turbo flutter is one of the best sounds
Bad for the turbo isn't it? It's shaft play if I remember hearing right but I've never owned a performance car.
@@eagleone5456o, it's just the turbo cutting the air. It's harmless when you let off the throttle. What damages engines is turbo surge it's the same sound but it occurs when you floor it but the air can't get through the engines and high pressure comes back to the turbo
@@Sidewaystianfact’s. I’ve broken a a few blades on a turbo because of this.
No gearbox whine is
The overheating oil warning is one of the worst sound
That's how engine should sounds like❤ no shitty pops and bangs, just pure mechanical noise! Awesome
@@MrsAnnaPleasure69 sorry for you
@@MrsAnnaPleasure69lmao
I do not feel it….. Nice warning sound as well 🙈
Yeah, children or teens like pops and bangs. Not so much adults.
@@MrsAnnaPleasure69 sorry to disappoint :)
One of the better JDM classics I’ve seen on the channel. Super clean and tastefully modded.
best*
for me the best is R32❤😂
@@alpe6228 It's a nice car, but how is it the best? The car was constantly overheating.
@@mikeincanada_exactly don’t get me wrong I love gtr’s but something is wrong with this one maybe needs bigger inter cooler just maybe 🤷♂️
@@hardscope7744 I owned a R32 with a single turbo conversion. It was running a T4 Borg Warner. The first thing that was upgraded on that car was the radiator. This thing needs a thick rad upgrade with a shroud and a quality electric fan for when it's stuck in traffic.
Thank you for the lap Misha, couldn't ask for anyone better to run it round the ring for the first time.
@@wyattoutlaw2370hilarious to see UA-cam comment section, back seat mechanics. Thanks for giving me something to laugh at 😅
@@Emira_75 back seat mechanic? tf 🤣🤣🤣
I bought mine with the hks oil cooler. Never any overheating issues. Recommended 👍 how much were the headlights 😅
Where did you get your oil catch tank? Needing a nice one like that myself
If you haven't already, invest in a heat sleeve or some kind of heat management around your turbo. And having the intake inside the engine bay is gonna be sucking in hot air, you may want to extend it and accept ram air coming in from the front and wall it off from the engine bay air.
Misha is such a good driver that he can hit the gas, brake, clutch, and GoPro all at the same time.
😂
Nice. Great sound. Would love to see this again with the Öhlins, maybe semis, and temps resolved.
We got a time traveler, nice R33
@@EliudOnofre-pe3oz He's a member and gets acces to the video before we do.
Hey Misha I had some advice on how to improve this car on the track. First, I think you should go with a spoon engine. If you combine the Spoon engine with a t66 turbo, with NOS, and a Motec system exhaust, it will be ready.
Thanks Hector!
@@mgcharoudinno problem Brian. I have 3 cars running this setup so I’m quite experienced.

Better put that SR20 in your Honda first i heard they pull a premium this close to race wars.
The grey Alpine in the video was me…when the +700hp and turbo boost kicked in, the GTR just flew away from me 🚀
It looked like you had him in the 0-200kmh range. Those upshifts look super slowon the gtr.
never 700+hp ;-)
@@DaEVOthefreak That's what the owner in the video says ;)
Big props to the owner for keeping the build clean and tasteful, instead of going for maximum 'omg wow' visual overkill.
The R33 GT-R was the first production car to lap the Nurburgring in under 8 mins once upon a time 🤫
And was “regulated” to the agreement and still not pushed
poor mans r34
@@alanmaclean8159better gtr
@@alanmaclean8159 lucky poor man
Beautiful car and engine (though slightly laggy) such a shame it’s another car suffering from oils temps. If you are going to track your car - any car - you must improve oil cooling.
Not every track is so hard for an engine..
@@FahrenheitRUS if your going so far with any car, a simple oil cooler should be a nobrainer, oil keeps ur engine alive, keep it "cool"...
@@Kev-E46 Especially in an RB26 which are notorious for oil temp, pressure and drain issues.
@@Kev-E46 nine times out of ten it's fairly obvious issues that lead to high oil temps. Even after an oil cooler you can face them. A lot of people fail to consider about airflow and undertrays.
It's not a track car... At least that is what the owner said at the beginning
Really nice to see one on the track !
