Longest ruling monarch is no longer accurate for Victoria. But the TRADE AGREEMENT with Elizabeth? I love it.
Maybe this was in development before the death of Her Majesty
@@pablor.sepulveda9929 that wouldn't matter because the Queen claimed the title of longest ruling years ago? That didn't just happen because she died.
@@pablor.sepulveda9929 they could have re-dubbed it. It is almost 6 months
@@catmoonkenobi yeah Elizabeth claimed the longest ruler title in 2015
Queen Elizabeth II was the longest reigning monarch in British history. She was not the longest ruling because she did not rule over the nation. Ruling is done by the government (parliament) now and the monarchy is legally obligated to follow the government.
Minor note, but Queen Elizabeth II supplanted Queen Victoria as the longest reigning monarch in British history.
By about 7 years as I recall.
They described Victoria as the longest ruling, which she technically was since she still had a lot of powers as an Empress. Elizabeth didn't rule since the government does that now. You are right that Elizabeth II was the longest reigning.
Strange that they make that mistake when on the first Queen Vic intro video they said Vic was the second longest serving monarch
Victoria was the longest ruler while she was alive. that's the context here
It’s so obvious to me how did they miss thag
That’s the last pack of Leader Pass. Thank you for watching and I’ll see you on Civilization VII for one…more…turn.
Nooooooooo! we need more Civ VI.. please...just...one...more...turn...
@@gidamanco Too late. Sid Meier decided to make Civilization VII next year.
What about Julius Caesar who was announced?
@@PedroOliveira-fw5mn I signed up for 2K Account last year.
Thank you for all your efforts to make this one of my (and I'm sure many others) favourite games of all time! Bring on civ 7!
The mad lads made the trade agreement meme into an ability
Sometimes the best material is what you are given.
We're talking about the company that has kept the Nuclear Ghandi meme for 31 years
@@javahikage they used memes before there were memes
@@davyt0247 the best memes are the ones we made along the way
0:22 I love how you can hear the announcer smiling when he explains Elizabeth I’s meme-y agenda, hope the dev team are having fun!
Elizabeth and Victoria abilities are quite strong, and they synch well with rest of the England's abilities, Harald is total poor-man's Hungary.
Ye not only is the leader ability strong but the civ ability as well. For Norway now both abilities are weak as heck
@@luisgutierrez8047 Hey, if you play on the Terra map mode then you can colonise the other continent before anyone else can reach it.
@@something1600 ye that's hyper specific tho.
I actually think Harald's confluence abilities might be really fun. Levy far-flung mercenaries at optimal times and locations when/where opponents are weak, support them with your navy, and farm yields from kills. I wonder if this ability work for killing barbs.
My Queen! She has returned! And I see you took the meme and ran with it. Awesome!
And Queen Elizabeth II, (Modern Queen) is the longest reigning English Monarch. Not Victoria. (She's #2 on the list)
Maybe this was on development before the death of the Queen
@@pablor.sepulveda9929 maybe, but she passed Victoria in 2015, 7 years ago. Not an excuse.
Bland or not, E2 is still the longest reigning monarch. The comment in the video could be that Victoria was longest reigning monarch in history (up to her period in history but not looking at what comes after).
Maybe they weren't counting decorative monarchs.
@@LloydSkyLion Elizabeth wasn't, she was still technically the head if state, and thus the reigning monarch.
I love coming down to the comments and everybody is correcting the team on Victoria no longer holding the record for longer reign. It makes me smile
And the best part is that the video is still technically correct, since the voice-over said "longest ruling" and while Elizabeth reigned for long, she has little constitutional power so it can be argued she did not rule.
They literally called her agenda "trade agreement" 💀💀💀
Makes sense, the reason the others have more exotic sounding names is solely because of their different languages. In actuality, they are just as simple as that title. For example, Taxis (Byzantium’s unique ability) is just a taxing policy, and the domrey (Khmer unique unit) literally means elephant.
the joke ---------> 🛡️🧍 you
@@noaxhmr the explanation ----> you 🤷?💨🏃
@@Screwthenewhandlesystem alr lemme explain the joke
there's a meme about elizabeth in civ5, involving one of her lines in said game, which says "Would you be interested in a *trade agreement* with England?"
I haven't played civ5 in years but i do remember Lizzie I requesting those *trade agreements* A LOT, and maybe that's why it got popular. To summarize, that line is as associated to Elizabeth as nukes are associated with Gandhi
I'm done explaining the joke, and now that I've explained it, it's no longer funny, thank you very much
@@noaxhmr So you wouldn't be interested in a trade agreement with England, then?
0:39 they said the thing!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish Elizabeth got long bowman like in Civ 5. They were fun and satisfying to use
0:39 they did it! They said the thing! Also, Victoria's new abilities seem to now truly work well together. They had some synergy with basegame Victoria's abilities, but age of steam seems like a true synergy. Bravo, firaxis. Bravo!
They really did say the thing didn't they?
Dockyard: am I a joke to you? Literally zero reason to actually make a strategy with it now.
ONLY way it's useful is with golden age that gives it science so you can rush IZs and industrialization. And only if you have no good science adjacencies otherwise.

