I love seeing these types of journal set ups. Hoping to read more books next year so I'm easing myself in with a 2 page spread in my journal instead of a whole book. Maybe I'll dedicate one to it one day.
A good way to go with it 💪 it took me a looong time before I felt like I “read enough” to warrant starting a reading journal, but I also knew going in that this notebook is going to last me multiple years 😝💜
The stacked bingo board is such a great idea. While I didn't feel like I needed to separately record what books aligned with which boxes on my bingo board this year, I do think I will yoink this idea for next year! Definitely interested on hearing more about the readathon, too. I love the scrapbooky style you have going on in your reading journal. It's very much a huge vibe. 💜
Haha thanks! 💜 I save all my scrapbooky “energy” for this journal 😝 Yeah originally I didn’t think I really cared to have the names of the books with the bingo…but then I got forgetful 😂 Hoping this system works better 🤞
I make a several page layout of all the books i own with space to add more books and color in all the books ive read and then use a different color each new year to track books i read throughout the year. helps with i go to the bookstore to have every book so i dont get duplicates and its fun to see my library grow year after year. It currently stands at 1066 books!
Thank you VERY much for the simple bookshelf drawing! I wanted to include one in my 2024 setups but was totally apprehensive about drawing it. This is VERY approachable, and I just did my own in only 5 minutes 🙏
Oh yay! Most welcome 😄💜 while I do love the bookshelf layouts that are more elaborate, I super couldn’t be bothered doing that for this one 😝 plus, they always have way too many books compared to what I actually read 😂
I just love this journal design from A&O and I can't EVEN with that map #shutupandtakemymoney. You're encouraging me to read more this year. I really want to try your rating system reducing my arbitrary after reading glow.
I just decided to try doing a reading journal for 2024 so this was supremely helpful in figuring out where to start! Thanks! Also, as a painter, whenever I'm worried about a color pallette or color placement, I make a bunch of thumbnails of the line work and then just slap some colors down in different ways until I find something I like. Doing that in some white painters tape or writable washi tape make it great to just stick onto the final piece you're working with for a reference. I've done this with journal layouts too and it's kind of fun to have mini versions to add on as stickers to a blank space or to have as a reference in the back of my journal! Just wanted to share that idea after hearing you fight yourself on coloring something in and seeing you tear everything up ☺️
I love the neutral colours and the scrapbooking vibe of your reading setup! Kinda gives off the vibes of old times before television and people had libraries in their homes and just read! Definitely need more reading journal videos! ❤
taking notes on absolutely everything, i'm getting a fresh new journal for 2024 and it comes in this weekend! adore your spreads, will definitely be referencing a lot of them in my own bujo
For the shelfie, you could also do a bigger version for all books read over the years. Also the one for 2024, you could assign a colour for each star rating and colour them in that colour!
Your video made me decide to actually start a reading journal next year. I used to read a lot when I was younger and have been wanting to rebuild this habit. I think this journal will help me a lot, so thank you
I don't have a reading journal, just a reading page at the start of my journal every 6 months. I use the bookshelf style and for whatever reason it had literally never occurred to me to color in the back of my bookshelf. I love the look of it in mine so thanks for the idea!! It made my page more cozy and less modern.
I've just bought the reading map, and am going to use it as a reading challenge for 2025. I have a blackout journal so inverted the colours to make it white on black, and looking forward to getting my journal drafted!
I decided to create a reading journal back in November. I went ahead and planned for it to also include the 2024 year. I created mine after having some inspiration from your video of Monica's reading journal. I am not a math person so I decided to not include the statistics, even though I loved that part of her journal. But I find that my favorite thing so far is the colorful reading in pixels page.
I have a double page spread of bookshelves in my reading journal. I have a stencil for it, which helps. My shelves spread has room for 60 books, and this year I’ve had to create more shelves towards the back of my journal! 68 books so far with just over a fortnight of 2023 left.
The setup is beautiful. My brain says Q2 - bottom corner. With the library subscription box, I also wanted to start a reading journal for 2024. December i learnd about goodreads and storygraph. Storygraph has a lot of stat options you can track. Thanks again for sharing your reading journal setup. Please share more of Monica's journal for the next year😊
This setup is beautiful and it made me to finally took my scrapbook papers out of storage and look through them to maybe use in my 2024 reading journal. I got lots of ideas from your video (this 2-layer bingo is life changer!) and I can't wait to start planning my setup now. Hoping to change the style of recording/reviewing my books next year but I still have to think it through properly. Good luck with your 2024 reading goals!

