It is amazing to see the M8's draw an ark from the third rail @ the 4:20 mark, because bottom contact third rail dosen't ark as much as top contact third rail.
Tomorrow the MTA is suspending service on the Hudson Line between Tarrytown and Irvington because they are dismantling a deck from the old Tappan Zee bridge. I'm letting you know so if you want to check it out you can
@Christopher Crepon Yes, but you do know that both the old and new bridges were above the Hudson Line, didn't you? I saw part of the bridge over the Hudson Line dismantled in November 2017. I kick myself to this day for not getting a picture of it.
5:12 M7 makes his appearance, 5:18 M3A appears. Announcer: Well folks there’s an M7 coming! Wait, what’s this? An M3A appears! It’s a race! It’s a race between two generations of metro north! M7: I am gonna win! M3A: No! I am! M7: No, I AM! M3A: I am! M7: New trains are better! M3A: Old ones get more attention! M7: Old is DUMB! M3A: New Is LAME! Announcer: IT LOOKS LIKE ITS GONNA BE CLOSE BUT THE M3A PULLS IT OFF AT THE LAST SECOND!!! The M3A wins! Hooray for the older generation! M3A: I told you older is better! M7: you haven’t seen the last of me Grandpa! As soon as I’m done picking up these passengers, i’m coming for you for a rematch!
Can you actually run a set of 10 car M7A trains towards Brewster North Southeast or not. the simple reason for this is that the M9s do take the same power output as M7A
No actually you don't. As I commuted for over 30 years from Rye to Grand Central Terminal because it's more than just train after train after train after train.
Well now it's 2021 and ridership has increased. Plus my city of Manhattan which everyone was telling me was dead has bounced back and even filming crews filming on location have returned.
Well I rode the New Haven line for 30 years to Grand Central Terminal there was plenty of room in the overpassage the depth perception is throwing you off.
Can someone please explain how me HOW THE HELL THEY DO THIS?! It’s incredible that they can have high speed trains running with less than a minute between each train without compromising safety! What type of signaling do they use on this system? Surely it’s not fixed block...?
How is the second train powered? I can't see any third rail pickup or catenary, so is it diesel or diesel-electric? What are the bulges on the coaches roofs?
This had to be the worse railroad in the country. Train breaks down, no announcement. Then have to wait for another train. And they block off the head car on a late crowded train, so there employees can have there own car to sit in. Now there is no social distancing because the tesin is too crowded, wat to go assholes....
_Amazing how you covered all of MNRR's motive power (East of Hudson) in one smooth, continuous take!_ Incredible work, Fanrailer.
Just got back from NYC. Was shocked to see the all of the rolling stock in a quadruple train meet.
How is there not a single second without a train in sight?! That’s amazing!!!! Excellent video!!!!
So much action in just eight minutes! Very good filming. Love these brilliantly designed M8 trains!
Looks like Metro-North has far better train frequency than the subway. Sometimes I had to wait 20 mins for a subway train!
Now that was interesting? I didn't know there were single non-control M8 cars? You can see in the the 5 car M8 around 4:40 mark.
Was that a car crash i jus heard at 1:25??
Wow great high def audio. I think you captured the sounds of a car collision @1:25 to 1:28 :)
LoL
Tanith Rosenbaum u herd that to 🤣🤣
Wow, clear as day. Somebody got a car crunch!
I was on that point LOL
Woah dude good ears! 😂
1:25 oooh, accident in the background

I like the sound of the m7 leaving and arriving
Same
Same
Hear the Toronto Rocket or 2009 Stock.
its the M7A not M7
JUST NON STOP...LOVE IT!!!
5:12 M7 makes his appearance, 5:18 M3A appears.

