It's a pretty well known river. Just look up brown trout fishing near red deer and you'll find it. Fish are really spooky there, and watch out for angry land owners.
Great video-saw a bit of this trip in the Orvis guide to dry fly fishing-nice to see the whole thing- did you guys do any night fishing during the hex hatch?
Great video. I love to sight fish too, but have trouble finding the right glasses. Interested in what make and model of glasses he uses for sight fishing. I have bought lots in my time and never seem to get good ones. Thanks Jer
My 3 best teachers. All in one place!!!
Thanks for these films. Very much like going to school
Great episode! I especially appreciate the focus on small-stream techniques that I can apply to our spring creeks in Wisconsin.
A great watch, most especially on a winter's night in New England as I look forward to warmer days and mayfly hatches.
That's why I started ice fishing... something to do while waiting for open water.
What an amazing episode . Thank you !
Dave is a legend
yes he is
great knowledge guys! thank you for the videos.
Those fish really hit hard. Wow.
Great episode
that first shot of the fly going down stream and the fish hitting was awesome. Great job with the camera!!
Great video. Ive watched it twice and probably will again. Nice camera work.
Awesome Video! Nice to see some small stream fishing and techniques! Love all the foam patterns! Thanks for posting!
Super episode!
Not sure I'd call that a "tiny spring creek" good video still.
New to the Red Deer area. Keen to know which tributaries these are as they surely ain't the Red Deer river ?
Not sure either and Dave jensen had the team swear to secrecy. Suspect you may have to do some research with Google Earth. Good luck!

Hex during the day? Not the clouds you see when you think of THE Hex hatch at night but still... Nice!

Please note : for us not in US /CA : 1 ft = 30.48 cm
Great video but it doesn't really fit the description of small stream fishing according to Tom's own book.
