I have purchased a cercis " Carolina sweetheart" I vevin a windy area where I have little shelter. Last year I placed it out in the front garden in a container to see how it got on before planting it the leaves are very thin and I found after a bit of wind buffeting the leaves looked poor so now I'm worried it will not be happy if I plant it so it's still in its container.

Hello Alistair - thank you for your enquiry and for watching our video 💚 Cercis are not a tree for a windy position as they tend to break in the wind I am visiting a national collection holder later on this week and will put your points to him and get back to you All the best John

Cercis canadensis not much info on propergating this tree as they are very expensive to buy. I'm guessing that licensing issues come into play. You were cutting off plenty of material to propergating.
