1. Ed Sheeran co-wrote the track in collaboration with Steve Mac, Johnny Mcdaid, and Jenna Andrews.
2. They use sign language as a part of their dance choreography in ‘Permission to Dance, it's means 'fun,’ ‘dance,’ and ‘peace.’
3. They leaves messages throughout the ‘Permission to Dance’ MV in graffiti, text in the backdrop, and even visuals promoting unity and the end to Asian hate crimes.
4. They release ‘Permission to Dance‘ on July 9, which is the birthday of ARMY. Best present ever!
My mom works for deaf kids and is an interpreter for them so she knows ASL so the part where they added in ASL made me tear up it means a lot to me and my mom💜🤧

For other ARMY complaining about the song and BTS being westernized listen: This is only their 3rd full english? Whatcha on about fam?? We have 100+ in korean. Last year the BE album songs was in korean.. come on... Us ARMY are always proud that BTS is not just 1 genre.. we always say they are THE GENRE so they are constantly branching out and trying different sounds thats why we love them for not sticking to one sound. They're bringing more and more non fans to our BTS universe and they will be discovering the great complex hard hitting past songs, is'nt that a good thing? Im sure they will be going back to singing korean songs. This is a birthday gift to ARMY, its in english so all the different races of ARMY can sing fully to it.. plus incorporating ASL sign language. Come on ARMY fam its okay not to like it.. but lets not knock out BTS like that. Borahae 💜

Thank you for mentioning ASL, my Mom works for Deaf kids and she’s an interpreter for them, she tells me that the kids love BTS and they like telling her that since they know I love BTS, it’s really wholesome💜

My thoughts:
Purple is a colour of hope and love for bts and Army.
At first balloons were locked in some boxes and washing machines
from Spring Day explanation, washing machine is representing life that is kinda stopped
We can see bts members blowing balloons and V flying in away
People who are seeing the balloon are enjoying and start to hope all of this ends and world will become normal again
by the ending all the balloons are flying to sky
I wonder if at the end, they used a drone to record it so the camera crew could join everyone in the crew. I cried so many times during the day watching this. My size, my age, my skin color, my ability level, and my love of dance, they have it all. I even teared up seeing RM ask Jin to dance.
I didn’t know I needed to see Cowboy themed BTS but ya know what I needed that because it gave me good laugh since i’m a Texan 😂💜
I loved Suga in the teaser when he starts out the video walking out of laundromat with hair silvery and the headband. OMG I lost track of it every time I replayed it bc I was still staring stuck on Suga 🥵 lol

Permission to Dance makes me happy. Is it the best song that BTS has ever released? No, not by a long shot. Is it the most revolutionary song they’ve ever had? Nope, not at all. Will this be their most memorable song? Most likely it wouldn’t. But it’s cute, lighthearted, wholesome, has diversity, has sign language in it, and just filled with hopefulness and positivity in which I like. If anything, the only thing I wished about it was that the song didn’t have so much auto tune to it because I feel like if that had been toned down a bit, more people would’ve liked it. But some views this song as a lesson that BTS should learn on what not to release, and like, I get not being a fan of the song. No one should be forced to listen to something they don’t like even if it was by your favorite artist, but PtD is not near ON ft. Sia level. Well, I don’t think it is, if other people think so than oh well. But I really enjoyed listening to this and I think this might became my favorite English song from the three BTS has released due to the message and the MV.
I agree with you that this track is vocally overproduced . (Just my honest opinion). At first listen, i couldnt distinguished their voices esp RM’s, V’s & JK’s which is a letdown for me as each of the 7members has great vocal characteristics.
But the the lyrics, the sound and the music is so uplifting, happy, hopeful and inspirational. I think I would listen more to the live version which I find a lot better for my taste. And I so love to see them so happy and joyful performing the song, it is just so infectious. I cant help but smile and dance to their music without permission. 👍
i’m always in awe of jimin’s voice. what an incredible and unique vocal talent, and Yes jimin he doesn’t need permission to dance. Jimin our dance king!
Jimin's vocals are my favorite out of all of them. His voice is so sweet and perfect for this.

The western/cowboy outfits were cute, I really liked it. It doesn’t necessarily have to sound like country music to dress like that so it’s all good 😄 The song is really sweet too and meant to be a gift for ARMY and after hearing it a couple times I was singing along and fell in love with the message of the mv and song!
