Great review of the ever changing Soi 11. I remember it 20 years ago when it was still mainly houses and the occasional club - the Q bar and the Bed Supper Club (a Phillipe Starke masterpiece I believe). One final thing - take care Jerome, by now you should know the cyclists are the lowest of the pecking order only to pedestrians! I want you safe)
I recently stayed on Soi11 and found that it's only good after 5pm, during the day, it was very difficult for food options as most places were closed during the day except for The Coffee Club. I eat more Thai foods than Western also.
Great videos. I recall when my father-in law Tim rented an apartment in Krystal Court (Soi 7) and when we visited from New Zealand we would walk through an alleyway from Soi 7 to Soi 11 and go to some of the bars there. Great memories of the area. Would love to get back and see the changes.
We loved the Tapas Cafe. Before Bangkok, me and Mirela lived in Madrid for 6 years and when we just arrived in bangkok (13 years ago) Tapas Cafe had the orginal Spanish tasting Tapas.
My first time in BKK in 2016 I stayed in Soi 2 and remember walking "all the way" to Soi 11 to visit the famous Cheap Charlies. I ate once or twice at the restaurants back behind it, but can't remember if I had tapas. 11 is a different world now. I still visit CC in On Nut when I'm down that way.
wow so many changes, I am sure the Manchester United Bar, used on soi 11 back 2008 went their a few time and met my hero Bryan Robson. It great how Bangkok is evolving from when I lived there way back 2007/08, I think I will have shock when I come back this year, it great see that Bangkok is moving forward. thank you for sharing
Been to Panacea a few times. I liked it. I always walk past Finch but never bothered to go in. It looked like a "girly bar/hostess bar." Now I know it's not...I'm going to check it out. Also didn't know it was that big.
04:32 you forgot the night club “ Levels “ It was a good place 7-8 years ago.. and 05:51 “ Nest “ It is a nice chill out place on roof bar with sand areas .. And I didn’t see “ Oskar Bistro Bar “ It is good quality place too..
Hello. Would you suggest to stay at soi 11 for the first time visitor or ??? I would like to stay near a grocery stores, bars/restaurants and public transportation. Thank you ?
crazy how fast things change in Bangkok. I was there in Nov22, went to Phuket for a week, came back and even in that short time there were parts of Soi11 I didn't recodgnize. Some things just vanished, others opened up. Seriously crazy. btw, the open air bar/ rastaurant bar you were showing at 3:01 also moved to Soi 7/1? Do you know something about their wehereabouts? I liked to hang out there.
@@globaltravelmate I think you are referring to the beer bar complex on Soi 7 (not Soi 7/1). Soi 7 has the famous Bier Garten, just past the beer bars, as you walk down from Sukhumvit Road.
@@padthaipaul9849 Hi Paul, probably some of the bars also relocated to Soi 7, that makes sense. I know that the Orange Bar moved to 7/1 where you have the massage places 🙂
The Australian pub where I watched the Ashes in 2019 is gone. Most of the patrons were English expats. Funnily enough, the Australians are back in England for the Ashes next week. Unfortunately, Finches bar will keep the guests next door in The Grand Business Inn awake with their music until 4AM. I know from the previous Indian owned bar keeping me awake last time I stayed there four years ago.
So weird to see a fellow Dutchman wearing a bicycle helmet. For us it's like swearing in church, but I totally understand because BKK traffic is mental.
All of those bars are gone, was it because they had no customers? We must be the only dinosaurs that would prefer a pint or two and a quiet meal for our night out. We’ll pass on cocktails and live music. For us Bangkok was an economical part of our life enjoying Canadian winter by not being in Canada.
A real shame to see Soi 11 gentrified where little bars and restaurants have to go, only to be replaced by a 25-storey hotel and artsy restaurants. Gonna find me some new places to roam I suppose... any suggestions?
Singapore is a neighboring country, having more than 1.1 lbs of cannabis on your person when coming to Singapore may get you the death penalty, just saying😁
That Finch place is way too noisy. Can’t take a date there. At least a first date. No way to talk. The guy playing the clarinet right there. The place looks small too. Oh well.
Went there 2 months ago and couldn’t wait to move on, the music isn’t what I call music(not the same as in video), more like some kind of drum n bass whilst trying to eat.Very dirty and sewer rats running around. Sin city comes to mind really. There are so many wonderful places to visit in Thailand this is not one of them.Oh and be pre warned they will try and rip off tourists like 1200 baht for a gram of weed £30, I couldn’t stop laughing
Krungthep is never boring, see in real soon again 😊✌🏼🇹🇭👍🏼🙏🏼
WOW Sukhumvit Soi change a lot and I were just there last year.
Thanks Jeroen. Always good seeing you.
Haha, nice the guy on the Motorcycle that waved to you. Good to see the support.
Thank you for this update. Soi 11 changed a lot.

This is precisely where I want to retire. Simply elegant with humble beginnings and forward dreams. Hope to see you there. Love the channel. New sub.
Nice video good trip for entertainment❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤
Looks like Soi 11 is becoming the new hot spot! Looks good….
Jereon I’ve never been to this area is it always busy,,,,thank you for the update,,,peace and happiness
this is the lane i used to stay every single time. the best place in Bangkok and center enough to reach anywhere.
Very nice. Thanks for the update Jeroen 😃👍🏼
Boy This vlog was such a gem!
I follow and encourage Jeroen always
Great vid and very informative for me. I'm staying at Solitaire in December
It’s only been 9 months since I was last in Soi 11. What an amazing change, thanks for the information.keep up the Great work 👏
That's why I made this video. It is just amazing how fast things can change.
Always good see your videos. Thanks for walking us thru Bangkok streets.

