Thanks Bright Cellars for sponsoring this video and for the limited-time offer! Take the quiz brightcellars.com/prickly and comment your matches. I checked to see if there were any audio issues with this video and I think I fixed the panning issue my videos have been having, but let me know if y'all have any issues!
The purple pockets help diffuse the Santa vibes quite a bit. As always, it's cool to see you style your creations for different aesthetics and occasions! Also, this video's sponsor makes me think that you're endorsing the comment section's bonkers drinking game rules. Full speed ahead (actually please drink responsibly, though)!
I *know* Kira is in her twenties, but I admit that when she introduced her sponsor, I went, "wait, she's old enough to drink??" which probably says a lot more about my own age than hers, alas...
As an elder millenial who had one of these amazing faux fur trimmed coats in the early 00s, this warms my heart and frustrates me to no end because why, oh, why did I get rid of it in the 2010s...
Without the fur trim, it's giving Bilbo's dinner coat (and also Stede's dressing gown). I love that you decided to do patchwork lining! While you were going through your lining options, I was literally thinking, "Do a patchwork lining!" TBH with the mismatched sleeves, it looks more medieval revival, rather than christmassy--especially with the 2nd and 3rd looks!
Kira, I think my favorite thing about your videos is how excited you’ve been for each eclectic idea and workshopping solutions. The joy is clearly reflected in the finished product, both in terms of the physical item and in the video! I loved the style session at the end, even though I know that must have taken extra editing time, but seeing your maximalist coming out full force is always amazing. Please keep just doing whatever catches your fancy, we’re along for the ride wherever it takes you!
This coat is such a vibe. Like a nostalgic 90s wizard/warlock. Some sewing tips no one asked for: - when you are making something structured from a thick/heavy fabric then you should *ease your sleeves* to create room for your shoulder and shoulders blades. Look it up it’s too long to explain but I promise it’s not hard but very much helps with fit. - I would invest the time into creating a flat pattern block for yourself. It makes pattern making way easier then draping everything and is fitted to your body (if you make a block using your exact measurements rather than getting one in your dress size)
I honestly think it'll depend on how you style it how "Santa" it gives. You can definitely style it more Stevie nicks and tone down the Santa effect a bit. Edit: got to the styling part of the video and you definitely nailed the Stevie nicks vibes in some of your looks! Very cute!
Get your letters ready everyone, Santa's daughter has come to town! Lol The look you said you would not go out with looks like a 4th Doctor look, it just needs the scarf
As someone who loves Penny Lane's coat from Almost Famous to an unhealthy degree, i really appreciated this project. And agreed - nothing better than a big dramatic faux fur collar
It was looking like father Christmas but the finished style looks like Kate 1960's early 70's rock star . Which I really like. Looks real good. I'd wear it out. But I'm the kind of person that if I like it , that's what matters. Wear it when you want. Like damn the torpedoes full steam ahead! You go woman!
Truly amazing, and also doesnt look to Santa-ish to me! The purple and texture on the back really makes it stand out, its giving more Sanderson Sisters than Santa imo
Kira if you ever want another faux-fur method that's very customizable - look into combing out and flat ironing yarn! It's fairly common in the furry/cosplay community and I think you'd do amazing things with it.
seeing that uzumaki manga in the reveal REALLY made me crave some eldritch horror inspired designs. i'm nowhere near Kira's level, but I might have to get to drawing
The coat... the fifth outfit... holy crap! That's one of my dream styles right there. I WANT to have a coat like that, but I also WANT TO draw that coat ahhhhh so cool! My corvid brain is so happy
I have been renewed in my desire to make an overly dramatic coat/housecoat! (Also, the other day I saw a 48ct bag of potato and cheese pierogis in the grocery store and now I'm forever going to associate them with you. 😂)
You're giving that one cousin that only comes over for the holidays for wine and rituals. (I am this kind of cousin and I want to make a jacket like yours because I love it despite the accidental Christmas color theme)
ive always wanted a penny lane style jacket but could never rationalize dropping too much money for one so it was nice to see someone make it more accessibly
I love the coat! It is so cool looking. Also I know some people think that the coat is giving Santa- but personally I think it is giving more Bernard the Elf from the Santa Clause movies. Which as someone who wishes they could dress like him all the time, I mean that in the most complimentary and nicest way possible!
It definetely looks more festival on the front, but looking at the thumbnail with the coat on its back it's way harder to make the connection to a santa coat
"lets go throw these into a bath of black tea and coffee!" oh you meant that LITERALLY, okay... absolutely love the end result tho it looks really nice!! i love all of your projects
I always get really shocked when you do things that make me think of you as fancy adult , like you are only a few years older than me (fully forgetting that I am also adult )
The slacks, vest, and striped shirt is my favorite look! I want that shirt, it's gorgeous. Love the coat, it turned out so nice. I think the low key festive vibes are really working. It ads whimsy without screaming Christmas.
I've been starting to want to become a wizard recently. And I was looking for coat tayloring videos earlier and didn't find anything pleasing. Though this isn't the style I'm looking for, I'm enjoying the journey chaotic as usual, but weirdly, chaotic artists make the best things, like Bobby Duke
I love the series Charmed! Also I had no idea that u are the same height as I'm, really though u would be taller. The Coat really suits u, great work, as usual! ❤
I think you could always change out the red sleeve for another green one or the purple from the pockets to diffuse the Santa vibes but regardless it looks great!
This is exactly the inspiration I needed to make my own fur-trimmed coat !! I love how ✨EXTRA✨ and ✨MAXIMALIST✨ you made yours, while still being super stylish
Quick tip :D use paper towel to drape (when you want something to form to the body, not for coats). Not necessarily for thick fabrics, but also for thin ones!!! its more similar to fabric than newspaper
This is amazing. I love the mismatched sleeves. What a lovely pattern- you could make a few of these for the different seasons. Picture a shear one for the spring!
Wasn't expecting a psych reference at the end of a pricklyalpaca video but really why am I surprised. Love it!! 😊 also pretty sure I have those same boots, that made me happy

