Hello, Munirah MM; I am giving it a try even the post is already 2 years old. It would be great if you could still help me. I have the region problem as well. I can access the tech menu on my C460FW with "Menu # 1 9 3 4 Menu", but I do not find an option to reset the region. How did you do it? Thanks a lot for your help. Regards, Stefan
Munirah MM; Don't know if you are reading this, but don't bother in case, I found it and the resetting of region works just fine. Now I can use my new toner cartridges.
Thank you very much! Now a hint for those that get the "Not available Try again later" message: I was getting discouraged as I was having that problem as well. I kept unplugging and restarting and kept getting that dreaded message. Finally I realized that my laptop was connecting to the printer wirelessly to get the printer status. I shut off all computers in the home. Unplugged the printer for 5 minutes. Plugged back in and followed your instructions (again). This time it worked! I was able to reset the imager counter.
Contrary to some other very unproductive comments here, I like the music and think it fits very well :D It's a neat, incisive, little video showing how to bypass the wall samsung/hp made for normal users to prevent them resetting the device... 👍😆 I don't think that it needs any voice and would like to encourage you to make more of these :D My printer won't recognize the yellow card ridge anymore (used to work before). Sadly resetting the memory didn't work, but it was a good try I guess. Do you maybe have another advice? The black card ridge is from the same manufacturer and works well. Contacts got cleared already. Suspiciously on forums I came across many individuals having the same error only for the yellow card ridge...
Hi and sorry for such a long delay in replying, I don't have any additional ideas to solve this problem, the card contacts needing a good clean using perhaps IPA (iso propyl alconol) can work but I suspect you've tried this. It may be that there's a design flaw on that connector, sorry I can't help on this.
Thanks, your video to date was very useful for me to reset this alerts. When you don't have a technician nearby or available, you have to learn a little about everything. Samsumg Xpress C480W.
Well after 30 months of resetting my warning, I am still using this printer and not having any reduction in print or scan quality. It seems very clear that the warnings may appear far too early, almost as if Samsung (now HP) could financially benefit from replacing these items before they actually need replacing. Shocking thoughts eh!!?! :D
Below sequence worked with my C480FW: menu, #, 1, 9, 3, 4 (really quick, within 1 sec) Then press menu again. Then go to: Tech menu / Data setup / Clear Counts (code is 1934 +OK)
The sequence "(1) Menu, (2) back, (3) , (5) OK, (6) Stop, (7) Menu" really works on Samsung Xpress C480, if you input all this in less than 2-3 seconds. Practice several times, and you'll see the light (the magical "Tech Mode").
Im my case (C480W) I do not get the TechMode but Menu with the Options CopyFeature, CopySetup, PrintSetup, SystemSetup ans Network. I could not yet find in any submenu the option data setup. Has anybody a solution?
Thank you! I just had the imaging unit problem yesterday. My printer is C480. I tried the C460 sequence first. Got in the tech mode cleared everything, but did not clear the error. I tried the C480 sequence few times (maybe 5 to 6x) but can't get in the tech mode. Thought I should restart the printer and do it over. As soon as it's done warming up, error message and orange light are magically gone and is now printing again.

Good that it worked for you, my video shows to press OK but it's only onscreen for a second and maybe could be clearer but most people seem to understand. Mine did this a week ago.... I simply used a vacuum cleaner to suck out the collected toner from the small receptacle and now the error has cleared! - I have previously replaced this small plastic item and thought 'what a waste' so to speak... so this time I got my powerful vacuum cleaner, pulled out the waste collector and put the vacuum nozzle against the hole and sucked out the dust... it cleared the thing quickly and when re-fitted the printer no longer gave the message. The transparent window on the waste collector gets dusty, at some point a sensor in the printer decides it's too dusty so needs replacing. I've read that other people wash it out in water but that sounded messy.
