Since 1995 Frankenstein Trikes owner Frank Pedersen has designed and produced award winning Choppers, Custom motorcycle frames and Trikes. In 2005 Frank Pedersen and long time friend Steinar Bergby decided the Trike industry needed the next generation of Trike rear ends.
Frank and Stein adapted their experience in design, style and fabrication to create the revolutionary Frankenstein Trikes Hot Rod Trike Rear end.
The Frankenstein Trike rear end was originally conceived to provide a custom Trike rear end that was lighter, stronger, narrower, more reliable and better looking than what was available.
We introduced the 30” Hot Rod Trike rear end and custom bike builders loved it. What we didn’t expect was the overwhelming interest from individuals who wanted to convert their stock bike into a Trike.
As a result, we made wider rear ends that are better suited for stock bike conversions. Gradually, with each conversion we designed swing arms, fenders, fender brackets and sourced wheels and tires.
Within the first two years we developed kits for most Harley Davidson models. Now we offer our customers complete, simple bolt-on Trike kits, that can be installed in one day. Quality and design set us apart from our competitors.
We use only the best components and materials such as Dana differentials, 9” Ford street/strip axles, billet 4 piston calipers, stainless steel rotors, grade 8 or better hardware and 6061 T6 Billet aluminum.
We are constantly adding new products, listening to user feedback and expanding the options available to our customers. Our Trike Kits are manufactured right here in Pleasanton, Kansas, USA.
We want our customers to have a satisfying experience when purchasing, installing and owning a Frankenstein Trike kit. Our entire staff is dedicated to quality and continuous improvement.
Choosing a Trike kit is an important decision, we expect you to compare our Trike kits to those of other manufacturers. We believe, the more you compare, the better we look.

I really appreciate professionals like this who tell you all the tips, tricks, or details. It would be natural for somebody to forget that others don't have their experience.
@@Milfordbeach absolutely, thank you!
Ordered my kit for my 2004 soft tail standard suppose to be here tomorrow getting bike apart now like watching this guy work very helpful keep my fingers crossed it goes well
How did it go?
This mechanic knows his stuff!!! Highly skilled and fast.. Frankenstein Trike kits are the only way to go....Ride safe to all....
This man did my brother Jon's conversion. I highly recommend this company and their products. I would share a photo, but I am not as smart as my phone. Every one we met at Frankenstein Trikes are friendly and very mechanical. I am a retired millwright/welder. These folks build a quality trike.
Thanks for the kind word, Stan!
They impressed me, I thought about.just trading for a Freewheeler, but after thinking it over,,,,🤔🤔?? They get my business 😃👍
Very helpful. I have viewed this several times to build confidence and recall.
Weather you like trikes or not this kit is amazing just installed my 3rd on on my uncle's bike did another 2 on my Fathers way back and another uncle and they are amazing bolts on super clean and they are bullet proof ride great and affordable compared to other kits or factory trikes. I would recommend these kits to anyone
Thank you for your kind words!
Joe is awesome! Wrenches and ratchets everything. Great old school
technique, no power wrenches here boys!
All my respect. Gotta love a specialist who know his job!!!!
Awesome job you did and that looks cool. I am an Ole'" Marine who lives in the north woods of Wisconsin and I am building a trike out of my old 2002 Fat Boy but I am using a DNA trike kit and after watch you do that Frankenstein trike kit build I am wishing I would have bought that kit instead. Also a few years back when I was around 60 I broke down and some nice battery powered impact tools and does that make it all go fast over using wrenches and ratchets, just my opinion. Maybe I will see ya someday on the road with my bobber Fat Boy trike. Keep the shiny side up and live your dream! Later Bro, OOO-RAH!!!! Get Some!
He's really good. That kit looks very well engineered.
The instructions for my kit was dead nuts on ! Not one problem none ! Great job fellows! Cept someone took my tee shirt !
@Scott Ewell Glad to hear your build went smoothly! Sucks about the t-shirt though, give us a call and we'll get you taken care of! Our number is (913) 352-6788 and we're open Mon-Fri, 8 am - 5 pm. Our you can send an email to info@frankensteintrikes.com

