support him throughout with my love to his videos and the channel.
My family Dr used to train power lifters for the olympics he was also a champion of his age/weight in NZ, and the way he helped people get their strength up was astounding. Knowledge really is key.

He's not small at all if you watch the beginning of the vid. Obviously he's not massive the way they are, but they've got steroidal/HGH gym muscles.
Heavy weights do not equal muscle size. Large muscle size simply have the potential to lift higher loads, it doesn't mean that they do. Most 'bodybuilders' train for hypertrophy (muscle size) while powerlifters train for strength

Those two women are very polite, humble, kind and smart. They showed him trust, and weren't quick to judge and dismiss him. And they wanted to know if he could teach them something helpful. While most tend to feel offended that someone who doesn't look as strong as them found fault in their technique.
OMG you took this video to the next level. With holding the barbell over head and curling with the dumbbell and then dropping the barbell and catching it on the up bounce and then turning it and placing in perfectly in place all with one hand. Awesome. Keep practicing those unorthodox movements it will continue to blow people's minds. 👍

Every time I watch Anatoly I’m inspired how strong someone can be without the massive muscles, and I would assume no steroids. I’d be absolutely floored if Anatoly takes steroids… nothing indicates that he does.

All of the Anatoly characters are awesome! If you want a new character, maybe try one time going into the gym all messed up like you were just in a bad accident and have a full length cast one arm and say you still need to work out and do your one armed lifting.

Anatoly is the Sacha Baron Cohen of the gym. The way he does all this stuff with a straight face is incredible. One of the most gratifying things about these videos is actually witnessing the graciousness of the people he shows up. You'd think some of these juiced up bodybuilders would become angry, but almost all of them are good sports about it. And their concern for him at the outset, afraid that he will hurt himself, is nice too.
