I've seen this a few times in the 90s on Broadway and a few traveling casts. With that being said, this version of Morning of the Dragon is one of the best. Also, The Engineer is great. Love his performance.

Basically the sex workers, notably Gigi, have hopes that their GIs will save them and have a tragic bittersweet fantasy of being safe, whereas the updated lyrics seem grittier and more realistic. To me, I see it as vulnerable women desperately clinging to a fantasy for The Movie in my Mind, versus the same women having a realistic outlook and more survivor focused in the update.
I grew up with both The London Recording and The Complete Symphonic Recording. With that being said, I like the CSR better. The only thing that would it perfect is if they got Lea Salonga to perform as Kim.

When Kim and Ellen meet for the first time, in London the name of the song was called Her or Me. When it came to Broadway, they changed the song to Now That I've Seen Her. There's more but listen to the London Cast then The Complete Symphonic Recording. Lots of changes.

I've seen Miss Saigon 5 times. 3 with Lea, 1 with Lea's understudy, and this revival with Eva. My favorite show, but I absolutely hate the lyric changes. It ruins it for me. It was a good revival, but nothing can ever beat the original production with Lea Salonga and Jonathan Pryce. It was truly emotional and magical. My favorite aspect of the revival was Rachel Ann Go. Incredible.

Sun and moon is unchanged The Telephone song is the same but John now says “Saigon who*e” and after April moon “Are you f-ing high?” (Not a change but a detail I saw) Wedding Ceremony the Alternate Kim (in her Ensemble track) is seen praying on the altar but is shooed away when Kim and Chris arrived. (they used the new Vietnamese pronunciation) Last Night of the world Chris now sings “On the other side of the earth We can build a life that has worth” Kim and Engineer The blocking for the torture is simplified (the part where Kim is dragged to stage right is no longer there) The transition to If You Want to Die in Bed is a bit different with soldiers running flashing flashlights and one of them is the Engineer (he no longer kills a soldier to steal a uniform) His stash in the now abandoned dreamland is on a shelf behind the bar (I assume is not a change as it’s a touring production where there’s no trap door provision on the stage) Act 2 The way Bui Doi is pronounced is reworked and the vocals have been reworked too (I’ll send a link of Lewis Francis singing it) Bui Doi is no longer sung by John on a podium but Sitting down and getting up. The ensemble sing the first part offstage and gradually come on stage John now sings “Little ones from a land that’s torn” Too much for one heart the London Revival lyrics was used During the Fall of Saigon Chris yells Kim over the Fence and not as the chopper flies off (he still hangs as it rises but eventually enters) During confrontation the new line is “In Bangkok we will pay for his school” American Dream got a lot of changes (Depending if you’re seeing Seann Miley Moore) **Seann has a Wig in Act 2 which he removes during “Bald people think they’ll grow hair” The front ensemble crosses during the last phrase American Dream before Say can you see **During the Climax Seann strips his top to reveal a glittery corset as he sings “Say can you see land of the free”

- In the first line the GI’s sing “The boys are ready to screw”
- Chris sings “Waking up with some girl”
-The girls do their poses on a makeshift runway during the final chorus of The Heat is On

The rest of Dreamland is the same
There are few additional ensemble lines before Why God Why (Dreamland waiters saying cheers) and a few walking upstage
During the Interlude of Why God Why it was one of the waiters who begs Chris to give him a visa.
Sun and moon is unchanged
The Telephone song is the same but John now says “Saigon who*e” and after April moon “Are you f-ing high?”
(Not a change but a detail I saw) Wedding Ceremony the Alternate Kim (in her Ensemble track) is seen praying on the altar but is shooed away when Kim and Chris arrived. (they used the new Vietnamese pronunciation)

Chris now sings “On the other side of the earth We can build a life that has worth”

The blocking for the torture is simplified (the part where Kim is dragged to stage right is no longer there)
The transition to If You Want to Die in Bed is a bit different with soldiers running flashing flashlights and one of them is the Engineer (he no longer kills a soldier to steal a uniform)
His stash in the now abandoned dreamland is on a shelf behind the bar (I assume is not a change as it’s a touring production where there’s no trap door provision on the stage)
Act 2
The way Bui Doi is pronounced is reworked and the vocals have been reworked too (I’ll send a link of Lewis Francis singing it)
Bui Doi is no longer sung by John on a podium but Sitting down and getting up.
The ensemble sing the first part offstage and gradually come on stage
John now sings “Little ones from a land that’s torn”
Too much for one heart the London Revival lyrics was used
During the Fall of Saigon
Chris yells Kim over the Fence and not as the chopper flies off (he still hangs as it rises but eventually enters)
During confrontation the new line is “In Bangkok we will pay for his school”
American Dream got a lot of changes (Depending if you’re seeing Seann Miley Moore)
**Seann has a Wig in Act 2 which he removes during “Bald people think they’ll grow hair”
The front ensemble crosses during the last phrase American Dream before Say can you see
**During the Climax Seann strips his top to reveal a glittery corset as he sings “Say can you see land of the free”
**Seann has Costumes that are exclusively designed for him
I had Patrick Jeremy as the Engineer, he had the same costumes as Jon Jon

I'm Vietnamese but it is very hard for me to make out all the words. My guess is:
- Niềm vui vẻ = The happiness
- Chào đời/ngày mới = Welcoming new life/day
- Niềm vui vẻ = The happiness
- Yêu nhau mãi = Loving each other forever
I think it's about 80% correct.
Btw, those are the updated lyrics of 2017 Broadway Revival version. The original lyrics were:
- Dju vui vay = Chúc vui vẻ = Wishing you happiness
- Yu doi my = Yêu đời mãi = Loving life forever
- Dju vui vay = Chúc vui vẻ = Wishing you happiness
