I often get asked how I find retro games in the wild. TheBIGJB helps me run around the Seattle area looking for classic games and I offer some advice as well.
Oh man, that game gear in a zip storage case just sent me back to my childhood. I had that very case, and it was annoying as hell because I couldn't fit all my games in it, so they were always going missing.
I really enjoy watching your videos. It looks like you put a lot of time and effort into making the video so it actually feels like I'm watching a segment off a actual TV show or something. Keep up the great work!
Actually in GameStop, if you ask the clerk or cashier or whatever to see vintage games, they'll show you. Like they support the Atari 2600, NES, SNES, C64, and Sega Genesis.
They usually hide the more expensive NES, Sega Genesis, and Atari 2600 consoles and games in the service room. But they hide the Commodore 64 games, N64 console and games, and the SNES console and games out in plain sight. Even though it's hard to see them. They blend in quite well with GameStop's wallpaper. And I only know this because my older brother used to work there and I got to see all of them!
Another top video MJR. Nice to see around US based stores, we don't have a lot of that in the UK. There are plenty of cheapy stores but most just focus on PS1-PS2 stuff.
When I was a kid Ecco the Dolphin scared me...I'm not sure why. lol. MetalJesus, this video was awesome! Keep on pumping out the genuine entertainment! You deserve every subscriber and I know there are thousands to come!
@MrBeJeCa95 - Thanks! I think I'm going for a mix of Reviews and the Video Gamer Lifestyle with my channel. One thing is for sure, I'd like to have more of my friends on it! Thanks for the feedback!
Menacer you use with the shoulder light gun. Robocop versus The Terminator is actually a bad ass game. Very good video, lol I do the same things when I go out. The hunt itself is alot of fun, especially when you find a real gem. Kinda like a scavenger hunt. Peace bro, and happy gaming.
@MAMECADE - Thanks! It's fun for me to take the video camera out of the Man Cave a bit... and I like including my fellow gamer friends on the channel as well.
@paradisewaster - LOL Awesome questions: I have an older CRT TV in the Man Cave that I use for my early 80's consoles. The last time I went to Europe on a 6 country tour was in 2008, and I LOVED IT! As for the cheapest console, those are the common ones like the Atari 2600, or PS1, etc. Sometimes for as little as $5 at Pawn/Thrift shops.
I thought I was the only one the read Baldurs Gate II. I also recommend reading the first one, Planescape Torment and Pool of Radiance. Pool of Radiance came with the game and a Music CD. Nice quick reads.
Love these old MJR videos. Just started following you about 4 months ago and love the videos. One question, where do you find video games at goodwill? Every time I go in, I never find not one game. Does goodwill sell games like this anymore in 2017?
agreed - no awesome gaming expos....or any cool "yard sales"....nothing....just scalperville, aka ebay where everything old skool gaming is like 900x the price. sucks.
iTech Scotland why don't a bunch of you guys get together and start one? That's how a lot of them got started over here, just people who love gaming trying to get the community together
Video turned out great! Had a great time hanging with you, man! We'll have to do some more together! Maybe a hunt down here during Garage Sale season. Get your hunting gear on! ;)
5:50 Menacer definitely does NOT suck. It's one of the only light-gun games on the Genesis and it's the best one by far, lot's of people play and love Menacer. I know how much you like light-gun games too, if you find a working controller and TV, please give it a try!
Dude you are the best but here is a suggestion on making your videos please, please make a video about everything you have from your dream cast to your mac;)
Jesus, what 7 years of technology does to game hunting. "I use google maps" brings out ten pages of print outs... 'And i use an ipod to figure out what I need" omggg
that goodwill was stocked with games.almos every game i find i have go in and clean and sometimes fix. they look like they were pooped out by cloverfield.
What the hell? I visit pawn shops, Goodwill's, Thrift Stores, and all that jazz ALL THE TIME, and I NEVER find anything remotely as cool as a complete Dreamcast console, let alone a stack of assorted games in general lol. Los Angeles resident, here...
im sure you found out metal jesus... but... menacer is a genesis cart that only works with the "menacer" genesis light gun. :p cheers I cant believe I've been subbed to you for like 7-8 years now
fff....I'v been to every single one of those places (except the browser's books) and I'v never found anything like what you find. I will have to say that pawn shop is one of the best places to go, some of the prices are overpriced of course but the lesser known titles can usually be snagged for cheap.
I had Echo the Dolphin on the Game Gear when I was a kid. I could never get past the first level, because another dolphin wanted a fish to move out of my way. I couldn't figure out how to not eat the fish myself. That game was a big reason I took a break from gaming until I became an adult. Frustrating!
Man... time flies!
Every episode is a very special episode.
Oh man, that game gear in a zip storage case just sent me back to my childhood. I had that very case, and it was annoying as hell because I couldn't fit all my games in it, so they were always going missing.
Best content now best content over a decade ago. One of the best in the gaming community
THis is an OLD video…and you found it! Thanks for watching. 😜
Damn I was still in high school when u filmed this! Glad to see you’re still going strong after all these years
Oldie but goody my friend!
Damn dude Roadblasters for sega genesis. When he mentioned that I was thinking about how much I loved that game
I really enjoy watching your videos. It looks like you put a lot of time and effort into making the video so it actually feels like I'm watching a segment off a actual TV show or something. Keep up the great work!
Very cool concept. Your last two vids have been a pleasure and refreshing to watch. Like a spring shower of retro games. Thanks for the tour.
they spent more at McDonalds :'(
6:17, i am just blown away. just so many games, and the gameboys just brought a smile to my face
MetalJesus is THE most helpful retro game resource I've encountered. Thanks, bro!

@MrBeJeCa95 - Thanks! I think I'm going for a mix of Reviews and the Video Gamer Lifestyle with my channel. One thing is for sure, I'd like to have more of my friends on it! Thanks for the feedback!

I would love more of these.

Really glad to see some Seattle area retro hunting. This place is some of the best and worst retro hunting in existence haha. Keep up the good work!
I hear you on that $5.00 price tag. What is so magical about that price? That was nice of your friend to give you those free games. Rock on.
Robocop vs. Terminator was awesome on the Sega! I hope you got a chance to play it MJ.
I love that you live in my area I am familiar with all these places:)
the Uk has nothing like this
yep it sucks all the charity shops in my area suck ass and Craigslist UK also sucks ass
I totally agree

Ecco the Dolphin is fun, but it is quite challenging.

25 bucks for a Game Gear and a load of games? Wow.

How do you know the games you buy aren't broken before you play them at home?
Oh you worked at seirra that's cool you barely ever mention it
So u like Shadows of ahm too, It's my favorite too.
Have you figured out yet that "Menacer" requires the Menacer light gun haha
