Great Review Sean and my family and I literally just got back from seeing Dial of Destiny and we really enjoyed it and for Harrison Ford to still be at it at 80 years old is damn impressive in my book 📖 But hopefully this is the last one cause like I said he’s 80 years old Lol 😂 But I’d have to say my favorite Indiana Jones movie is Raiders of the Lost Ark Hands Down Have a Wonderful 4th of July with your family God Bless 🇺🇸😊
You know that Raiders and Last Crusade are both God Tier films when they both come in at #1 on Sean’s ranking.
Last Crusade is nowhere near the film that Raiders is, sorry!! :)
The best thing about the last crusade is having Connery and the dynamic with ford. Aside from that it’s pretty good but not as good as raiders of the lost ark.
Last crusade ain't touching raiders. Honestly you can argue the temple of doom was better. It takes itself way too seriously
With Raiders and Last Crusade it all depends personal preference.
@@kfitz2711bruh
1. The last crusade
2. Raiders of the lost ark
3. Temple of doom
4. Dial of destiny
5. Kingdom of the crystal skull
1. Raiders of the Lost Ark
2. Last Crusade
3. Temple of Doom
4. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
5. Dial of Destiny
But I like all 5 films, and love the OG 3
I watched The Last Crusade with my dad when I was young. He died young and I didnt really get to know him but when I watch this film it connects me to him in a way. The original trilogy all get 10/10 from me but The Last Crusade has a special place in my heart.
I'm sorry you lost your dad so young. I'm glad you watched this with your dad before he went to heaven. You will see him again
My dad and I also watched it, and he died in 2008
I know the first movie is really influential, but in this case the Last Crusade not only that it lives up to the original, it's as perfect as it, but has simply better ending and I love the chemistry between Sean and Harrison
Nope. Raiders it literally perfect. Last crusade is boring at times. I saw them both back to back in the theater when COVID was a thing. A local theater played all the Indiana Jones movies. Raiders was amazing. So was temple of doom. Last crusade is good but i don't go to Indiana Jones movies for father/son dynamic. The only good thing I get from Sean Connery is that it feels like he's having a good time. But idk, I think last crusade good but not touching raiders
@@sideswipe3023 no because the last of us isn't an adventure film, is it? The last of us is all about the relationship of Joel and Ellie. That's the point. There was no need to introduce Indy's dad. And the characterization in these movies is weak. Maybe watch some old siskel and Ebert reviews to get why ppl liked these films. It was because of the action. Roger Ebert said "I don't go to Indiana Jones movie for a father and son relationship, I go for the set pieces and since those are well done, thumbs up". And I agree with that, im sick of ppl going to action films wanting great stories when that was never the case. You want a good story with intricate characters and great acting, watch a drama.
Last crusade is amazinh
@@mania4270the dad just made it more fun if you ask me. I love the characterization 🤷♂️
@@RandomResearch57yeah I never understood why last crusade gets so much hate. We get to see a backstory of Indy as a kid in the beginning and we get to meet his father played by Sean Connery. Fun fact Sean Connery was actually offered to work with Spielberg again to do Jurassic Park and star as John Hammond which he turned down.
The thing about Temple of Doom is from the point where Indy says “Right, all of us.” In response to Willie saying let’s get out of here to the end of the movie, it’s the best stretch of Indiana Jones put to screen. It also features the most heroic act of Indy’s career in freeing all those kids
I've always believed that Temple of Doom has some outstanding moments, but the movie as a whole simply doesn't work nearly as well as Raiders or Crusade.
Yes! This! Plus it has the best score. It’s the best in my ranking
@@joeyk107I love all 4 movies and haven't seen Dial of Destiny yet. It's too bad Karen Allen aka Scotty Smalls mom from the Sandlot didn't stick around for atleast until The Last Crusade. Shes the best love interest out of all of them. Willie in the second film was just very whiney and annoying and I rolled my eyes everytime she appeared on screen. Alison Doody came off as the love interest in the third one but then turned villainous.
5. Temple of Doom
4. Dial of Destiny
3. Crystal skull
2. Raiders
1. Lost crusade
I have the same ranking.
This is the winner, for sure
1. Raiders of the lost ark
2. Temple of doom
3. Dial of destiny
4. Last crusade
5. Kingdom of the crystal skull
My own ranking would be very close to this. I’ll have to let DOD percolate a little longer and maybe see it again before setting my own list.