Thanks for showing us around.
4:06 I had dinner at Tony's at Hyde 11 last week. Good Italian food & pizza.

We opened Tapas Cafe in the Soi behind Cheap Charlie’s inn2006. Many changes since those days - and not all for the better. Just my personal opinion!

The Manchester United Bar moved to the Lat Prao area many years ago. Not sure if it is still open there.
@@globaltravelmate ho thank you
I’m gonna check out The Golden Giraffe it has a pool table 😊
Hoping to run into you one of these days no pun intended 555
Great video, nice and concise!
Yes I saw many Canabis shops like DGanja in Sukumvit 18 and on the Main Rd.. last January. I did'nt visit this Sukumvit 11, as it was crowded.
Love your videos on soi 11,can you just pop into some of the bars just for a beer as they look quite flash.Seems to be a lot going on there.
Wowww...Nice new bar😮 😊🫰❤️🎉🎊
@ Jeroen Good news. Today, the MRT Yellow Line has opened 9 more stations from 10 stations to Lad Phrao Road.😊🚝🟡🟨
Bangkok allowed bars to open to public til 4am now?

wow changes!
so much has changed since i was there in 2006
The old bed supper club used to be down thwre
Was a fantastic club too
Nice footage.
What action camera are you using please
Thanks, what is the best place for live rock music in BKK?
I love Soi 11.

I like skhumveet nightmare from nepal Kathmandu.
Change isn’t always better looks like probably higher prices
does anyone know what happened to the grand president hotel near the german restaurant ?
Looks great. Anyone been to the Jamaican Restuarant ? Any recommendations for a good hotel on soi 11?
I was there last March (2024) - Finch was great, Panacea was already closed down...
Yeah, Panacea is now the Paradise Beach Bar
There changed a lot in Soi 11. Upscale and booming. 🙏
Hello there, pls share the gear & camera you are using in this video
S22Samsung phone abd zihyun gimbal.
Hi, if stay in Sukhumvit, where is the interesting place can visit with cyclic, thanks!
Benjakitti Park is nice for cycling
The flyover at Klong Toie has reopened. Something for you to visit.
Yeah, I saw it.
I would have given way to the pedestrian at @1:39. The video was interesting none-the-less.
Sad that the street bars close, good reasonable food and drinks. Oh well. For upscale Thai food Burapa, opposite Hillary 11 is a great place.
Was that Candy Dulfer 2.0 playing sax at Panacea.🤔
That violinist is so much better than Andre Rieu 😂
What's in the space previously known as Suk11 Hostel?
That is the part where they removed the street bars. They will start constructing on that area soon.
So weird to see a fellow Dutchman wearing a bicycle helmet. For us it's like swearing in church, but I totally understand because BKK traffic is mental.
Anders laat mijn vrouw me niet fietsen Erno, haha. Maar het voelt ook wel beter moet ik eerlijk zeggen. Zou nu niet meer zonder fietsen.
Why? We don’t have to be like you. You don’t have to be like us. What kind of f_ _ king attitude.
@@globaltravelmate de vriendin van mijn zoon is ook Roemeense. Zij kan zich niet meer voorstellen ooit nog met helm te fietsen.

Hi when did you made this video? Isn't it raining in Bangkok?
It rains some time.
IS THERE ANY GYM IN SOI 11 AREA????
There is a 24/7 Gym at 15 Sukhumvit Residences in Sukhumvit Soi 15.
Soi 11 is ghost street now 🙁 do you have any idea where the orange bar and other little bars shifted 🤔🤔🤔
Orange Bar moved to Soi 7/1.

We’ll pass on cocktails and live music. For us Bangkok was an economical part of our life enjoying Canadian winter by not being in Canada.
The area where the streetbars where is now a construction site. There will be a 25 stories high hotel.
I don’t know where that is but doesn’t look like soi 4 to 11 in April 2024😊
Shit that was a narrow entrance way into Finch. Two folk standing there and you woukdnt get in. Amazing how much is opening and its low season
A real shame to see Soi 11 gentrified where little bars and restaurants have to go, only to be replaced by a 25-storey hotel and artsy restaurants. Gonna find me some new places to roam I suppose... any suggestions?
Most of these places will be closed by the end of 2024 if not already closed, just for the wrong crowd that hangs around bkk soi 11
ถนนสุขุมวิทบางช่วงเริ่มมีเศษขยะมากขึ้น🇹🇭
This soi eleven looks very tacky, Jeroen. I prefer along the river, soi langsuan, thonglor, ekamai, or around sathorn
Looks like you missed the most interesting spots!
Off course.
Soi 11 will soon change name to ''Little India''😅
Yes, Climax is open again. Great live music as always.
Finch looks like an expensive place......a bit out of my league.
Singapore is a neighboring country, having more than 1.1 lbs of cannabis on your person when coming to Singapore may get you the death penalty, just saying😁
I could do without the Kenny G music

Finch's food is um... terrible.
Pretty boring !
