Thank you for the information, i always believed the foreign remittance is sort of drip to our economy. I have number of questions: Q1- Why are we allowing Dollars Exchange companies to take place of banks? Q2- Just like in India, Remittances land as Indian Rupee; why we are allowing Dollar Accounts/ Riyal Accounts to be operated. why cant SBP have the foreign currencies and direct PKR to the beneficiary account? Q3- As per the recent data from RDA, 60~65% inflows of remittances are from Gulf States. ( Thats a little bit alarming as what is the back-up plan if Saudis say our brothers to pack up and leave the land; apart from this) all the people sending the money is due to non-residency in Gulf state.. SBP should introduce some sort of ETFs so that it would help PSX to grow and will also help in reducing the inflation( which the overseas have created in sort of plots acquiring) Q4- OR We can use Money from Overseas to build our industrialization and we can build corporations ( just like ENGRO).. which will further multiply. All the overseas will be the owner of those companies. This organization can work as an authority whose primarily responsibility will be to build factories and maintain them.

One thing that concerned me was with the State Bank Act on Price Stability which was discussed in the last segment of this video. Is this something new which SBP introduced? Since as far as I understand the central duty of any central bank across the globe is price stability. So my question naturally is, why is SBP so proudly highlighting this as an achievement?
Mega Projects should carry economic value rather than throwing money on non productive elements. Loyalty, honesty and integrity is absolute must for policy making.
Your main point was currency devalue because of current account deficit but 30 billion current account deficit covered by 30 billion remittance in (2022) but still our currency devaluation is much high! Why it is like that
As mentioned in the podcast that both our exports and remittances combined are not able to cover out imports. The main reason is that we are consumption-driven economy and likely to spend rather than to save. Since more dollars are going out (in the form of exports) than they are coming in, the burden on the rupee is intense. The demand for out PKR rupee is very low thus leading to constant currency devaluation. Just imagine, if overseas residents reduce their remittances coming to Pakistan. We will face what Sri Lanka is facing right now, a MAJOR DEFAULT !!
SO to make sense of inflation differential for this exports case, with USD/PKR being 60.27 in 2006, it should be 159.29 to cover this inflation differential. We are around 223 today , is it because our productivity and quality has fallen to create another PKR 64 depreciation after the inflation differential ?

My three generations have served in Pak Army. Retired at ranks of Lt Generals, Major Generals Brigadiers and many other high ranks. My brother Major rank martyred in Baluchistan and my serving uncle is Lieutenant general. Last week we had family dinner get together and I asked him few questions before leaving for USA to commence my medicine degree from Harvard. His answers were shocking. He was not happy from current situation. He said rank and file pulse has been communicated to superior command and they are questions. There is tremendous pressure on Bajwa and 5 other Lt Generals who are part of this. The majority of senior ranks of army command and serving Lt generals who are still with IK are waiting for the right moment. This is just summary what I observed from my uncle answers. Let me tell you that Pakistan nation don’t have to worry about current crisis. I am leaving with good faith and hope and good news is that when Pakistan interest comes then no one is above that not even chief of army staff and 5 Lt Generals .. I hope you get my point what my uncle wanted to communicate. You will see soon what happens next…

Current Account Deficit is arrived at by incorporating the remittances numbers as well.