1:25 That sounded like a car about to crash
5:45 yes it stop ✋️
1:25 yup thats new york alright
the thumbnail is amazing
Nick Apples yes
Just notice the sparks created as the shoes leave the third rail of the north-bound trains!
5:33 AND WE HAVE A WINNER! M3 WINS BY A SPLIT-SECOND
The m3 only one because it didn't have a train stop
@LIRR Enthusiast No... they're both good for 100 mph.
5:32 two generations of Metro North beauties.
when the first train passed, the same exact one (not by number) passed my aparment
Nice one, just so happened I took a trip to Manhattan only the other day, I took the M8, It was great.
Why does the metro north and lirr look so similar
They are it's just that the LIRR and metro North go different directions
Because the lirr and mnrr use the same trains ( except for the m8 and the p32) and theyre both MTA
Jahmir Hamilton because the MNR almost has the same rail cars as the Lirr
They’re owned by the MTA. The MTA tends to buy a large amount of the same rail cars for both railroads at the same time.
Can you actually run a set of 10 car M7A trains towards Brewster North Southeast or not. the simple reason for this is that the M9s do take the same power output as M7A
5:10 it´s like a NASCAR finish line!
But there trains not race cars and looks like NASCAR trains.
Basically train after train after train after train after, well, you get the point.
No actually you don't. As I commuted for over 30 years from Rye to Grand Central Terminal because it's more than just train after train after train after train.
It is now 12/10/2020 in the heart of the Covid-19 pandemic and ridership on Metro-North and the LIRR has plummeted.
Well now it's 2021 and ridership has increased. Plus my city of Manhattan which everyone was telling me was dead has bounced back and even filming crews filming on location have returned.
Is it rare to see an M3 Nowadays? Or... Whatever that Classic Kawasaki Model is?
Lol the M3 and other Metropolitan train cars were built by Budd, I don't know where you got Kawasaki from.
The M8 Was built by Kawasaki. I think that was the reason. The M9 too
M3A train won against M7A
I wish they made an M9A car
@@nancyhernandez7833 they did make an M9 car. It was in passenger service on September 11 of this year, for some reason,
is that station in the Bronx
Mark Berge Yes
Along Webster Ave. & near Bedford Park Blvd. This is my Metro North Station.
Excellent video!
Anybody else find the sound of the train relaxing
Sounds like there was a little car accident on the street near the station at 1:24
5:20 RACE OF THE M7 VS M3
M3 won
simply amazing
I like the GE Genesis because it looks like the Amtrak and the LIRR
LIRR doesn’t use GE Genesises
@@Southbound_Buff, LIRR uses EMD DE30AC/DM30AC locomotives
Compared to the LIRR, the Metro North has small trains
Some of the stations, especially on the Harlem line, don't have much room for full-length trains
I don't think so too late for work
5:14 the old and the new
I have these AND many other NYC and State trains in TS 2020..
Is Connecticut gonna get any M9s?
IIRC they are purpose-built for the LIRR. Then again... M9A for Metro-North? Who knows.
It is very unlikely that the State of Conneticut would get M9/M9As as they lack pantographs to get past, say, Pelham.
There’s a single car in this m8 at 1:04
These transit trains are like Star Wars Vehicles.
Awesome Shots Great Vid!
what camear?
They barely make it through the overpasses, especially the one that's to your far left.
Well I rode the New Haven line for 30 years to Grand Central Terminal there was plenty of room in the overpassage the depth perception is throwing you off.
Nice job
I wish the MTA made an M9A and B car
Can someone please explain how me HOW THE HELL THEY DO THIS?! It’s incredible that they can have high speed trains running with less than a minute between each train without compromising safety! What type of signaling do they use on this system? Surely it’s not fixed block...?
Nice video!
I was on the school bus above the bridge
PurplePlays were you going to the Botanic gardens
Very cool!
How is the second train powered? I can't see any third rail pickup or catenary, so is it diesel or diesel-electric? What are the bulges on the coaches roofs?
It is a pantograph and it also has third rail shoe but it isn’t diesel
That is a great video
Nice thumbnail
I Love Metro-North Railroad ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great video Mike. Are you still using the Panasonic HC-V770 Camera and if so, what type microphone channel were you using?
Need to check lol
Fan Railer Lol gotcha!
Best moments of my life on M7 and I have taken that train to Botanical Garden 5:16
Great video however it seems a little dangerouse with so many trains moving a once
Having ridden from Rye to Grand Central Terminal over a 30-year period on the New Haven line Metro-North has a grip on safety
BTW awesome video!
Amazing 🤩
To make it better you got a diesel on top all that 😂😂😂
NJ Transit for life. NJ REPRESENT!
I'm sure there are videos about New Jersey Transit for you to go watch. Let me know if there's anyone on those videos saying Metro North for life!
So I don't see nor did anyone else say they heard a car crash at 1.25 how is that wow 😲😳 the humanity is just gone so sad 😭 I hope they where ok
Damn, talk about hand exercises.

Then get a car or call a cab to work
100 Metro north
non stop holy crap