If your Samsung laser printer warns you to change the fuser unit, the transfer belt, the imaging unit or goodness knows what else then instead of spending money to replace the items just clear the alarm warnings in the hidden Tech Menu. While this won't fix the problem, it probably will allow the items to work for ages.
Hahaaa. Instead of doing this you can just change the warning counter percentage from 10 % to 1% since the priter starts warning when the fuser or toner reaches 10%.probably for your toner warning in the end, lower the warning level to 1% and that will fix the warning until it comes to 1%.after that its time to replace ⚠️
I tried this with my Xpress C460w but unfortunately when I try to clear the count for the imaging unit I get the notification ''Not available Try again later''. The imaging unit was the one that stopped my print of multiple hundreds of pages that were supposed to be printed on both sides before it finished and the last pages that were printed looked fine. @Dedubya- I found another workaround by simply taping a piece of aluminum foil to the contacts for the picture unit and removing it as soon as the printer restarts. That simulates a fuze burning through which would happen if you replaced the picture unit. Thanks anyway.
I followed your video steps but my printer doesn´t go into tech mode. it isn´t showing repace fuser, it´s showing replace toner. I´ve refilled the cartridges any thoughts?
Is it this model? Samsung C460W - many people have Samsung C460FW which is a different method as described elsewhere in these comments. Also make sure no one is connected via Wifi which someone mentioned stopped you entering the tech menu
After clearing my "Replace fuser soon" warning I am still using the printer 6 months later and it still prints quite well, there is a very slight reduction in print quality in one narrow strip on the right hand side of prints, about 4mm wide. But the good news is that clearing the alarm allows you to use this for many months before problems will likely be visible.
Wait, so I can just clear the count for the Imaging Unit my printer just started complaining about? No need to buy one of those $12 "reset chips" and stick it in there?
Indeed. I just cleared my Image Counter yesterday and it is still doing just fine. You saved me some cash, thanks! I know it will wear out eventually and need replacement, I would rather be the judge of that than some arbitrary number embedded in the code.
Pero le instalo algún software o con la configuración de fábrica nueva, simplemente se le hace la secuencia de comandos y listo ya el contador de copias vuelve a 0
Hello - so a couple of things people have commented, do not have any devices connected to the printer with wifi or USB. Once you have entered the tech menu and cleared the error messages you MUST reboot the printer by removing power to it, wait 10 seconds and reconnect power. I hope that helps.
Hi there, I don't have personal experience of that model but I did find info on the web that says: "Press "Menu > Back > Left > Right > OK > Stop" on the control panel continuously" - I'm not totally sure if you press one button after another or press all of them together (that is what seems to be suggested) . Good luck
That should of course be a working solution :) Printer manager in the computer says 0% yellow left (same colour as the printer display pointed to). However, I get perfect copies even for larger only-yellow areas. So then the message is annoying. But I can at least print again, thanks to the Tech Menu :)
Yes I agree you should be able to reset or ignore the toner level as I'm sure there's 10% in there when it says it's empty.....and my printer is still working despite this fuser warning from nearly a year ago! ok so the image quality is now a little lighter on one edge of the page but still acceptable.
I did this to clear an imaging unit warning (prepare imaging unit), that cleared once the image count was reset, but then it immediately said "Not compatible Black Toner". I have tried the normal hard reboot (power down for 15mins), another black cartridge, but nothing works. Can you help?
Hello, I'm sorry to say I can't give advice as I've never had that issue.... I'm not in front of this printer right now but I seem to recall there were other options to clear more warnings, have you looked at all the clear options to see if that resets the problem?
This doesn't work at all for me? It shows nothing. My printer keeps saying install toner. I got new toners that are for the printer, it won't recognize them.
Is your printer this exact model, the Xpress C460W as these instructions may not work for any other similar looking model which includes the C460FW. Make sure no computer or device is connected wirelessly and worth unplugging the network cable also to the printer, make sure you turn off then on and try again. You have to press the buttons very quickly exactly as per the video.
