Hi Davie. I have tied flies for 30 years and since watching your brilliant videos I have learnt so much. You make it look so easy and the flies are fabulous. Looking forward to more videos from you . Many thanks
My favorite euro rig is a gasolina perdigon as point fly, and this pheasant tail as the light fly. Really a deadly combo, and both super quick and simple to tie Thanks Davie!
Davie, I have been tying flies for 26 years. In the past, I even did some commercial tying. I have been watching your videos for a few years. I appreciate how you present your fly tying instructions. In my opinion, you are the best fly tyer I have seen. I hope you continue to produce more videos in the future!
Thank You Gang Unit Sergeant, Martinez for all you kind words which means a lot and will certainly encourages me to keep making these videos...All my inspiration comes from the many requests and questions I get asked so I couldn't do it without everyone here on youtube and others...I would like to wish you a Happy New Year and all the very best for 2018.. Hello Davie, I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I especially likes the nymph ties with the metallic Madeira thread. I tie PT nymphs using a wide array of colors in my selection of tails and the Madeira threads substituted for a peacock herl thorax very much intrigues me. I have not see the Madeira thread in fly shops here in the US. Would you know if it is a widely available thread?

Hi, Davie Brilliantly simple and highly effective, I’m sure. I have x-small Copper ultra wire and a heavy duty ceramic bobbin holder, but every 4-5 wraps the wire breaks. Any suggestions? Thank you, Joe
I had the same issue. The problem is metal fatigue which causes the copper to crack and fracture. I found the if I allowed the wire in the bobbin to hang and untwist after a couple of turns then it is manageable. Also you need to feed the wire, so you don't create a fracture point where the wire touches the rim of the bobbin. I have a couple of ceramic bobbin holders but they are not smooth enough, the Tiemco is the smoothest by far.
Hi Davie, I noticed that the dyed black PT I have has a very green sheen to it. Would you still used this or is a more solid black better? Cheers, Steve
Hi Steve, It should be fine as you will get more of the black when it is tyed on but it would be good to have a few solid black feathers too.. All the very best Davie..
I have some medium olive micro glint what colour pheasant tail would you recommend please? And what would I be imitating with your recommendation. Thanks.
