Loved that car! My late old brother rip. did own two of those back in the 80s, he's where the sport version with bucket seats, not the hurst. But they looked great! I always love that style.
+hpiguy's Workshop oh for sure, Andy from Andyshobbyheadquarters he builds em step by step wich helps but you've always been the deal breaker kit reviewer for me, cheers
I remember this car well. I'd just gotten rid of my '82 Mustang GT 5.0 "Boss 302" and gotten some Japanese iron: an '83 Toyota Supra with that world-class inline six cylinder and 5-speed, but I test drove a couple of these Cutlasses just to see if that was the route I wanted to go. Naturally, the dealers where I was stationed at the time were trying to get over MSRP for them so I went Asian. ;-) The biggest attraction for me with the Olds was that Hurst shifter setup. I always wondered, though, just how many millions of Naugabirds gave up their hides to grace the Hurst Cutlass's seating surfaces. ;-)
Excellent, sir. I am a Grand National guy myself, then the later Monte Carlo SS bubble back with T-tops. I'd still build this as it's the last 442 with an eight cylinder. The next 442 was 4 cylinder, 4 valves per cylinder, 2 cam shafts (shudders)...what a perversion that was!
Great review as always Chris, reminds me a bit if the older monogram kits not quite as high a parts count as some of Revells kits, but that's not a bad thing when they have nailed the shape of it so well.
Boy it's been a long time since I have seen a good review and you are the king of reviews. Nicely done! I heard that the wheels have the red stripe already on them...I couldn't tell though. It would be nice. Great review as usual. Thanks for sharing...looks like a nice kit!
+hpiguy's Workshop Okie Dokie...I was thinking I heard that somewhere. Maybe it was another kit or something...I don't know. Life is going by way to fast this year it seems....Thanks again!!
This kit is $18 right now at my local Michael’s. It looks like the lower splitter can be cut off easily but the hood would need a lot of work if I wanted to make a stock Cutlass.
Awesome!!! I saw this in the store today and had to buy it. What took them so long? I have the Regal Grand National & Monte Carlo kits. All they need to do now is make a Grand Prix.
As I said earlier I bought this kit to build originally the version of the 85-86 Oldsmobile cutlass 442 i wanted to clone my buttercream yellow and the factory burgundy pillow top supreme brougham interior and the factory rear defrost delete clean window, and I would guess some people will come up with the stock type parts and probably wheels for these cars and my cutlass supreme had 88 Chevy Monte Carlo ss burgundy bucket seats.
Was it my imagination or were those tailpipes hollow? If so that is a cool piece of molding. I noticed that the front clip was on a separate sprue. It looks like other versions will follow. Another great review.
+Jon Serkspawn777 I hear you on the Ramcharger, can't wait. Too bad they likely won't repop the Ranger boat that went with it in the Gone Fishin set. But maybe we'll get lucky.
+hpiguy's Workshop They might as a separate kit. I've built the 65 Chevy step side with the Hemi Hydro ski boat set from the 90s. Those are both currently available as separate kits. Was this Olds originally a Monogram kit. My GNX is the old 1988 Monogram release, now it's a Revell.
+Mr. Hitdat71 This one I got from Tower Hobbies. I've been buying from them for 20+ years now and always have a good experience. I think it may have dropped a buck and is now $21.95 there.
5 hours? What? In what universe? Ha Maybe if you just glue it all together and don't paint anything and have 3 people helping you. I get it! The 5 hours represents how many hours at work you have to do in order to afford this model kit. Got it Revell! lol - Also, booo that it's not 1/24th scale.
Thanks for the review, I love Revell's cars and planes, very good details and extras in the kits and the best company to provide big decal sheets.
Loved that car! My late old brother rip. did own two of those back in the 80s, he's where the sport version with bucket seats, not the hurst. But they looked great! I always love that style.
I can't wait to get one of these kits. This was one of the first cars I liked when I was a kid in high school that wasn't a Mustang
+Dirk Pitt (The ADD Builder) Yes, the G body (I think I got that right) was a very very popular car.
just finished watching Andy's intro on this kit. this is much more in depth and what I was looking for. keep em comin, cheers
+Mad Cow Rebel Thank you for the nice words. Not sure who Andy is but we all do this for fun and have our own styles. Thanks for watching. :)
+hpiguy's Workshop oh for sure, Andy from Andyshobbyheadquarters he builds em step by step wich helps but you've always been the deal breaker kit reviewer for me, cheers
+Mad Cow Rebel Thanks man, very nice of you to let me know you enjoy it.
i been waiting on this kit to be released thanks for uploading
Good to hear from you again Chris! Great review and a cool looking kit.
+Michael Kovach Thanks Mike!