Had a r33 gts-t a few years back built engine big turbo.. extended oil sump (11 Liters) 4L oil catch can... I hope this dude checked his Catch tank after a lap this long 😉 Whith out an oil cooler aswell and a new built engine 😢
But a Joy to se it on track !!
Very tidy setup! I have 2 G35-1050s on my R35 and a G42-1200 on my 370Z. These turbos make jam.
...can I be your friend?
Looking forward to my G37 getting a proper tune from you guys one day
How’s the turbo lag on the r35? Since it uses the same turbos as this car in the video
@@alloush5995 they’re pretty lazy but the car makes 1500whp+ so it comes with the territory I guess.
What a great owner. Explain what he knew, what he didn't, what kind of driving he wanted done and then didn't complain the whole time 👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏
To think that back in the day it did just under 8 minutes in the Nürburgring is just amazing. R33 doesn’t get as much love as it deserves.
Nothing better than a straight six RB engine
Absolutely glorious sounding engine!
The car do 270km like nothing!! Awesome build...
Get an oil cooler on that and you'll be good to go. I've got HKS on mine and it works fabulously. Great sounding 33. Congrats to the owner on the fresh build!
That stutututu and meeting that Supra on the track is off the charts. ❤
Unequivocally right!!!
You are living a dream man! Congrats and wish you more interesting cars to come.
Hi Misha. Thanks for all of your videos. Amazing and unique cars on your channel.
Best wishes Chris
That magnificient engine and turbo sound.... and that instrumental cluster give me adrenaline like its going
These last couple vids with temp issues show just how different track use is vs street. I've often said 20 min on track can be harder on a car than 10k miles on the street.
Really sick tasteful clean build, loved hearing it! Hope to see it again maybe next year with better temps management, track rubber and new suspensions to see what it can do on the edge!
Misha is changing up gears at 8,000rpm at the owners request but you can just see the car starts to really really pull for that last 1000rpm the few times he goes into it. :)
Yeah holy crap it’s like he ran over a Mario mushroom above 8k.
and the car dont have 600+ HP
@@DaEVOthefreak it must be in low boost setting, as it's bedding in. Mine is cca 620hp @ 1.7 bar, and faster than this.
Yea it's not boosting. I've had RB25 boosting harder than this
270 at schwedenkruez pretty damn good for an older car.
Its insane how much better the RBs sound with a single turbo... wish i had the money to build mine like that :3
Twins with a equal length front pipe and titanium exhaust is more crazy 😅
@@James__R33 nahh
That Turbo Flutter is addictive. Overall tone is awesome
I remember an interview with Mark Skaif, where he explained how much work they had to do on the car to stop the manifolds from melting and sagging.
Gibson Motorsport played a huge part in the success of the GTR.
The difference between a car that can take one hot lap and 24 hours of endurance racing is enormous. That's one aspect that people forget.
I think at that power level you should really switch to E85 if possible, better cooling properties as well"
Nice drive. Driven an R33 before and it's my favorite model. Its the longest of the bunch so it handle bumps very well.
To the owner, the Ohlins coilsovers are a great choice. Hope you upgrade the oil cooler some more. Love the car. My spec as well, except the wheels. BBS LMs for the win lol.
I’ve ridden in an R32 and an R33, and the R33 felt more like a touring car. I prefer the R32 (Godzilla!) but the R33 feels much more refined. Might have been a case of the individual builds but I can’t say for sure, I was lucky just to get a ride to begin with.
@@schakalicious6023 Absolutely!
U get to drive the coolest cars in the world man... car sounds amazing..
Could do with a bit of a smaller turbo and stil make the same bhp tho but less laggy.. and more power in lower rpms.. g35-900 for example
Free those dolphins 🐬!
I just gotta say, it's one of my dreams to go on this track, and I think I would want you to be the driver for my first ride along. Just so enjoyable to watch you. Also BIG congrats on your new team. I have been watching for a while and I knew it was only a matter of time seeing your skill. Cheers!
loving this recent JDM run youve been doing Misha!
Loving the GTR content lately keep it coming Misha!
I'm happy to see the stock dials! Nice build and drive!
Lovely car, sound, built, wasn't turned up, fair play new build!
But, why oh why that spec and no oil cooler🤦🏼♂️ is beyond me!! Engine builder/tuner should have known!
Great sound and I was impressed how fast it went. Didn't seem to go fast just by listening to the engine untill you look up at the speedo. Really nice car!