Be cool if you could turn a city state melee units into a unique unit like varangian guard but you can only make it by using a city state.
Does varangian Harald's ability just seem like a somewhat weaker version of Matthias Corvinus to anyone else or am I missing something?
To me it does. Basically they don’t get super good raiding stuff anymore and now have to be friendly with city states(as a dom civ) to hire units with money that they don’t get easily
weaker recruitment portion of the ability, but then you can use them to get yields just by killing units.
@@emm6064 I guess we'll have to see if the yields end up being equal to or better than the movement and combat strength
@@lord_tylor6866 ????? Getting 50 gold in early game is NOTHING. Yes it's weak but ...your undervaluing a lil TOO much lmao
@@thrandompug2254 ye its a worse in every way over Hungary. Useless civ ability now and weak leader ability.

Wasn't easy to create new leaders for those, but you truely nailed it !
Queen Victoria is the oldest reigning monarch because we all know that Elizabeth II is immortal... right?
Why not
how can she be immortal when she's dead? the QEII is immortal meme died when she did
I am in denial
@@gamerpigeon4513 I am in de thames
Bro Elizabeth became such a meme they turned her meme into her agenda, forever giving us proof that the devs really care for what the fans want, I love it
Excited about the pack! However, there's an error in the video. Elizabeth II was actually the longest-reigning monarch as of September 2015, which would make Victoria the 2nd longest-reigning monarch in British history.
🤓
@@Fat_Tony4224 Its a historical game they shouldnt get stuff like that wrong
Last one. Now we wait for seven
And I’m going to be playing regular Harald
Really interesting leaders, though I'm sad that Norway can't be anything else than "domination victory"
Fr I was hoping for a Norway with maybe some culture or production focus. This is just another terrible version of Harald. Hope for Civ VII I guess 🤞
@@repositoryofmemes ye this is a downgrade. Pillaging gives way more yields than this ability. And the cheap levies are only good in midgame onwards.
@@luisgutierrez8047 Varangian Harald seems to try to end domination early, like Hungary, instead of drawing things out and farming people for pillaging yields like normal Harald. Hungary is already pretty strong, so I don't think Varangian Harald is weak, he's just not as interesting.
@@Korvisio to do that you actually need a good CS bonus or a good economy to snowball, he has neither. Hungary is LEAGUES ahead. That extra movement allows him to pillage AND attack same turn. All while having extra CS. So not only its an economic bonus but a CS bonus rolled into one. Harald just has a weak econ bonus in comparison.
@@luisgutierrez8047 Varangian Harald gets Faith Culture and Science equal to 50% of the dead unit's CS, even killing 1 warrior is 10 F/C/S, that's like 1 free turn of Sci and Cult at the start of the game, and more later on. He also pays 75% less to levy, which means you will never not have enough gold to levy, even the largest city state militaries rarely cost more than 1000 gold to levy. The snowball for V Harald and Hungary start in different places, Harald's is in getting those units under control immediately, Hungary's is keeping those units strong and their city-states safe from flipping against them. I do think Hungary is better, but I don't think V Harald will be bad. You can always plug in the Raid card anyway.
I love that Firaxis turned a meme into an agenda for Elizabeth.
I love this game. I do wonder why you chose Hadrada as an England leader, when he never was one. Now William the Bastard on the other hand.
Or Godwinson
It's easier to alter a pre-existing model than to create a new one.
Also, he's one of the only pre-existing leaders to have anything to do with England.
Or William III, it would be hilarious to have one of the most well-known rulers (stadtholder) of the Netherlands be a leader for England instead. (And it is technically correct; thanks to this connection the current Dutch king is still 890th in the British line of succession.)
It doesn't look like he will actually play as England in-game, it's just the name of the pack.
Or Alfred the Great.
0:58 Elizabeth II is now the longest ruling British Queen
There should have been William the Conquer and Winston Churchill for England.
Hello i heard you like production? So we gave you extra production when you produce production buildings in your production district.
LOL did anyone even give a glance to Age of Steam's ability when they were balancing it? Elizabeth 1 and Varangian Harald are interesting but the new Victoria just gives you nuts amounts of production for doing something you would have done anyways.
Now germany has a production enemy 😎👌
Germany still pops off earlier so maybe not. Gonna have to depend on how good the +2 production is into carrying her into the midgame
@@Jk-qx7gm you aren't right, +2 prod. from quarry isn't bad, but your total district plannig will be shity af because of resources. You can't have enough quarry-resources even abundance in settings. But it's a good thing that gaul gain production in the begging game. Germany is district king, because: first district you gain from science is campus, built it, next is commercial centre, you can built with state ability, it's important for hansas, so built it also, next is hansa, the last piece in district plannig. So from this plan germany has gold, science and a lot of production. You can built some encampments instead of few campus and you'll get a war machine.
I'm excited to see Elizabeth return, but I will say my biggest disappointment with the whole Leader Pass is the amount of duplicate leaders. Instead of adding alternate personalities for existing leaders, I'd have much preferred to see new leaders outright. Churchill instead of Victoria 2.0 and Ragnar Lodbrok instead of Harald 2.0 would've been much better imo.
It isn't even really just an issue with the pass, but the game as a whole. Would've loved a different president instead of two Teddys, or Napoleon instead of a second Catherine. Would've added more flavor to the game.
As admin of a Facebook group on the game, I've come across a post making a suggestion for Civ7 that would require all civs to have at least two available leaders if implemented. It got me to investigate whether it would be feasible for all 50 civs in Civ6. My verdict? Well, apart from the fact it would be awkward to switch between two leaders that have the same name (such as Montezuma I and Montezuma II, or Jayavarman II and Jayavarman VII), no issues at all. Even short-lived empires such as Gran Colombia have more than one to choose from -- take Antonio Jose de Sucre. Or, in the case of Zulu, Dingane as an alternative to Shaka.
The suggestion was about having the ability to have a forced change of leadership in mid-game if you neglect Amenities.
@@benoitblanchard1576 Forced change of leadership sounds VERY interesting tbh. Something that would also be cool is if a free city remains free for long enough, it turns into a new civ that isn't currently in the game. Revolutions are a very important aspect of history that are certainly more prevalent in Civ 6 than in past games, but could be emphasized even more.
@@benoitblanchard1576 I love the idea of forced change at least as part of a game mode, like f.e. dramatic ages though independent of the era mechanic