It's giving "Santa's girlboss niece" vibes, on a tasteful level. Also, short queens unite! 👑

Same!!
Same!!!
Sooo cute!!!! personally I'm getting more "pagan trickster" than "Santa Claus" in the end, hope that was more of the intended vibe
As an elder millenial who had one of these amazing faux fur trimmed coats in the early 00s, this warms my heart and frustrates me to no end because why, oh, why did I get rid of it in the 2010s...
This coat has such early seasons Phoebe from Friends vibes!!
I’M OBSESSED 😭♥️
that’s SO accurate, and I love it!!🥰
God you’re so right

It has autumnal vibes, but it isn’t 100% giving Santa. I actually really love it.
This coat is such a vibe. Like a nostalgic 90s wizard/warlock.

It definitely gives cold weather vibes, but in a "roasted veggie soup on a winter day" way. It's making me fondly remember my suede duster.
why did I read that as “suede daughter”, I did a double take lmao😂
"I dont know what it is, but its pretty, and my brain likes it" is honestly so real
And now I will never again look at Mollymauk from Critical Role without thinking of this fashion style, omg. This is so good!
I was searching for this comment! It totally looks like his iconic fit
I honestly think it'll depend on how you style it how "Santa" it gives. You can definitely style it more Stevie nicks and tone down the Santa effect a bit.
Edit: got to the styling part of the video and you definitely nailed the Stevie nicks vibes in some of your looks! Very cute!
It's giving off "Santa's badass but sweet secretary" amazing work✨
Ah the ye olde afgan coat with a modern twist. Love it.
With the muted colors, it's giving pile of cronchy leaves to me, not so much Santa 🍁 super whimsigoth and awesome work!
Get your letters ready everyone, Santa's daughter has come to town! Lol
The look you said you would not go out with looks like a 4th Doctor look, it just needs the scarf
3:33 Perfect loaf form achieved
I always called these "Murdered my Husband" Coats. It looks really cute and reminds me of Howl from Howl's Moving Castle
The amount of 70s vibes I’m getting from this is amazing and you look stunning as always
As someone who loves Penny Lane's coat from Almost Famous to an unhealthy degree, i really appreciated this project. And agreed - nothing better than a big dramatic faux fur collar

