    Just picked this up today. May have bitten off more than I can chew but I love these cars. Just started back in kit building so wish me luck!

      @@whitelavarball awesome, enjoy! I might try my hand at the same kit now that I have a little more practice since I finished the first one.

    I’m just getting into model building and my parents got me this kit because they know how much I love the body style. I’m excited to get started!

    I worked on the real cars at Cutlass Assembly Center in Lansing MI 1978-1984. Mostly hanging/fitting the fenders, hoods, front end panel/fascia. Bring back memories! Gotta get this and the '83 H/O. I hired in at Oldsmobile in 1971.

    Bigger fan of the Buick GN and GNX, same body. They also nicknamed the Grand National as Darth Vader due to the color availability and it's own distinctive nose assembly. Can't wait to watch this build.

    I race an 84 Cutlass. Mine was the only year that a 305 Chevy engine was available. It was a V6 originally, but, I used the 305 for NHRA Stock class. This kit could be built as my car. Cool. I may look into that. I see there is an 83 kit as, well. Not much difference from 81-86.

    We had this kit in my store. It looked real good.

    After the build are the show car and stock options interchangeable?

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  6 років тому

      No, you will need to pick your build type before you glue it all up.

    Cool review.
    Is this a re-boxing of the Hurst Olds from last year with some extra parts?

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  7 років тому

      I think that would be correct, so they can get as many cars from one tool as possible. Nice kit to build from and have options with now.

      Agree. Can never have enough options. A 442 will build up sweet

      Chris, I saw your reply above about this kit being a limited edition kit and took your advice immediately and even got an extra one for a rainy day. Can not thank you enough.

    Do you not do videos of your Builds on all of these showing freezing for asking I was looking for the video on this bild

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  6 років тому +1

      I've done over 45 full build videos in 2018 alone.
      Some kits just get out of box part reviews. Depends on what I feel like doing.

    Great looking kit Chris. I wonder if it's about the same kit as the 1983 kit they came out with a couple months back? It does look nice...I'll probably have to have it as well. Thanks for sharing! Great video as usual.

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  7 років тому

      That's my guess, yes. the Hurst Olds came out last year, this looks very similar with the stock 442 and Show Car pieces.

    I wanted to like this but can't...despite tooling multiple noses, Revell copped out and didn't tool the actual original (and kinda awesome) nose of the FE3-X, just that of the clone car built by an enthusiast. Minor detail but one that kinda spoils the kit for me...