Great car. Only problem is the g35 1050 on this setup seems quite laggy and you can see that when Misha is flooring it, nothing is really happening. Seems like the powerband is similar to NA car where power is linear and up at the top rpm range. Usually on these gtr's with anything higher than 600hp, it gets on boost crazily and the speedometer rapidly increases. This specific car the speedometer even under full throttle goes up so slowly. Was it running on the 730hp map for this vid, seems like it was running around 550-600hp crank. You said you don't bother with reaching 900hp which is what this turbo can do so I recommend then swapping out to a smaller turbo which can achieve the same 730hp but with much better spool. Also with the amount of money spent on this car, an oil cooler is a must!
Smaller exhaust side on the turbo or increase capacity to rb30 or higher. In the end you'll get better drivability too and boost will come on sooner and harder depending on tune.
@@Kiwi_Bayer just found it it was running low boost at 600hp. Still was expecting bit more but I guess this turbo at 600hp must be on very low psi which explains why it is the way it is.
I agree - i'm running a twin GT2865R setup on mine about 550HP, same gearbox and setup at this car and it accelerates much harder through the rev ranges than what I saw here.
Even on the street you can see the need for an oil cooler. On a hot day driving gently the oil temps will still go up to 100C quite easily.
You can tell it needs to be revved out to over 9 instead of 8
I can listen to this engine whole day. What a magnificent car.
I know everyone already mentioned the flutter, but it's glorious. Great sound reminds me a bit of some versions of the Porsche 962
One of the best drives in 2023 so far
what a nice build! bravo. a dream for so many children/grownups! GT-R with that great turbosound
10:03 that line was so clean it made me so happy to watch. Amazing video!!
Majestic. Flutter sound is insane 🐬
I was once lucky enough to have a similar to this, silver r33 gtr with link g1, turbonetics t60/01 front mount, scresmer etc. Shit it was freaky. 730nm torque. It made me feel sick witu the gs.
i love the Hakosuka. such an amazing car even today. an Australian channel, "The Skid Factory", did a very tasteful (well in my opinion) build called "Hulkosuka. might not be to some peoples taste but it involves big blocks, blowers and ingenuity galore. cheers from Australia.
Definitely making all the right sounds! Awesome to see.
13:30 This is every morning for me.......... Im flying around the Nur with Misha, then all of the sudden.... BEEP BEEP BEEP my alarm clock goes off LOL
Yes! I specifically searched for an R33. The R33 Skyline is my favorite GT-R and Japanese car.
❤ YOUR WISH TO DRIVE A HAKO. Thank you for showing love to a vintage chassis. 18 years of daily driving a sub 2100lb (950kilo) Datsun 510s has really taught me how priceless weight is in search of speed. I get in anything modern and just cant get over the feeling of mass in cornering... I am amazed at how "capable" a 50 year old chassis is with under 150hp compared to a modern car with 2x the power. Of all skylines - the Hakosuka is by far the one i would want first.
Great content as always thanks to the owner and Misha for sharing.
the R33 is my dream car. This video was amazing to watch!
old but gold more of these Mischa 😍😍😍💪💪💪 just check the passenger doors it did look like there were dissasemblying
I always have to laugh when he starts whistling as soon as warning lights comes on🤣
love the left foot brake action!
Hello R33 brother 💯🤟🏾 nice driving and great build. Greetings from Okinawa Japan
Cool dude and a great car!
Thanks for everything, Misha. 👌😎🇦🇺
Awesome car and lap guys 🔥🏁👌
First of all..nice Footwork, enjoy it as long as the camera worked ;-)
That Car sound soooo awesome, really love it.
If i was the Passenger i dont think i could sit there chilled like he did xD
Great engine setup. These cars are very big, though. Matey was having the time of his life but half way through the lap I get the impression it’s quite understeery looking at our favourite Ring pilot. May well be the tyres
Ya called the oil cooler... Great car ! Bet it was hard too lift though. Loved the show keep up the great work 👍
Don't think many people's cars are ready for Misha 😛 Turbo Flutter for days, what a ride!😎
Hi Misha. Wow I really appreciate you driving skills , and driving these beautiful machines the way that they were meant to be driven. I can only dream of driving one these.❤
gorgeous car, good build. Owner is a lucky dude to get one of this
I just stop playing the video when the warning beep comes to tell me the meaning of the video title.. but great driving by Misha as always.. thank you!!
