- We bought a contracting business, without ever seeing it, and already that's starting to feel like a bad idea. but first, we've got to find our feet and try and generate some work. In this episode, I'm already chasing my tail after over committing to another contract.

July 18, 2023 This map is gorgeous and even tho it has some really big fields, it definitely does not have roadways and/or gates big enough to accommodate big equipment. I'm sure you'll find a way tho. You're good at things like that. 😄 Thank you and Take Care.

Great content as always. I can see you’re having the same issues with the tight gate entrances as I am. I’ve given up trying to fit through them and now just drive through the hedges. Other than that this map is next level with its visuals and character.
Yeah it’s a bit frustrating, you can edit the XML to make them open a bit wider, which might help

I play on this map too and I have also found several fields almost impossible to enter via the gate. Sorry to say, but driving trough the hedges ar more common then not. But it is a beautiful map indeed.
Yeah it's a shame isn't it, I'm having the same issue, so gald he didn't put collisions on the hedges

Loving this series, and what a map. I grew up in a windmill next to a farm so I’ve been hoping for that to appear in a map

@@TheFarmSimGuy definitely different I suppose, have fond memories as a kid in the early 90s sitting in cabs of New Holland combines and mostly Ford tractors working the fields around the mill. And then helping out more on neighbouring farms as I got a bit older

Theres something about oxygen David's maps, I live in Cornwall so just south of were this is set, he's absolutely nails details every time. I play on console ATM until I can afford a pc that can run fs but loving watching this series FAO giants I want that Renault on console lol 😂

love the map and series, in my "world" I got the buildings in the SW corner near fields 20, 30 and 144 for my contracting business after seeing some of the access points to fields its small to medium stuff only for sure. Can't wait for the next video in the series later FSG.

Just need to live by the wise words of the famous farmer Jeremy Clarkson: "Speed and power" 😉 Silage contracts are always so lucrative, but very time consuming. I hope the oats farmer won't be too mad with you for not starting the harvest in the night, but I bet he would be madder if you wrecked his hedge, his entrance, or took a bath in his canal 😅 Awesome content as always, sir! @@TheFarmSimGuywhen I first started with FS I hated UK maps and now they’re my favourites. There’s something relaxing when using smaller equipment. 👍

You need the claw for silage bales. The spikes destroying the fermentation. When you are loading, i think one side dosent open as much as the another one. In real life it is like that
In the UK we use spikes on silage bales all the time
@@TheFarmSimGuy even if they are new? Here in Sweden we dont use a spike on a newly made silage bale. Its the same thing if we put it in a bunkersilo. We have problems with birds. The are picking holes so the bales becomes manure. I have a friend that lost about 20 bales that way
@@marcusolsson5506 Yeah we use tape sometimes to cover the holes. It all seems a bit silly to me when there are grabs that don't cause the issue.
@@TheFarmSimGuy I agree. forgot to tell you that when the wrapper is done it drops the bales on the flat side. Then you dont have to move more than one time. The are very sensitive.

Do you know that in real life one of them bale wrappers can be fitted on a front loader or telehandler . So you can wrap stack or load at the same time. We see that you're Fiat has loader brackets so you could fit a loader 😅

I’m not sure why anyone would accept a harvesting contract with so little information AND a clear misunderstanding in the air, but I did feel a bit cheated with so little actually getting done in a single episode

How did you get the bale trailer to the field and the bale handler. I assume you cant tow the bale lifter. Not being clever, I’m a newbie and couldn’t figure that out unless you walked back to get one of them?
Yeah just walked back and got them, simple as that
When u cut grass on your own fields (not off field grass) is there 2 stages of rdy to harvest or just 1. When u look at your own field grass rdy to harvest it always looks shorter then field grass from contracts so is there any difference or is it just a visual thing.
I actually think it's a visual bug that'll be fixed in an update in the future

Sure, some mods are private, the TW15 and the Renault is from King Mods, everything else is avaiable on the modhub
The quality of the map is incredible but when I downloaded it I was disappointed to see you can't buy a lot of the non field areas on the map and now seeing how excessively tight everything is I'm happy with my decision not to play on this map. Will continue to watch the series unfold however. I think you've got a great story going here.

That’s what British farms are really like though, I can see why Americans, Canadians and Australians might find it a bit much though compared to what they’re used to
I’m sure there will be updates and maybe more land will be buyable in future
@@vaudevillian7 Yeah they really are, I remember having an arguement with a guy when Calmsden came out and he refused to believe the roads were that narrow. it simply wasn't possible... worst of it was he was from the UK 🤣
@@vaudevillian7 I play almost exclusively on British maps and have done since FS19. I like the laneways and tight farm yards etc but this feels overly restrictive. I'm not really interested in discussing updates for a map that's been in development for approaching 2 years.

No probably about 9pm at that time of the year, so it is a bit out
Nah around 10pm where im from until it gets dark in the summer. Theres a mod that lets you change the daylight hours and stuff for each month and season
@@shb90 Yeah I'm in Scotland and it can be after 11pm before it gets dary on really nice days in the summer. I've not heard of that mod, what's it called, I think I need to check that out

Hi, loving this new series. I have a farm sim question you may be able to help me with, my game keeps crashing on various different maps I’ve set up. I’ve deleted some maps but it’s bad on my latest map “Michigan Farms Map” any clues???
Hi, thanks very much, glad you are enjoying it. Have you tried loading the maps with no other mods installed? do they still crash? if the answer is no, one of your mods is dodgy and causing the issue 👍

@@stapes3cx No it can vary a lot sometimes depending on which mods you use too. you'll just need to add them back a few at a time and find the potential culprit. Also check your log and see if there are any errors highlighted there
The mod universal autoload seems to be hit and miss with certain trailers
What are the best mobs for realistic game play, please, and what best mud and dirt mods too as I'm getting this with my new pc