Next year I want to finally try out new things in my journal (I re-use the same 3 spreads every month so it's kind of boring). I keep meaning to experiment more but I get so precious about it since it usually takes me 18 months to go through one journal and I don't want one bad spread to kill my joy. You should consider participating in G's (BookRoast) magical readathon! If my memory serves me well Monica participates in it (I seem to remember some spreads in her reading journal). You could pick a career that doesn't have a lot of books to read and you could work on the books not just during spring and autumn aquinoxes but throughout the whole year.
I toyed with joining it this year, even went through the picking-quiz and all that, AND started setting up a layout for it in my reading journal 😝 buuuut it didn't happen for me 😅 love the idea of it though! Just a cool way to do a reading challenge💪
Just discovered your channel looking for reading journal ideas and am loving your style! That map on the inside cover is awesome! ..and where did you get that library card pad in the book shelfie section? so many things I'm loving about this set up and your trackers!!!
Thanks, glad you liked the setup! 😄 The notepad was from an Archer & Olive subscription box, so is sadly no longer available. No idea what I'm going to do when I run out 😝
I always do the book shelf page for the books on my tbr that year, rather than all the books I read (it would annoy me if there were books left empty or I didn't have enough space for all the books at the end of the year, so it's the best way for me!) I colour mine by the main colour of the book
Love this, I'm so excited to set up my reading journal - for 2023 my reading related spreads were just a part of my regular bujo, but I loved that aspect so much I am doing a proper dedicated journal next year. The vintage vibe of yours is lovely!

Currently working on my fantasy map tracing into my journal, so it's nice to see your reading journal setup for 2024. The bingo layout is genius. I've been considering how I was going to track the reads in mine too. I'm in a B5 this year, so I think I'll be able to track under the board, but that's a genius move for people in an A5 wanting to maximise space. Also the head to head matrix is very smart and I can't wait to see how it works out for you.
Thanks Chelle! 💜 yeah the two-boards-on-one-page style would work well for a B5 💪 maybe one day I'll work myself up to a reading journal that's bigger than A5 😝
@@JashiiCorrin this is my first time using something other than an A5. To say I'm intimidated is an understatement. Just how are all the things I'm used to going to work on something larger 🤣🤣
Wow I’m impressed with this journal - I want to start a reading journal for my reading progress but wow I couldn’t do any of this the bookshelf you did was great
Most welcome! 😄 I’ve really enjoyed my modified version of the CAWPILE system; just works a little better for my brain 😝 aaand helps me not be so biased when I get to the end of the book 😂
I saw your prioritization matrix in another journal setup and decided to use it in my reading journal for 2024. I've used the regular book bracket every year I've done a reading journal and have never used it. I don't know why, but my brackets always come out looking wonky. They're a mess, so I don't use it at all. This year, I decided to do a bit of a test. I put my book bracket on one side. I used a setup that'll require me to print out the cover page and stick it in. And on the other side, I have the matrix setup. I'm hoping to figure out which setup I'm more inclined to use if they're next to each other. Seems redundant to have two setups that determine your favorite book of the year, but I'm hoping that by 2025, I'll have a clear favorite.
I totally understand that method 👏 heck yeah for journal experiments! 🥳 The thing about the book bracket that didn’t really appeal to me is that it really only gives you the top 1 book. Like what if January had 3 excellent reads that ~could~ have been the top 3 of the year, but only one gets allowed into the bracket!? 😭
I am also a slow reader, but I loved the bookshelf idea. I am going to include year read as part of the colour key so that I can fill 2024 with one colour or then move to a new colour for 2025 and so on.
hi Jashii, amazing set up and I love the map, immediately got the printable! :) Is there any chance we could get a version without the names on the map? I immediately got the idea of using it as part of an xmas card to my best friend and naming the various locations on the map after things she likes :) thanks for the wonderful setup as always!
If it were me, I’d put Q2 stats on the bottom left, because I tend to go down then across with my info like the pages of a book (or a Vogel weekly). However, I feel like you tend to go across then down when you do your spreads, and even mentioned if Vogel hadn’t specified otherwise that’s how you’d have set up his weeklies too, so I think putting the Q2 stats top right might make more sense for you. Love the setup, as always! Looking forward to the BBBC book club’s new year!
