I was in 6th grade when I first saw your videos. Im 26 now, I have a fiancée, I learned another language. Every so often I come back to this channel to see the family I watched grow, watched Loki and Sparta, I remember when you and Kristen had your first date and meeting Penny. In the back of my mind I've always felt like I wanted to be the kinda person you would be proud of. Watching you be so vulnerable and openly emotional as a man, being able to communicate so well and never being afraid to have feelings and be unapologetically excited. You're a great example of a life well lived, and one I still aspire to make proud.

Cory you have always been my favorite UA-cam content creator. I survived cancer from 2019 & 2020 and recently survived a serious heart issue. I’m only in my 50s but have been through so much in my life. While recovering from cancer, I started a small UA-cam channel. I only have 1050 subs now and have yet to see my first check. I got monetized on 3/29/24. I think my account earnings is up to like $20, lol. I didn’t do it for the money. I just wanted to do it for myself. You inspired me to just do it. By the way, I still have a color photo of Sparta on my wall, signed by you. I also have your Mean Kitty signed book. I miss seeing your videos.

Sorry about Grandpa Keith. You are correct. Kindness and compassionate understanding, self-care, and happiness are maybe the most important things in life. We all will experience our own mistakes, hard times, and grief. Some of us will not be able to bear it. That will be, perhaps more than difficult, but there is joy, and joy in giving, and in receiving. You were one of the first people I subscribed to because I wanted to find a few people from around the world (including my part of it), to learn what others were doing with and in their lives. Wish I was seeing more of you and of Kristen, but you have "your thing" to do.
That's from me, age 75, just retired this year. Following your life and your family, since I think, just when "Hella Good..." began. Thanks.

I watched SMPFilms since I was a kid. I remember seeing the upload "Damn, I'm getting old" when it first came out. You were about to turn 30 that time....Now I reached that age, about to turn 30 and man, rewatching that video...i dont know how to describe it but what I get out of the video and how I feel watching it now is so different than that teenage boy who watched it many years ago.
I'm so thankful and grateful to get to have watched you. From the films, sketches, vlogs, dares and challenges, your content has really shaped me into the person I am today. Your inspiration motivated me to go to film school during College years. And recently I started a Influencer Managing job. Now I'm in a position where I'm working with social media talent and I'm thinking "man its like in a way I achieved my goal to be a youtuber just like those OG youtubers. I mean its not the same world like it was back then, but I'm finally in that social media bubble." I think back like damn, my life really started because I watched a dude make videos of his cats. (Really though, it was the smashing clocks video that lit a fire under my ass).
It is so nostalgic and meloncholic to see these updates and to visibly visualize see how someone can grow, time can pass and life can change. Your videos are like a virtual archive of a 2000s UA-camrs life; a case study of a creators change from persona to authentic person and it is truly a beautiful gift for us to be active spectators in your story. So thank you for that.
And finally, I wanna say, I am a SMPFilm fan through and through. I have so many memories in the back corners of my brain of watching your content. I remember all sorts of moments from (DLH or LED or MeanKitty or SMPFilms) that I can recall vividly. The one that has really stuck with me the most and has become quite a motto of my life is "Nothing is for sure".

You've always been super motivational, and helping people to try to find the positives in their own lives and I've always appreciated that about you. Hard to believe you're coming up on 20 years on UA-cam. I actually created my account in March of 2006 specifically to follow you, but actually I had been following you on MySpace and Newgrounds slightly before that, so as of a little over 2 months ago, I've been following you for 18 years. What you said about the fear of getting older resonated with me. I'm 38, and I haven't gotten over that fear yet, but listening to you is helping me find the motivation to work on myself and get myself to a place where I'm happy with my life, so that I too will no longer fear getting older.
I feel like you're pretty lucky to have recorded so much of the last almost 20 years of your life. And I hope you continue to do so, at least for moments you want to remember, not to share with the internet, but just for yourself and for your kids. So that when you do get old, you'll have all those important moments recorded so you can look back on them.

