@@JohnnyJohnHub thanks!! No not really, sometimes I open up MPC 2 as a plugin inside logic or FL studio, but it feels kind of clunky and annoying so haven’t done that in a long time. But there is also a way to set up the MPC software kind of like “MIDI” inside the computer so you run the two programs along side eachother. But for the most part I end up just exporting or recording into logic for mix/arranging
Oh yeah? Didn’t work? I think I read a few years ago that 2000 should work to a certain extent.. or maybe it was the XL. Love your channel btw 🔥 are you in BK?
I dont have a MPC but I do regularly open up old beats from as far back as 2006, and I actually like the rawness of beats that are not perfect due to lack of knowledge or skills. I will say your drums are fire despite being layed down nearly 20 years ago.
@@HOLLASOUNDS haha its crazy.. ive been to meetings with artists and A&Rs where they go crazy over the the last “weird” unfinished throw in beat, after skipping through BANGERS that you spent so much time perfecting lol. And then you may not even be proud of the song when it’s done. But it is what it is..
@@trackfammusic2979 I think this might not be because are best beats are complex but more to do with some rappers feeling there rap is not good enough for that fire beat so they choose a worse one so they can stand out a rapper. They dont want people listening to a tune thinking "ohh I love the music on this tune" they want to hear instead "This rap is fire" type deal almost like the rapper see the producer as competition rather then a equal party.
I used to have a 1000 back then too and still have those old beats I made too. I might try to load them up and see if I can play them back in my newer MPCs. I have an X (like yours) as well as a recently purchased new Key 37. I didn't know you could import those old sequences into the newer machines. I also have a MPC2500 with JJOS2XL. I may try to experiment with trying to import those sequences too. There are a lot of differences in the JJOS2XL from the the original Akai OS, so I would not be surprised if the JJOS2XL sequences and programs are completely incompatible with the newer machines. If they do actually turn out to be compatible, especially the sequences, then my jaw will drop! Thank you for making this video.
Hey man! Glad the video was helpful. JJOS2XL is what I used for most of these beats too, so it works, but like I said in the video, I didn’t do too much complicated stuff in the MPC. Mainly chopping up samples, drums etc and some quick leveling and then dump into logic for editing, arrange, mix. I would actually be surprised if you CANT do the same in MPC 3, but who knows.. there is definitely no guarantee.
@trackfammusic2979 You're welcome. Cool!!! Thanks for letting me know the conversion works for JJOS2XL sequences. I'm going to definitely try to load some! I would probably have more compatibility issues with my drum and keygroup programs than with the sequences because I did do a lot of program editing in JJOS2XL. So, I will most likely have to do some tweaking to get things right, regarding programs.
I opened up an MPC1000 JJOS2XL project on desktop MPC 2.12 and it got the Drums right, but mixed up the samples and got the 16 Level tune wrong. Easy fix though
Nice Chanel! Do you use mpc x or one with any other software than mpc2 ? Im looking something to use with Akai samplers but not Akai soft.

@@trackfammusic2979 thanks, beside Akai mpc or before that i was using reason soft but this soft dosent work easy with this combinaton, rhx
I once bought a floppy drive to see if my MPC 2000 beats would work on MPC X

@@HOLLASOUNDS I can definitely agree with that. Hip hop is not really supposed to be “perfect” in my opinion… but there is still wack vs dope 😂
