My husband finally got his pump few weeks ago. He is so relieved and calm now. And I'm also much calmer knowing that he's diabetes os managed automatically.
I've started this exact pump and CMG 2 months ago, after nearly 15 years of finger pricking, manual pen injections, and guestimating too often with food. Despite its pains and aches that comes with this change, I couldn't ask for a better diabetic therapy. A lot of burden and feeling sick too often has started to occur less. I'm more inclined to continue to revive my health after 9 years of diabetic burnout and distress thanks to this technology. It is fantastic to know others out there are reeping the benefits, having access to this technology.
The 780G system changed the game for me, but that Guardian sensor is the reason I’m thinking about going back to MDI. Sorry to rain on your parade - live your life and be happy
Yup, i got mine a month ago. Technology in diabetes has come a long way. I love mine, it's like an AI. After first being diagnosed I was doing about 8 pokes a day between shots and finger pokes-- now its about 8 a month. Numbers now rarely go past 200
Use skintac on the skin before applying sensor and then rub it on top of the sensor tape. Sometimes I also apply heat because the adhesives are heat activated. For this I use my blow dryer. Then for the other two pieces of tape I take the same skintac wipe and put it around the sensor and once tape is applied put it on top of the tape. Sometimes my site is on so good my shirt sticks to it.😂
Its a good meter but there's some problems still with the 780G and 770G. I talked with Diabetes specialist. Ect.They do not t have a clue to fix it. The problem is the with both meters still so far is when my blood sugar is 65 it is still given me insulin it happens all the time. Over all a good meter.
I have been with Medtronic since 2001 and recently thought of switching to something without a tethered device and when I tried to research the company they are really tight with the info. And even tho that item is considered a pharmacy benefit in which I’d have no copay for……I’m sticking with my 780g and Medtronic Minimed. I would rather have a copay to have the piece of mind I have with this technology. Now if we could just get supplies considered a pharmacy benefit and not DME.
So far nothing different between me switching from omnipod and dexcom to this medtronic other than I don't have 4 hands to put on the sensor that sucks. Also the auto correction have not been any different than not having it. So what is the big deal? I am walking around annoyed by dragging a hose around and the insulin adjustment lol.
Yep, and the supposedly new Sensor 4 is new. BS! It's the Sensor 3 updated for no calibrations and so you can't extend the sensor past 7 days now. Putting the sensor on your arm, especially this contraption with the way that it's designed, is not good. I know, to each his own, but the design of it and how it's applied is the main problem with all the sensors failing. Obviously, I don't know everything, but I've been a T1 for 30yrs, pumped for 21yrs, been thru the Dexcoms and the Guardians, so I think I have some knowledge of how they work.
The Medtronic pump is the Tesla Truck of insulin pumps. It does great things, but it’s clunky and cumbersome. They still use throw-away batteries for the pump and throw-away batteries to charge the sensor. The pump is heavy; you can’t bolus from your phone; It’s not very discrete either. I had the 670g and that bulky sensor was a pain the but and very inaccurate. The Dexcom and Libra are much more discrete; easier to install and they’re more accurate.
Hi Martha, have you had a chance to talk this through with our 24-Hour Technical Support team yet? They'd like to help and can be reached at 800.646.4633 #1.
Hi, Mary. We're sorry to hear about this. Have you already had a chance to speak to our Technical Support team about this? If not, please give them a call at 1-800-646-4633, option #1. Thank you.
The Sensor 3&4 are junk. The 780g is a good pump, but needs the Simplera cgm to be used with it in order to be the best. The leader in pumps has fallen behind now.

Peel off the tape while the sensor is in the inserter, works heaps easier! 🤘
I am a type one diabetic and I just started my new pump with the guardian 4 sensor 3 days ago. So far so good.
Thanks for sharing, Justin, and welcome to the Medtronic Champion community!
My son just started this new pump 4 days ago. Thank you for showing how simple it is to disconnect and restart.
Crystal, that’s great to hear! If you need anything else, please let us know.
Literally just started this pump on Friday and I already feel less burdened.

Well this setup is still outdated compared to the competitors.

Not that reliable mine alarms and shows nothing on my pump or phone. But it is slightly better than 770g and guardian 3 almost put me in hospital😢