I lost track of you since a while, because life reasons but it was nice seeing you pop back up in my feed and although you have changed, or better yet grown as a person, you still have those same beautiful vibes you've always had. In all the algorythmically created content mush we get served so much these days it's so refreshing to see you being your genuine self.
I'm nearing my forties and I too am steadily learning to find appreciation in being older. As entities of the universe, we need to constantly change to keep up with the times, but at the same time we also need to discover and preserve that inner core self that makes us into who we are.
Thanks for the update! Keep being and finding yourself, take care of yourself and those around you and enjoy being old.
And since you do care: I 100% approve of this video ;)

My father in law is 62. He had his stomach removed due to cancer and he's still taking mild chemo treatment bi-weekly. And only after all of these things I was barely able to catch up with him while skiing. And I'm 29:) He's still skiing, riding motorcycles with his son. He had to stop working due to cancer but instead of feeling sad he started spending more time with his grandkids, he took up gardening. I hope to someday be as cool as him and not give up in the face of challenges.

May Grandpa Keith rest in forever peace. It's an amazing life's journey to have become a Centenarian before ascending to the heavens. I've followed you for a very long time and still find myself missing Sparta and Loki, and remembering your affinity for Portal and that somber moment when you found out Nathan passed while in Australia. From California to Alaska and then lastly Oklahoma it's been an adventure watching you grow through ups and downs and everything in-between. You and Kristen have raised a wonderful family! Self-discovery is hard. Especially that internal vs external validation and approval. The journey you talk about here is one that I have struggled with. I am an introvert with ADHD and other physical and mental health issues . Seeing you highlight your struggles and growth is a huge help and inspiration to know that it is ok to be different and your past doesn't have to define your future. Keep it up!

It's crazy to see how much Chell and Atlas have grown. And it's even crazier to see you've barely physically changed in these years. I remember once, I got sick- sorry, run over by a truck full of ninjas right after you, and you replied to my comment in a silly way that made me smile, and it was right after that I got diagnosed with a blood pressure disorder that changed my outlook on everything. Life is kinda funny that way, huh?

I started watching you on the regular when you were moving to Alaska. You are truly a kid at heart, Cory and you have become a father with grace. I always love hearing from you! I can relate to a lot of what you said, other than the attention ting. im the opposite. I literally could go my whole life with very little interaction with other People. I dont even have any interest in marriage or kids. I can relate to the fear of aging. im 25 years old, I have cerebral palsy and autism which makes everything very challenging. I have had a lot of physical challenges all my life, physical therapy, surgery lots of other things like that, I still haven't been able to work due to my disabilities, hard to find anything that will fit my limitations. I still live with my parents on SSI. I have both a physical and cognitive disability which is very frustrating. I am afraid of getting old because im thinking if everything is hard now what is it going to be like when im 40, 50, 60, 70 years old? it truly scares me to think about but I keep my faith in Jesus and that's all I can do at the end of the day. keep these videos coming!

Affirmation - we, as humans desire an affirmation. That we are accepted. Appreciated. Validated. And it doesn't have to be anything big. Just like you said - hearing "good job" is nice now and then. Don't need someone constantly in your face about it, just that someone noticed and pointed it out or said "thank you" or "good job" or "that was so good!" makes you feel validated. Sometimes we get stuck in rut in the day to day and we feel like we aren't important, but remember. Every wave was started with one drop or a small stone tossed into the water, and then it ripples out from that.

It's been a while since I watched one of your vlogs, perhaps six months to a year. Seeing this video in my subscriptions was a pleasant surprise! I haven't watched the video with Chell but the kids have grown so much just seeing the thumbnail.
Ever since you met up with Kristen and especially once you ended up in Oklahoma, there has been a peace that wasn't present in your earlier videos for a long time (and of course you touch on this as I write it). But now, there's a maturity and an even sharper self-awareness. I've been with you for most of your career since I was a kid, and came across your mean kitty video... it's wild to see you where you are now, and think of all that's passed. Your willingness to grow, embrace change, be open, be respectful, and focus on the good (while still acknowledging the negative) has been such an inspiration. And the humor on top of it all was - and is - icing on the cake.
I have my reservations about Tesla, but a car that the family loves is worth so much. I hope you and everyone else enjoys Turret and it gives you many years of joy and happiness!
    R.I.P Grandpa Keith.

Found you through the mean kitty when I was in college and have been watching ever since. Have loved your videos each and every one the lows, the highs, the laughs, the cries. Seeing your development from peeing on an electric fence to now being not afraid to age. Love you and your content my dude. Would give you an epic man hug if I could.

Your words on how you tried to change that fundamental aspect of yourself really resonated with me! In my own journey I've also grown to learn that I can never "fix" who I am. I must first deeply get to know and accept my "flaws" and then they soften by themselves. The moment that I try to deny them or eliminate them is when they just hide and get worse inside me.
Anyway, it's great to hear you and your family are doing well! I wish you all the best!

