Of these two beaches which would you prefer to visit? Playa Sámara has great access to chairs and restaurants all along the beach, where as Playa Carrillo is a bit more laid back with less bustle around it!
I have been there often. The town has a great vibe, excellent restaurants and a beautiful beach that is great for swimming because the waves aren't to big. Only drawback is there is a lot of horse poop on the beach. Make sure you spend time at Playa Carrillo
Great video and insight into Samara. I travelled to Samara back in 1998 and it looks completely different than it did all those years ago. There was one or two places to stay at the time and no real tourist infrastructure. We were offered to stay inside the school but found a cabana up on the hill. The beach was quite empty back then except for locals and maybe a couple of restaurants. Looks like the place has exploded in popularity since then. Looking forward to returning one day.
Hi Emma thank you so very much for posting this lovely Playa Samara Playa Carrillo beach videos. I`ve never been to this part of Costa Rica but it sure looks beautiful there. How are you doing ?
Hi Emma, very nice video. Thank you for sharing. I'll be learning more about Costa Rica through your videos. Will be checking out your other videos as well, so we are a new sub. We will be visiting CR soon, I hope. We will be shooting some videos for our new YT channel, Cooze Adventures.
To be very honest, this is a good question that I couldn't answer very well! I haven't seen many beaches with showers. We usually bring a good bottle or two of fresh water, it works well!
Unfortunately we only stayed from 7am to about 3pm, so I didn't get to experience nightlife! If I could, I would probably do dinner at the Gusto Beach restaurant, it looks like they have a lively scene in the evenings!

Glad you enjoyed! I bet it looked very different, I would’ve liked to see it at that time!!
Stay around Samara 4 years ago and found it great. Heading back in October for a longer visit.
It’s a cool town! I’m sure you’ll enjoy lots 😊

great day....i have only been to samara once in oct 2009..it was very nice there- i'm sure development has changed it a lot
Surprisingly I didn’t see many big new hotels, lots of smaller ones tucked around the neighborhood, so I suppose that’s one good thing!!
Been to Samara several times a great place. I was just at Quepos about three weeks ago 👍
Nice! Yeah it's a sweet little town! hope you enjoyed Quepos too!

Did you bring a drone to CR? If so can you tell me the regulations for bringing one into CR? Thanks.
I bought my drone on a trip to Miami and brought it back to CR with me, I didn't have any issues or questions asked!
What beaches have access to stand-up showers. I can't swim in saltwater without rinsing!

Hotel Locanda is right on the beach. Nice place
Calm Palm…
What pizza and not pickles and ice cream??
Hahah oh I’ve had my fair share of vinegary snacks and snacks ice cream too 😂
Hows the nightlife?

Gusto Beach is good. A few nice establishments on the beach and one or 2 on the main street