Yeah, it’s interested because I was kind of leaning towards the top right, not really thinking about the fact that’s it’s the way I very often would do it 😝 haha I did totally mention that in a Vogel setup video! 💜 Glad you’re looking forward to another year of book club 🥳
I don't have a reading journal because I don't read much, although I might try next year. Your videos (specialy the one showing Monica's reading journal) have awaken the goblin in me that loves to read and make journals 🤣 those layouts are too beautiful to not watch the video a couple of times. 21:58 I like titles on the top part of the page, my eyes don't see it if it is at the bottom.
please stop putting yourself down, you're good at scrapbooking it's you're style and that's all that matters. Wish I'd thought of the stacked bingo board. And, after hours of searching I think I've managed to find the pad of paper you've been using with the bingo boards so excited for it to arrive.
Oh nice! Sorry if I didn’t link that one 😝 I might have had the same trouble finding it (I lowkey just copied the equipment list from my 2023 setup, haha)
@@JashiiCorrinIt's fine, you'd said in your 2023 ReaJo set up that it was old from Spotlight which we don't have in the UK so I started searching. @JashiiCorrin
I bought your fantasy map - SO CUTE - to put at the front of my new (first ever!) reading journal. I chose the square bullet journal (8x8 I think) - which size of your files should I print to best fit that?
I don't read enough to have a dedicated journal but I do plan on taking some ideas from this for sure in my 2024 bujo. I am going to try to join the book club to get myself back into reading. I love to read but run out of time ❤
first of all, i absolutely love this! its so satisfying to watch and see it all come together, id absolutely love to fill this in!! second, dont you think it would be amazing if jess was called phoebe? she said her and her 2 friends, monica and rachel, made a book club. it would be like a friends reference haha
I don’t plan to have a separate notebook devoted to reading but I will have a spread a two so this gave a lot of inspiration. Sometimes I change the purpose of what your layouts are for to something more relevant to me. You have beautiful inspiration everywhere
Love it! I'm watching for a second time for inspiration for my reading journal. Where can I get the book bingo challenge printable? I don't see it in the Resource Library. Thanks!
I keep all of these supplies in the same place so grabbing them out from my stash is a little easier 😂 but the initial collecting of them when I first set up my reading journal was a lil bit of a mish. If you mean gathering supplies in the sense of purchasing them though, a good chuck of the stick-in-able items came in orders from Stationery Pal or Journalsay essentially at the same time which was nice 😊 Time taken to decide on the theme was less that it might usually be for my setups because I pretty much went into doing the reading journal knowing that I wanted to do the scrapbooky style because of FOMO from what I'd seen online 😝💜
You're really pushing me to the edge of jumping into the reading journal pool 😂 but I still need to mull it over... BTW I would put Q2 in the bottom left corner, so under Q1. Even though it's a double page spread I still see them as individual pages so it makes more sense to me to fill the pages in chronological order. I hope you get what I mean 😂
My goal is to read two books a month! I have a bookshelf in my journal that has books divided into two with things dividing the books that make it look like theres a bunch of little book stands on the shelf that represent each month
We don't have a setup video on the channel for Monica's journal, but we have two flip throughs 😊 2022: ua-cam.com/video/UAqx_l53YM0/v-deo.html 2023: ua-cam.com/video/sUtpMkp65pY/v-deo.html
Quite a lot 🤔 I kind of use them for office decoration with my journal rainbow 😝 At least over 130 (including used and unused; I don’t get rid of used notebooks)
lmao "bingo board" has lost all meaning to me 😂 I bow down to your voice-over skills, "bingo board" and "bujo buddies book club" would have me absolutely tongue tied 🏆🥇🌟
"I am a little prissy and that's fine." I felt this deep in my soul. :D

please stop putting yourself down, you're good at scrapbooking it's you're style and that's all that matters.
I love to read but run out of time ❤
We certainly have members who finish the books after the month has already passed if that helps! 💜
Hi Steve! Love your setup.
Steve says hi 😄💜 thanks!
Lovely video! Thinking of making my own journal now ❤
Gorgeous 😍 is there a flip through of your filled in 2023 reading journal?