The Not Available message started showing up. Then the Replace Imaging Unit didnt go away. I tried clearing queque and restarting the printer and u plugging but it still shows up and wont work
Hi, not sure why you're having problems but others have had similar issues and unplugging completely from mains power then trying again usually works. It can take several attempts to correctly get into the Tech Menu and to clear the errors
I cant get mine to go into tech mode. I have tried the exact way/speed you have and nothing. Ive tried for 10 minutes solid and it wont work. Any suggestions?
Is your printer Xpress C460W or Xpress C460FW (which has the number keypad)? - this method only works for Xpress C460W - unplug from mains power, power on, wait 5 mins, then try again.
the correct sequence for C460 FW is
Menu, # , 1,9,3,4,Menu
then data setup
then clear count
Thanks, yes the FW version has a number keypad and is different

But the good news is that clearing the alarm allows you to use this for many months before problems will likely be visible.
Wait, so I can just clear the count for the Imaging Unit my printer just started complaining about? No need to buy one of those $12 "reset chips" and stick it in there?
If it's one of the models that lets you enter the hidden tech menu, yes you can reset the counters and it stops warning you.
Indeed. I just cleared my Image Counter yesterday and it is still doing just fine. You saved me some cash, thanks! I know it will wear out eventually and need replacement, I would rather be the judge of that than some arbitrary number embedded in the code.
gracias por el apoyo funciono la configuracion
Excellent!
Pero le instalo algún software o con la configuración de fábrica nueva, simplemente se le hace la secuencia de comandos y listo ya el contador de copias vuelve a 0
Hallo Sir please i have the same printer but i have a little proplem !!
The printer does not save the print settings
please csn you help me
Hello - so a couple of things people have commented, do not have any devices connected to the printer with wifi or USB. Once you have entered the tech menu and cleared the error messages you MUST reboot the printer by removing power to it, wait 10 seconds and reconnect power. I hope that helps.
my printer does not detect magenta toner, what can I do to make it detect it? I already bought the original Samsung
Hi, sorry I don't know the answer, perhaps make sure the gold contacts are clean inside the printer?
hello do you help how to reset the toner ?thanks
I have the C1810W. Doesn't go into Tech mode. Any thoughts?
Hi there, I don't have personal experience of that model but I did find info on the web that says: "Press "Menu > Back > Left > Right > OK > Stop" on the control panel continuously" - I'm not totally sure if you press one button after another or press all of them together (that is what seems to be suggested) . Good luck
Thanks a lot! helped me sooo much :)
Great, but "Replace Toner" warning/menu did not disappear even after several minutes powerless (so the clicking sound finally faded) and reboot...
I'm not sure you can clear that alarm, I replaced the empty toner cartridge to clear that alarm.
Papu sos DIOS, GRACIAS
I did this to clear an imaging unit warning (prepare imaging unit), that cleared once the image count was reset, but then it immediately said "Not compatible Black Toner". I have tried the normal hard reboot (power down for 15mins), another black cartridge, but nothing works. Can you help?
Hello, I'm sorry to say I can't give advice as I've never had that issue.... I'm not in front of this printer right now but I seem to recall there were other options to clear more warnings, have you looked at all the clear options to see if that resets the problem?
Techwreck no. I bought another printer
Any idea how to do this for the 480 FW series?
hello how can i reset the toners i can't get pc post
I can't remember for certain but one of the options you'll see is 'toner low warnings @0:42 in the video'
thanks
Thanks a lot!!
Perfect
I cant get mine to go into tech mode. I have tried the exact way/speed you have and nothing. Ive tried for 10 minutes solid and it wont work. Any suggestions?
Is your printer Xpress C460W or Xpress C460FW (which has the number keypad)? - this method only works for Xpress C460W - unplug from mains power, power on, wait 5 mins, then try again.
My C460 would not accept pass code 1934, so what to do ?
Problem solved - aparently I typed wron pass code, so all reset now - thanks