great job, fantastic project. and the mechanic friend, reminds me of the great actor; Vincent Price
Haha, thanks!
Someday my twin brother, my best friend, my cousins and I are going to do a Frankenstein trike trip to either Florida or Vegas. Got to look at the best kit
This is on my bucket list.
I hope I have enough time left,...to fill my bucket list.
Excellent video! I would totally trust this man with my ride!
Thanks! And he's a great mechanic!
Great video!! Now all I need is a motorcycle and the trike kit
Your trick looks sick bro, awesome build.
Like it better then those training wheels on some I see
Good job frank I like the way you do it
Near beginning I feared it would be "$ bill green" looking .. nope I was wrong ..looks badass .. good vid
Love how this guy works. Great Video
Amigo eres todo un genio de la mecánica lo haces tan fácil y se aprende, de hecho ese es mi sueño hacer un triciclo moto
Felicidades por enseñar.
As for using an impact , there are situations where it's not a good thing, as they can over torque. Better to go a little slower and use elbow grease instead. Good video 😎
Awesome video Great work !
Have a 1200 sportster with one of these kits name on it.. I've been looking around and these frankensteins are the best.
Awesome, glad to hear it!
Just now seeing this video. Thanks for sharing.
Sombody get this man an impact!
Yes!
Huh" you took the words outta' my mouth 💥
Love the idea. I'm thinking of this for the future if it works for my Indian Chieftain.
You make it look easy. But excellent instructions.
Thanks! We also designed our rear-end to be installed by anyone with some mechanical knowledge, so it's not too difficult. You can take a look at our installation instructions on our website, www.frankensteintrikes.com
Damn that looks f'n sweet, on a softail even. Great job, excellent video. Tell y'all are in Cali somewhere 😎
Thanks! We wish we were in Cali! We're actually located in southeast Kansas, about an hour south of Kansas City. However, we have dealers all over the world and also ship directly to our customers.
Nothing like a great WRENCHING video!
Excellent mechanic knows his stuff nice job 👍
He definitely does!
Awesome, thank you! I think a lot of people would appreciate one of these install videos for a Sportster. I'm sure it's a popular choice for your kit - I have a 2010 Forty-Eight and a video would be VERY helpful.
Thanks! We'll be doing more videos for different conversions as we do them in-house, so be sure to subscribe to see new videos!
Changing belts and rotors is pain in the but once you have that Frankenstein on the bike trike 🔱
Great video. Love the built in boot aircon...lol
that is fkn sick ! best looking trike kit ive seen ! wish you had a kit for a honda phantom !
We don't build any kits for shaft-driven bikes.
If you have any questions, let us know.
Dont care for frankensteins much but joe n josh are on point. Lookin good guys. See u around
Beautifull. Job man great. I learned lots from you ..thanks peace ✌
Fine job!!!! It would be nice to get rid of the fender and have some kind of a molded double fender system and perhaps maybe a little trunk in the back
An L shaped backrest box molded to fit right on top of the fender is the only way to go ..it's a belt driven mobile so you gotta protect that belt drive with all the high fashion u can get .. lol
Absolutely brilliant love well done and well explained cheers Larrysullivan in London
I'm thinking about getting one of these for my Sportster but I see how you're doing this with a old antiquated way of using a ratchet when you should be using some kind of battery powered device to get your work done much faster or even that air ratchet would be faster than by hand 👌
Great video
Thanks!
"Shulada de conversión de moto. Requerirá de permiso especial? Nueva tarjeta de circulación? cuanto cuesta una conversión de estas? Excelente video, gracias por compartir...
I know this is 4yrs old but two questions. 1st, do you offer the black axle? 2nd, what is the exact rim and tire size? I am planning my build over the winter and want to get everything soon. Thanks
How come Joe does all the hard work and not frank. Joe needs a raise ,hint hint frank.
Well done joe thanks for the info
Looks solid, well made, and easy to install.
I saw a blurb on the website about rake/trail "suggested triple trees." I have a stock frame '79 Electra Glide. What extra costs might I need to consider to meet the suggestion?
P.S. I don't need schooled on rake/trail, I'm just figuring out what I need to convert my beast.
Or should I call? Thanks.
We recommend the raked triple tree for every kit we sell. Without it, you might experience a low-speed wobble or heavy steering. Our kit lowers the rear-end of the bike by around 1/2" so the raked triple tree corrects the rake/trail to make it ride more like stock.
We definitely suggest giving us a call for details. Our number is 9133526788 and we're open Mon-Fri, 8 am - 5 pm CST.

That sounds like a great approach. Thanks, I'll be talking to you by the Fall when the weather cooperates a little better.
Thanks again.
I can't hold a heavy bike up anymore.Gonna get a trike kit too stay in the wind.Good job.😎
Leman trikes in PA has an independent rear air bag system so when you lean the opposite side stays on the ground. It’s nice not cheap though
Ese trike mola tela y cantidad.
Buen trabajo, muchacho!
I wish you had a video that showed changing the front end. Just a thought.
You made it look very easy, do you make then for the Kawasaki VN range ? Do you have a UK Importer, or can you deliver direct ?
We do not have an importer in the UK but we do ship directly to the UK.
We have made a kit for the Vulcan 1700 before, but to determine if our kit will work with your trike we'll need a VIN.
Please send us an email to info@frankensteintrikes.com with a VIN and we can provide you with more information.
Dammmm nice looking trike fenders and tire made that bike
Agreed!
when you come up with a kit for shaft drives,,, lemme know
Very nice kit how much and where are you located at 😊
Wow,Thatiz Amazing!
Quanto costa la trasformazione? Grazie buona giornata

do you have kit for fx dyna glide?
I need one for a 2008 soft tail custom
I lost my left leg below the knee last year from a motorcycle accident, I didn't feel to safe or comfortable riding it especially going slow or stopping, last Monday my prosthetic slipped off the peg and hit the ground and went flying, I suffered a bad spiral fracture and had surgery Tuesday , I want to keep my face in the wind and I want to do this Frankenstein kit to keep me alive, I've got a 08 soft tail custom, I would love to talk to someone about axel sizes, the rake, fenders, etc
@@patrickchristensen7937 Sorry to hear about that. Our kit would definitely work for you, but it would probably be best if you went to a local shop so they can help you with your specific needs, like hand controls and a strap for your prosthetic. But here's a link to our kit for the Softail: frankensteintrikes.com/trike_kits_softail_page.html