There's going to be! That one will be out next week 😄💜
first of all, i absolutely love this! its so satisfying to watch and see it all come together, id absolutely love to fill this in!!
second, dont you think it would be amazing if jess was called phoebe? she said her and her 2 friends, monica and rachel, made a book club. it would be like a friends reference haha
Haha 😂 we've often said the same thing
💜 loved the setup!
Thanks! 😄💜 glad you liked it!
thats sooo pretty omg
Thanks! 😄💜 glad you liked it 🥰
I don’t plan to have a separate notebook devoted to reading but I will have a spread a two so this gave a lot of inspiration. Sometimes I change the purpose of what your layouts are for to something more relevant to me. You have beautiful inspiration everywhere
I’m super glad to hear that 😄💜 love it when people can adjust things they’ve seen on the channel to fit their needs 💪 thanks!
Love it! I'm watching for a second time for inspiration for my reading journal. Where can I get the book bingo challenge printable? I don't see it in the Resource Library. Thanks!
Should be in there under "2024 book bingo challenge"; just reuploaded it now! 💪
It’s beautiful!
Thanks! 😄💜
if i do a two page spread i normally would use the top right because i basically turn it into one page.
All of the archer and olive journal I seen when looking at the links are sold out. Wow!!
So inspiring! How much time do you spend deciding on a theme and gathering supplies? Thank you.
The speed with which I clicked this is insane 😵😵
Haha 😂 hope you enjoyed it! 💜
I haven't got a reading Journal.... thinking that I should get one. :D
It took me a really long time to finally set mine up, but now as I have one, I love it so much 😝
Love it.
Aww yay! 😄💜 Thanks!
I get what you mean! 😄💜
Q2 for top right!
I'd glad that someone likes the idea of the top right 😝💜
stunning 😍
Thanks! 😄💜
hey jess! i love this video! are you making a new setup for 2025? 🩷
Yup, will be! 💪💜
“I am a little bit prissy so it’s fine” 😂😂😂
😂 telling it like it is, haha 💜
My goal is to read two books a month! I have a bookshelf in my journal that has books divided into two with things dividing the books that make it look like theres a bunch of little book stands on the shelf that represent each month
Oh that’s a super cute way to do it! 😄💜
I love Steve!😂
He’s the best 😂
Hey girl, where did you get the paper pad you used for your reading goals and book club rules? Im not sure if I missed it in the description box!
That one was from the Archer & Olive subscription box from September 2023. Sadly sold out now! 😔💜
@@JashiiCorrin aww! Thanks so much for letting me know ❤️
Very nice video 😊
Thanks! 😄💜
I think q2 should be on the top right corner. My friend did it in my planer in the left corner and it looks wrong to me.
I’m leaning towards the top right, yeah 🤔
Bottom left for Q2
Seems to be the favourite option 😝 💜
21:59 Q2 on the bottom of the left 😅
Seems that’s the favourite from most people 😝💪
At approximately 2:15 of your video, you open a pad of paper. What is that pad called??
That one was from the Archer & Olive subscription box in September 2023 😊💜
at my library they just use a barcode system now to scan books in and out of accounts.
Awww that’s sad 😛 like fair, because it’s probably faster and more accurate or whatever, but I like the lil papers 😂
I miss the little papers too. 😭@@JashiiCorrin
Where can I find "Monica's " set up?
We don't have a setup video on the channel for Monica's journal, but we have two flip throughs 😊

@@JashiiCorrin Thank You.
How much journal do you have
Quite a lot 🤔 I kind of use them for office decoration with my journal rainbow 😝 At least over 130 (including used and unused; I don’t get rid of used notebooks)
at the 11th minute, the corners of the tape were not rounded off - a trigger for a perfectionist
Well lucky I rounded them off during the transition at 13:55 then 😅
@@JashiiCorrin 😄
❤❤❤❤❤
🥰💜
lmao "bingo board" has lost all meaning to me 😂
I bow down to your voice-over skills, "bingo board" and "bujo buddies book club" would have me absolutely tongue tied 🏆🥇🌟
Imagine if we had a bujo buddies book club bingo board 😂
goodreads winners are now just whose publisher can buy more bots....some really did not deserve to win like Hellbent
Interesting 🤔 hadn’t heard about bot purchases 👀