Obsessed. I’ve been wanting a patchwork / whimsigoth / Charmed era coat for so long. You nailed it
Its giving cozy comfy Sabrina the Teenage Witch. And I'm here for it!
Truly amazing, and also doesnt look to Santa-ish to me! The purple and texture on the back really makes it stand out, its giving more Sanderson Sisters than Santa imo
It's giving Santa's Cool Sister/Niece. or A relative of the original live action Sabrina the Teenage Witch that works for Santa/Winter. Very nice
It's awesome, BTW that romper is everything. It reminds me of the jacket that girl wears in almost famous
I'm getting autumn/ winter Penny Lane, (Almost Famous) and I am absolutely here for it!
Kira if you ever want another faux-fur method that's very customizable - look into combing out and flat ironing yarn! It's fairly common in the furry/cosplay community and I think you'd do amazing things with it.
seeing that uzumaki manga in the reveal REALLY made me crave some eldritch horror inspired designs. i'm nowhere near Kira's level, but I might have to get to drawing
honestly i didn't see santa vibes at all in the finished product! definitely one of my favorite pieces from you so far, like 70s witch aunt
the best days are pricklyalpaca days 🥰
I think the santa ish vibes here totally work because you're always giving us the gift of your presence and content
👍💖
Such a cool project! The patchwork vibes and color scheme of the fabric remind me of Bilbo’s patchwork robe ❤
The coat... the fifth outfit... holy crap! That's one of my dream styles right there.
I WANT to have a coat like that, but I also WANT TO draw that coat ahhhhh so cool! My corvid brain is so happy
Santa but make it slayyyy! Maybe a brown fur could have helped things but meh! Still fun 🙌🏻💕
I’ve been obsessing over this kind of coat for the past month and I think you just convinced me to make my own
To me the coat is has both autumn & Winter vibes, it's so pretty 💫💫
The florence pic 😂❤
Thats how i know i made the right choice in decorating my apartment as whimsigoth as i can. Love this coat!
I have been renewed in my desire to make an overly dramatic coat/housecoat! (Also, the other day I saw a 48ct bag of potato and cheese pierogis in the grocery store and now I'm forever going to associate them with you. 😂)
I love it! You look like a rebellious 1970s elf who sells magical potions in the North Pole back streets ✨✨
Love the patterned skirt with the green top! So cute and autumnal-rainbow!
it's giving "You're the newest regen of the Doctor" from Doctor Who, and its glorious
ohhhh this is exactly the kind of wizardcore nonsense my brain has been craving lately very good very fun
OH HELLS YEAH!!!!! 🤩🥰
I love this. It’s giving Aggie Cromwell of the Halloweentown films 😍❤❤❤
That is such a cool Afghan coat! Love the design. I wish I had your talent and artistry.
It's giving, now I wanna make one. But inorder to do that, I need to learn how to sew.
This coat is amazing you look like a 60\70s Santa reading to rock the town
You're giving that one cousin that only comes over for the holidays for wine and rituals. (I am this kind of cousin and I want to make a jacket like yours because I love it despite the accidental Christmas color theme)
The coat is iconic and your Gwenpool shirt is dope
ive always wanted a penny lane style jacket but could never rationalize dropping too much money for one so it was nice to see someone make it more accessibly