I would love to see Edwin Godwinson
Well, the last leader pass dlc and now what about the glitches? Do you plan to release new updates? are you going to fix the graphics bug of the disasters and the flood walls of gathering storm that disappear when reloading the game? Can someone help me? Im trying to find this dlc on steam but it doesnt seem available in germany. Is it still not released?
I would like a trade agreement with England
My boy Harald looking swole as hell. Love to see it.
If we were to get Canute in the main game, could he be like Kublai Khan be able to lead multiple nations?
Knut would have been a much better pick honestly. He was actually King of Norway, Denmark, and England simultaneously. That would be really interesting to feature in Civ 6, but, alas...
@@PercivalC Seeing the Varangian past version of Harald is great at least. No Canute for Civ 6 is a shame though
Although, of course, Harald never even became king of England. The norman William and many other anglo-saxons examples should've had actual priority. The same Canute as well.
Really interesting pack and well done; definitely buying it. However for Civ 7, I'd love to see some less well known leaders for England; Maybe Alfred the Great? Dude was a machine and doesn't appear to have ever had a bad word said against him, which I am sure you will agree is a rarity for famous historical figures. Technically he didn't rule England as a fully united country, just the southern, middle and western bits (his daughter and grandson finished the job he started) but I still think he would be a fantastic choice. Edward I or III might be another great choice.
Didnt England have a Queen that ruled about 7yrs longer?
Yeah Elizabeth II did, they goofed
@@davyt0247 Or this was in development before the event
@@pablor.sepulveda9929 possible but I doubt it, Elizabeth passed Victoria 7 years ago, on September 9th 2015, after all.

I think the technicality is that Elizabeth II reigned for longer, but didn't really rule (as her constitutional power was strongly restricted).
Although Elizabeth's ability is not bad Victoria's ability is quite busted. Having extra production for each building in the industrial zone and another extra for every strategic resources? Damn that's busted specially for a domination victory. Not only you will have advanced military but also you will be able to produce units almost instantly. Sweet mother of God.
I’m pumped tho, I feel like I never wanted to play England (my country) til now, now we have a busted England for a while even if she gets nerfed one day

Elizabeth II is England's longest monarch
Last one can't we please get Venice back

Woohoo 🎉🎉
Couple of things. Victoria was not the longest ruling monarch and Harold never claimed the English throne. He tried to invade but was defeated
They mean claim diplomatically, not that he succeeded in seizing it.
He did claim it, he just never managed to actually enforce his claim
He did claim it.
I can't believe they made the meme into her special ability and it's so overpowered. I love it!
I like how someone who never ruled England is in the rulers of England pack, there's so many great choices and you went with all the ones that the Civ franchise has done before.
do we get this as Mac users
Why is Harald part of this pack? He has never ruled any part of England
This is what I said too! Sure he had a claim but that doesn't mean he should be a Leader for a nation he never ruled. The better choice here would be Harold Godwinson or Cnut the Great since he ruled both England and Norway in his lifetime.
Yeah doesn't make sense to me either, I'm surprised they didn't pick Harold Godwinson
He ruled York and Stamford Bridge for about a week