What scares me beyond my wits isn't getting old, it's getting old without living. I'm 30 now and that fear is very real.
Seeing how you've consistently made interesting life changes and come out the other side, even if all I saw was the thumbnails to the videos, does give me some peace.
It's not over until the light goes out, I guess.

I'm 68 years old. I've messed up my body by smoking and have COPD. However, I am happy. You adjust if your willing to change your mindset. I used to love riding horses, which we don't have. I look back fondly, but I've found other things that make me very happy. It's all the kids, grandkids, and painting and crafts. Oh, and my husband and I will be married 48 years this year. You'll be fine if you keep an mind on the day, let the good memories come with you. Tomorrow is a possibility. It also helps to know the Lord Jesus Christ. I know that's not popular, but it's so true. 😊😊👋👋❤❤

Hello 👋from Canada 🇨🇦 Cory. I would like to share with you how much i appreciate and enjoy your insights as well as your perspective on life. I've been a fan of your UA-cam channel (s) for many years now. I am 25 years old now. I found you through the Mean Kitty song and have now watched you grow into a very kind charismatic individual over the years. Thankyou for being so honest and open with these updates you make from time to time. Its both motivating and comforting. Its good to get your thoughts out outloud whether thats journaling or in front of a camera which ever is easier. Don't feel pressured to share more about your life than what feels reasonable. But i do believe that your words do help those who watch your videos. I hope you are well ❤😊🎥

Getting older means that you can be a grandpa! Getting old gives you perspective, wisdom. Getting old means that you can talk to people about everything…your adventures, your family (brag), sports, history, health advice, sharing what was meaningful for you in your life, what is truly important. Of course you can live your life sharing these things now. You have the right to have a personal life, please know that you owe no one personal info. Cory, you are loved, no need for the affirmation of others. You can be assured of that. Another thought on growing old…take care of your health and old age is fine!

  • @zarasha8220
    @zarasha8220 7 місяців тому

Mentally, emotionally, I still feel relatively young, albeit with the accumulated knowledge base & lived experience of someone just a few years shy of 50... but boy oh boy am I already starting to feel physically different. I tire way more easily, my sleep has been getting harder to come by (after already struggling with insomnia since about age 5) and I'm not as strong or agile as I used to be, I'm discovering that there's way more body parts that can unexpectedly start hurting out of the blue... I'm not "afraid" of getting old, but physically aging, in all the various ways age manifests, genuinely sucks lol
One big positive though... I shouldn't have to worry about periods for too much longer. I can't wait to permanently close that chapter of life haha I'm so over the whole bleeding every single month thing... hell, I've been over that since the novelty wore off around age 14 haha

Waiting for my epic man hug,

Good to see you again Cory. It is amazing to see someone who has been on UA-cam as long as you have, still posting videos all these years later as most of the OG UA-camrs I have subscribed to since 2007 have nearly all stopped making videos, some stopped years ago. I do miss seeing your new videos as much since you don't post much now. However, it is nice to see you giving these updates once in a while. You have always been one of my favourite creators since I first found your videos in 2016.
Sorry to hear about Keith, but he had lived a long life and got to live long enough to see great grandchildren and from what you said, it must have been interesting seeing all his home movies. I never knew any of my great-grandparents as they had all died before I was born, even my grandad on my dad's side had died 8 years before I was born. The only person I knew from my great-grandparents generation was one of my grandaunts on my moms side who lived to be 98.
I am 36 next week and since last year, I have been thinking about getting older, my health and what I have achieved or haven't in my life so far and reflecting on what makes me who I am. What prompted that was that I have lost 3 close family members over the past 3 and a half years. First my dad in 2021, then one of my uncles in 2022 and my last living grandparent last year.
After my dad passed, that made me want to improve my mental and physical health. I got into shape over the past 3 years, exercised more, started eating healthier and was feeling good. However, along the way to improving myself, I had times when I felt a bit depressed. I realised one day that what was causing the depression was while trying to improve my life, I had given up aspects of myself that I probably shouldn't have and I started a plan to bring those aspects of myself back into my life which really helped.
I am now not thinking about getting older and I am taking one day at a time and doing what I can to keep staying mentally and physically healthy.
BTW, I remember seeing the vlog when you got the Jeep so sorry to see it go, but the Tesla sounds like a good replacement.

Stuck around, watched vlogs in the dude like hella era, so on, I still sometimes hear OG's like gmm mention SMPfilms, and it excites me to hear the impact still felt from you and your work.