As a fellow maximalist I don’t foresee ever giving up pattern clashing, its so much fun! I love this coat, you did a kick ass job!!!!!
It's giving Phoebe from friends
It’s giving rise of the guardians Santa. full coolness marks =D
"lets go throw these into a bath of black tea and coffee!" oh you meant that LITERALLY, okay...
absolutely love the end result tho it looks really nice!! i love all of your projects
love the colors and patterns it just hits my brain in all the right way
sees kira drinking wine, is hit with the realization anew that she is not in fact a teenager.
I always get really shocked when you do things that make me think of you as fancy adult , like you are only a few years older than me (fully forgetting that I am also adult )

chaotic as usual, but weirdly, chaotic artists make the best things, like Bobby Duke
I wish you still added the tassels onto the finished coat lol
the universe said you will be holly and jolly and be joyus with the holiday spirit LMAO as a christmas gorl myself i LOVE THIS COAT
That second outfit in the reveal is just-- 😍😍😍😍😍
Purple is also a Christmas color for priests. Love this Clausmasgoth jacket
If you add some purple patches to the sleeves it might offset the Santa vibes
Beautiful work!
It reminds me of Taliesin Jaffe's character, Mollymauk Tealeaf, from the Mighty Nein D&D campaign!
I love it!! Reminds me of a coat I had in the 70’s 😊
I love the jacket!!!! I love the big pattern, time to go find fun patterns
SHESBACKKKK
I love the series Charmed! Also I had no idea that u are the same height as I'm, really though u would be taller. The Coat really suits u, great work, as usual! ❤
Styled right this could DEFINITELY give 70s esque or Stevie nixx. Absolutely love it!!
I think you could always change out the red sleeve for another green one or the purple from the pockets to diffuse the Santa vibes but regardless it looks great!
I like the different coloured sleeves! They definitely fit the patchwork vibe.
im so glad you did this! i really liked this design from the designing video, so im so happy to see how this turned out
About the santa core vibe: You are as badass as North from the "Rise of Guardians" Movie with a pint of Mad Hatter. Really cool project.
ahhh I love that description, fuck yeah!!
Definitely giving off Charmed vibes. LOVE IT!!!
This is exactly the inspiration I needed to make my own fur-trimmed coat !!
I love how ✨EXTRA✨ and ✨MAXIMALIST✨ you made yours, while still being super stylish
I love it!! I love the colors!! ❤
That clip from Psych just completed the video 😭
Also you've made me want more coats!! Even though I'm perpetually warm!! DARN YOU KIRA!!!
Quick tip :D use paper towel to drape (when you want something to form to the body, not for coats). Not necessarily for thick fabrics, but also for thin ones!!! its more similar to fabric than newspaper
Ooo, this is a great idea!
@@PricklyAlpaca OMG YOU REPLIED TO ME 😭😭 THANK YOU SO MUCH
This is soo sick, always look forward to your chaotic videos, but I miss your sketchbook content!
THE PSYCH EPISODE REFERENCES AT THE ENDDDDD SEASON 2 EP. 1 AMERICAN DUOSSSSSS (also the coat is gorgeous)
This is amazing. I love the mismatched sleeves. What a lovely pattern- you could make a few of these for the different seasons. Picture a shear one for the spring!
16:55 it definitely suits you
I can't tell if it's giving more Howl Pendragon or Thranduill but I am HERE for it
I was so hoping this drawing would become a reality because I too have always loved this style of coat I am SOOO thrilled you did this yes yes yesssss
I love this so much!!!! The colors, the trim, all of it!!! That fabric was definitely a score!!! You did an amazing job!!! ❤
I think we need to release red and green color combinations from the cage of christmas.
Beautiful work! Faux-fur lined coats are coming back and I'm here for it! Yay pockets!
Very very cool. I'd have added a hood with the bead seen at 1:21 on the tip
I love it! It gives me strong "Mollymauk Tealeaf modern AU " vibes!
Wasn't expecting a psych reference at the end of a pricklyalpaca video but really why am I surprised. Love it!! 😊 also pretty sure I have those same boots, that made me happy
The hairy tan square spiraling in and out of frame is so funny.
I've been rewatching Charmed, too! The last time I watched it, I was 4, so it was necessary
Accidentally becoming whimsiclaus is sort of an impressive achievement