You do Great work...Bravo
Tell me something. What about fenders. Because of rain and inclement weather?
Our fenders are gel-coat fiberglass and are very durable, especially to the elements. They do come raw, so they have to be sanded and have primer applied before painting.
Great video !!
Thanks!
Hell yeah love it
Nice work keep it Up
Buddy of mine had one . lm pretty sure he liked it just fine. Biker went by Blue. Hes from Kc. And tode blue Frankenstein rig. I believe he said it had like a performance rearend in it?

I have a 2004 night train and I have MS so my balance is going to hell but I want it to lean too do you do a trike kit with independent suspension I've been riding my Yamaha 1600 roadstar with a sidecar and it doesn't lean at all
Our trike kit does not have independent suspension, it is a straight-axle trike kit.
Visit www.frankensteintrikes.com for more info and let us know if you have any questions.
About a year and a half ago I saw something that still has me scratching my head. I met a line of bikes in a long sweeping curve, the first 3 were 2 wheelers leaning into the curve the 3rd bike was a trike also leaning into the curve, the next 2 bikes were also trikes straight up, turning the front wheel to make the curve. So my question is how did someone make an articulated trike, how does it work, and how much does it cost?I'm usually pretty good At figuring mechanical things out but that has me stumped
Leaman trikes independent rear suspension
@@charlietaylor6389 thanks I'll have to check them out
How much is kit and install your work looks nice great job watching frm cols oh.
Hi Taj, check out our website www.frankensteintrikes.com for pricing of our trike kits. You can also find a list of our dealers on our website, for someone who is close to you that can do the installation. Or, if you have a bike shop that you trust, they can usually do the installation.
We also do installations in-house, the rear end installation is $540, to install the triple trees is $90/hr (usually takes 3-5 hours, depending on the bike). Painting fenders is $450 for one color, $550 for FL fenders, and $100 for additional colors or pinstriping.
Paint can take anywhere from 1-2 weeks, depending on how busy our painter is.
If you have any questions, give us a call at (913)352-6788. We're open Mon-Fri, 8 am - 5 pm CST.
Hello My wife's Kit just arrived. Can you tell me if I will need any special tools not in the average household? She has the XG500 Street kit
We highly recommend using a torque wrench and torqueing all of the bolts to the specifications in the installation manual that came with your trike kit. We also suggest using a lift or something similar to protect the rear-end and to make installation easier. You can find installation instructions on our website, www.frankensteintrikes.com or give us a call if you have any questions. Our number is (913) 352-6788 and we're open Mon-Fri, 8 am - 5 pm CDT.
I would like to see if you can turn my bike into a trike on video

Don't stick your finger in a hole to line it up! That's how you lose your finger! Seen it happen!
What size axle are you installing? Also what is the tire size?
For this trike we used 38" axles and the customer supplied tires that are 315/35/17
How awesome.how much for 82 xl kit?. badass
Here's our page for an 82 Sportster: frankensteintrikes.com/trike_kits_sportster-1957-1987_page.html
Is a change in the degree of the triple needed? Is this kit available for a 2015 Triumph Scrambler?
Frankenstein trikes can you put that trike kit on a Honda 650 and how much is it going to convert it to a tricycle to a trike
If it's belt or chain drive, one of our rear ends should work. Give us a call for more details.
best man 😎
I need a kit for a 2007 suzuki boulevard m109r
How much is the Frankenstein Trike kit Cost?
It depends on the year and model of the bike you're wanting to convert. Visit www.frankensteintrikes.com for pricing.
What about "reverse" ?
The reverse that we have used is a mechanical reverse kit that goes on the right side of the transmission.
The reverse works on 1988 and big twins.
There is no reverse available for the sportster, v-rod or the Harley street.
A bike with our kit installed is easy to push around.
Our kit adds about 120 to 150 pounds to the weight of the bike.
Other kits add well over 400 pounds to the weight of the bike.
The reverse cost $1099.00
Why not finish it with the fenders?
Man are those kits for harleys or do you make them for the metrics ?
We make trike kits mostly for Harleys, but a few Yamahas and Kawasakis. Visit www.frankensteintrikes.com for more info or give us a call at (913) 352-6788. We're open Mon-Fri, 8 am - 5 pm CST.
TRICK TO put that 1\4 inch washer, is to put a short piece of tape on th washer and lower it down into the gap.
What size tire and.rim are these?
A wise man said.... take pictures or video, if you want to put it back together.
Why does this mechanic NOT use an air ratchet?
Craftsman tools is a good sign
About how many hours can it take to finish one
It depends. We've had some customers get the trike kit in the morning and be riding by evening, but most people like to take their time and stretch it out over a weekend. We do recommend you have someone help you with lifting the kit.
