Sainz almost beat Mäkinen in 98 through consistency, and Auriol in 99 was also really close, but if you had to say which car was better at pure performance, you have to say the Mitsubishi Evo IV-V-VI had the edge over the Corolla.
what does this thing has from a regular street Corolla?? name, logo and a resembling shape, these spawns has nothing to do with their mainstream counterpart car.

The Celica GT-Four used the 3sgte engine. The Corolla WRC re-used both the GT4's engine and AWD system
