    Wow so many mistakes. Now I finally know what to work on and improve. Thank you so much Kian for doing this

    I really appreciate these critique videos; feel you'd be a great teacher. You recognize people's skill levels in their solves and critique them accordingly, and your critiques are blunt with little undue praise. I often come back to these videos for motivation to improve and the best part is that I seem to learn more with each revisit. I enjoy your critiques and the "why you're not x" videos because of your no-nonsense approach to teaching. It's easy to praise someone who does better than their contemporaries; and while that's a comfortable environment, there is less learning to be had from a gloss of appreciation if they're trying to improve, and you analyze everyone in this way at their respective levels, along with a bit of a "pro-tip" vibe here and there that I dig. I hope to one day have a video about me on your channel, and I'd love to hear the raw analysis if it happens. Can't wait for the next upload fam, and can't wait to see what wacky hoo-nanner Roux content you come out with next.

    First solve, after the FB, if you insert the green first (R' U' R), then that sets up the other corner nicely for the r U' r' insert ^^
    Just found that one haha. Rewatching this video over and over xD

      Exactly what I noticed right away, I was surprised when Kian said he would have done the same thing.

    I was really happy when my first blocl solution was same as criticals solution. I got a 4c skip

    For that third scramble, wouldn't R U2 B2 be a better FB(with nonmatching centers)?

  • @goshicrazy
    @goshicrazy 7 років тому +6

    My solution for 4th scramble, 1st block:
    x' y2 U R u R' u r' F
    which leaves DR edge in a very easy position and a two gen second block :)

    I think I would learn a lot from someone critiquing my Roux solves but...
    a. I mainly use CFOP
    b. I'm CN with my Roux solves, so half the solves you wouldn't do anything close to what I would do.
    c. I'm really busy...

  • @siatsu3631
    @siatsu3631 7 років тому

    Uhm. For the F2L case at 6:30, is M2 R U' r' U2 r u r' a good solution? I don't have my cube right now so I'm not sure if it is even a solutiob to that case.

  • @hamzaabbaszaidi8788
    @hamzaabbaszaidi8788 7 років тому

    6:14 How did you know that the edge would be oriented correctly when you paired them together like that? Like how did you know if it would be flipped right?

    • @Kian_Mansour
      @Kian_Mansour  7 років тому

      Hamza Abbas Zaidi I saw that it was at DF with blue on front, so with M2 it would be at UB with red top and pair with the corner.

    • @hamzaabbaszaidi8788
      @hamzaabbaszaidi8788 7 років тому

      So you don't really think about whether it's oriented, you think about what color's going to be on top? Do you ever think about if an edge is "oriented" correctly, like in ZZ? Thanks you're a legend.

    • @Kian_Mansour
      @Kian_Mansour  7 років тому

      I think about orientation when I want to do RU-gen pairs, but in this case I just thought about what colour was going to be on top. Haha you're welcome

    hi I am about 9 second with cfop is it good to switch my methoud to roux

    • @Kian_Mansour
      @Kian_Mansour  7 років тому +1

      9 seconds is pretty fast. I would only recommend that you switch to roux if you're bored of CFOP and think you cannot improve with it anymore.

    hey kian, if you search slower roux-solves (around 15 secs), I would love to send you some of my solves. I could film my solves with 60 fps at 1080p ;)

    • @Kian_Mansour
      @Kian_Mansour  7 років тому

      Sure, that would be great! Share them with me through google drive. I can't guarantee that I will critique your solves, but it's worth a shot!

    Second solve 4c could've just been M' u2 M' u2

    • @Kian_Mansour
      @Kian_Mansour  7 років тому

      Yeah I've seen these kinds of u2 tricks before. I still don't know if it's something that's worth doing. The bad part about it is that you have to regrip your thumbs and ring fingers off the E slice and move them down to D.

    • @chocomint8261
      @chocomint8261 7 років тому

      Kian Mansour Personally I feel it's really fast because I can move my middle and ring fingers during the first M', and I can execute the 2 M's like an M2.

      I started cubing with cfop 2 months ago and now begin to learn roux for 3 weeks now. And i also do many moves from cfop, because i recognize some cfop cases and so i developed a habit to mix both methods. Haha
      Now i do cross, f2l, OLL and then LSE. XD