Amazing! Goes well. Curious why all that power and still stock rad though. Stock rad not going to help with the oil temps either
Such a cool car, very clean too!
Damn i just found this channel and am hooked!!!! Its such a great idea for a UA-cam series for a professional to drive random viewers cars around the ring at full tilt 👍🏻. So every new video you dont know if its going to be a R33 or a SF90!!! Amazing Idea.... I can see a TV Show in the near future for sure... But dont do it!!! Its pure honest entertainment the way it is.
Look for the french fiesta st ….one of the standout laps 👍
Самый эмоциональный и передающий дух jdm авто 90х проезд, который у Вас видел, Михаил. Причем на не самом эмоциональном внешне 33м поколении. Хозяину авто огромный респект за настройку авто👏👏👏
The button where the turbo timer is was for the extendable antenna mast (remember those) most of which died to a car wash (like mine)
Get a custom rad made with oil cooler built in so water cooled rather than air and far better if core is made in copper as copper is twice as conductive as Aluminium oddly in heat and electrically! plus intercoolers are far more stable with water to air than air to air.
Best method on those engines are electric oil and water pumps less drag on crankshaft front end gears. turn key oil and water is circulating pull up turn engine off and oil and water is still circulating = Engine safety/Better mpg and turbo loving it.
Spettacolo puro Sound da paura💪💪
Car looks and sounds awesome. 118°c isn't that high for an oil temp unless it's set low cos the engines quite new?
on my 240z l28et i run the oil temp to 260 to 270f with vr1 20w50 and have never had an issue. oil pressure would drop maybe 5 to 8 psi but my coolant temp would stay around 175 to 185f. the r33 was still making good oil pressure it only went down like .2ish bar.
Awesome car, sounds fantastic. I have to say though I don’t think it quite has the claimed power, I would expect it to go a bit harder than that with the high 600 or low 700s. Also surprised that with modern turbo choice and a stroker the thing is so laggy.
Sounds amazing 👏
Is that rpm counter stock? That's a high revving engine
Great video! I'm a boat owner myself. External oil cooler definitely needed. Maybe a better blow-off to cut down on flutter? Would a smaller EX housing be a better proposition? No boost gauge in the video makes it hard to see the boost curve. How much oil was in the catch can?
The lag is ridiculous it didnt even start making boost under 5k rpm. Terrible build.
amazing turbo sounds!!!!!🥰🥰🥰
Misha is the goat! Love this channel
Love that car it sounds so amazing 🤩
Love this turbo flutter sound so much
GTR 33 JDM spec is around 2 tons. That’s probably why they call it the boat. Love the content and the driving. Amazing car ❤️
The R33 just looks the best of all the GTR's love it
A R32 would be nice in the wake of these, and a R35 :D Lovely vid, and a fun reminder that even quite specced up perfomance cars can start to complain on a long track :D
Oh baby a triple!
Loving the JDM stuff.
11:43, Nismo pillar guard bout to fly off! I've never taken mine off so I don't know how you secure them maybe more glue?
Finally R33 gtr have been waiting for one thumbs up👍
f'n eargasm!
it sounds so good!!
When the passenger has time to style swipe his hair, on a track with 700plus bhp, and a big grin....They didn't 👑 crown the SKYLINE for no reason.. ❤
Properly build r33! I tip my hat to this fine sir!
Misha, I find it curious that there are some British cars (most) with excellent preparations that you put on and that you made a easie lap, most of them and sometimes, the vehicles have breakdowns, or end up stopping.... they have great preparation mods but they break down almost all
I had a ride in a 700hp R32 recently. It seemed waaay faster than this one, smoking semi slicks at 180kmh. I think he had boost turned down.
the r32 is lighter.
Thanks for the video and the sutututu is just amazing 😂😍
Dragging past 200 like butter.. The horses are crazy!
Just amazing how the motor wants to rev over 8k with no stress :D
the beep , is the converter temp sensor, it just was warning you the catalytic converter was overheating . it shouldn't have had any effect on anything ecu wise.
great lap! too bad about the high oil temps, i would love to see what that thing could do flat out, with an extra oil cooler.
Couldn't concentrate watching the lap whilst also listening to those turbo sounds 😅