Excellent review. Added to my wishlist.
+Phil Freiberg Thanks!
Super cool kit! Thanks for the review. This one is on the list!!
+MindlessModelWorks Thanks for tuning in, much appreciated.

Was that the LumiCarloCutlass days?
Great review as always Chris, reminds me a bit if the older monogram kits not quite as high a parts count as some of Revells kits, but that's not a bad thing when they have nailed the shape of it so well.
+GaztheK's Modelworx Thanks for watching Gary! I bet you could make this into a fine replica.
Excellent review and kit! Thanks for sharing the good's!
+Cynthia White Thanks Cynthia!
Another excellent review from you. Thank you for posting your video(s)!
Thank you!

+mike breazeale Thanks Mike, no red stripes on the wheels. The pink hue is just my chubby face in the reflection.
+hpiguy's Workshop Okie Dokie...I was thinking I heard that somewhere. Maybe it was another kit or something...I don't know. Life is going by way to fast this year it seems....Thanks again!!
This looks like a really awesome kit, I'm hoping I'll able to find one of this kits. Great review
+Scott Goble Thanks Scott :)
Thanks for the very well done review. I have been wanting to get one of these kits. Looks like a good one.
+Rick Zinck Thanks for the nice words, I think it's a nice kit myself.
I've gotta get one of these! nice review as always
+Shannon Morrow Thanks Shannon.
Please do a build/review of this kit.
This kit is $18 right now at my local Michael’s. It looks like the lower splitter can be cut off easily but the hood would need a lot of work if I wanted to make a stock Cutlass.
Yep that's where I bought mine it was mismarked $12 .93 got it for $14.10 with tax
Ft Wayne Indiana.
Chevy Monte Carlo, the Buick Regal, and the 81-87 Pontiac Grand Prix there's been several NASCAR models on most of them except the cutlass..
Got to get one of these...I have a 2004 revell 69 camaro ss in the box still going to start building it soon.
Enjoy!
Please do a full build of this kit!!👍👍😸
I I had a Monte Carlo on Father's Day and I gave it to my dad same as act 1
So on the chrome tree what is part number 86? I have 13 hours in just paint before I started assembly.
Cool looking kit

I agree.
There's a Buick Grand National kit????
that is a pretty nice kit. thanks for the review
+Benny Gilardi Thanks for watching Benny!

+Dansmodelworx I'll double check when I get home on those tailpipes. Thanks for the kind words Dan!
Great review! Also I’m new to your channel and do you own a store that sells models or just build them and review them?
I just review them, no store. I recommend Modelroundup.com and autoworldstore.com for kits as they are current channel sponsors.
Ok thanks.
Insane to realize these cars are 40 years old. When I was a kid a 40 year old car was a Model A...
Looks like a nice kit. Alot like the GNX, and Monte.
Looking forward to the 1980 Dodge Ramcharger.
+Jon Serkspawn777 I hear you on the Ramcharger, can't wait. Too bad they likely won't repop the Ranger boat that went with it in the Gone Fishin set. But maybe we'll get lucky.

I've got two of the revell 1980 Dodge ramcharger model kits.. good kits 😀
Thanks again
i love it the olds and buick baby!
Cool!
One of the last!
If you don't mind, what's your online retailers name? Thanks
+Mr. Hitdat71 This one I got from Tower Hobbies. I've been buying from them for 20+ years now and always have a good experience. I think it may have dropped a buck and is now $21.95 there.
I have that one and I like the 80s cars it’s known as the g body I panted my olds black gold and silver
I blacked out mine, like a Buick GN.
i wish revell would put better tires in their kits other than that i love revell models
do you a 71 cuda revell street machine ?
I do not have that kit, sorry.
@@hpiguy okay
Sadly, two years later Revell in the US folded. I highly doubt Revell of Germany will offer a follow on to this kit. Good review.
nice car mate I will to cut of the roof make it in to a convertible
Kinda wish you could just build a straight Cutlass
Shame it couldn't be built as a base Cutlass
5 hours? What? In what universe? Ha Maybe if you just glue it all together and don't paint anything and have 3 people helping you. I get it! The 5 hours represents how many hours at work you have to do in order to afford this model kit. Got it Revell! lol - Also, booo that it's not 1/24th scale.
