    Very cool videos Shawn. I stumbled across your channel searching for some pointers on fishing the San Juan during the winter. I'll be up there this weekend with my father testing out a few new bamboo rods he's made. If your free you should join us. Take care and Merry Christmas.

      @@McFlyAngler not a problem. It was pretty slow and cold. Kind of a pain when your guides keep icing up. Managed to catch a few though on midges and leaches. Keep up the awsome videos.

    What essential materials should I get for good midges, nymphs, and small streamers?

    • @McFlyAngler
      @McFlyAngler  5 років тому

      That’s a lot of different types of flies. And I’m not sure what patterns you are looking to tie.

    I myself prefer a smaller or narrower tinsel and to improve durability counter wind the peacock herl and or wrap the herl around the thread creating a herl chenille for even more durable solution.

    • @McFlyAngler
      @McFlyAngler  5 років тому

      It was counter wrapped I think... if not, well I made a mistake. Yes you could use a thinner tinsel. All prefference

    Why doesn’t firehole sell on amazon? Can you recommend another good barbless hook brand?

    • @McFlyAngler
      @McFlyAngler  5 років тому +1

      Barbless? No. Sorry. But they do sell on their website. Good prices. Also, the fly artist sells some barbless and you get a discount with them by typing in a code. Go to the description of this video section to get the code.

    Add another good tip "Use lead-free wire for ballast"

    • @McFlyAngler
      @McFlyAngler  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah recently ive been trying to use lead free more and more, just its so much harder to work with

    What I mean is. Is there a disign you never made?

    • @McFlyAngler
      @McFlyAngler  5 років тому

      Plenty yes... I mean, there are like millions of different fly patterns out there, so no I haven’t tied them all. Lol.

  • @MileHighInTheSky

    No boit antennae?

    • @McFlyAngler
      @McFlyAngler  5 років тому +1

      It’s not on the pattern... but for a variation you could add it.

  • @hurleytanaka7760

    Sure does one get turkey biots? Also, what happened to the intro?

    • @McFlyAngler
      @McFlyAngler  5 років тому

      Took out the intro, it was too long. And turkey biots can be purchased at your local fly shop or in my description section.

    What’s the name of the intro riff?

    • @McFlyAngler

      It comes from I-movie. It’s free to use when using the program.