The correct ranking:
1. Temple of Doom
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark
3. The Last Crusade
4.The Dial of Destiny
5. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
I respect other peoples opinions but putting the Dial of Destiny above last Crusade isn’t opinion I’m sorry but I can’t respect.
Damn hot take putting Last Crusade that low
@@pleaseenteraname1103
I’ve only had my first viewing with low expectations,
so I may need to rewatch it again
My personal ranking (haven’t seen destiny)
4. Crystal skull (don’t hate it but certainly the weakest)
3. Temple (a bit dark but has its iconic moments)
2. Raiders (the quintessential adventure film)
1. Last crusade (has the most heart of the franchise with the father/son relationship which is what brings it on top for me!;)
My exact ranking. I have Destiny at number 5. Don’t waste your time with it lol. It makes Crystal Skull look good.
@@danfarmer3019absolutely agree, it’s crazy to say that crystal skull is a better send off
@@50.CalFilms I never thought i’d say that either. Its insulting what they did to Indy’s character in Dial of Destiny. Its almost like they’re trying to destroy the fans’ childhoods on purpose.
@@danfarmer3019 I mean what did we expect? they did the same if not worst to the cast of the original trilogy in Star Wars, I really thought it wouldn’t be on par with the original 3 but we would still get some great characters showing up like short round but they couldn’t even give us good fan service
@@50.CalFilms For real. Should of seen it coming. I definitely didn’t think it was going to be as good as the original 3. But i thought, like you said, there would be some good fan service and an emotional payoff. With some funny moments. But we got none of that.
I watched dial of destiny yesterday and enjoyed it. Here is my ranking of the indiana Jones movies
1. Temple of doom
2. Raiders of the Lost ark
3. The last crusade
4. Kingdom of the crystal skull
5. Dial of destiny
Finally someone who likes Temple of Doom the best. I love temple of Doom!
That's my ranking, at least 1-4. Haven't seen dial
Haven't Watched Dial Of Destiny But.. Here's My List,
1. Temple Of Doom
2. Raiders Of The Last Ark
3. The Last Crusade
4. Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull
The biggest surprise to me was finding out that Temple of Doom wasn’t everyone’s favorite
My Ranking:
*1. Raiders of the Lost Ark* (Cinematic Masterpiece. Flawless, René Belloq and Arnold Toht are my all time Indy Villains)
*2. The Last Crusade* (Best Sequel no contest , Sean Connery (007) and Julian Glover (Aristotle “Aris” Kristatos from FYEO) gives the film a classy touch)
*3. The Dial of Destiny* (Thought it was pretty good and I liked the idea of a “Nazi fugitive trying to resurrect the Third Reich by exploiting the past with a gang of Neo-Nazis” type of gimmick. I like how Jürgen Völler is a homage to famous ex-Nazi turned NASA scientist, Wernher Von Braun.
*4. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull* (I never understood the hate for this one. The refrigerator deal is not even close as absurd as the inflatable raft scene seen in Temple of Doom when the heroes jumped out of the airplane and the Aliens instead of Religions theme “problem” didn’t even faze me. I thought it was great they were headed to those 1950’s alien comic book serial fantasies so it never really got to me that the film series decided to evolve from its normal tradition of wrath of God(s) involving sacred treasures. I also like how appropriate the Soviets were the villains due to the threat of the U.S.S.R. during the Cold War after the Nazis were defeated after World War II. During the 1950’s it was Nuclear Holocaust/World War III Paranoia from the Cold War’s Arm Race at the time, so it was fitting. Shame that the Russian demographic reception when it was apparent that the Russians were the antagonists, it offended them so much, they didn’t like how Soviets were put in the same league as Nazis as they were sworn enemies due to conflicting ideologies.
*5. Temple of Doom* (My least liked entry IMO, but I don’t hate it. I enjoy all Indy films. Mola Ram was the scariest villain, but the least imposing. I don’t think he was that intelligent or clever compared to the other villains but he was a witch doctor with supernatural powers at his side. I also don’t like how Lao Che was never mentioned again after Temple of Doom. I know he was to reappear in a sequel, but due to Roy Chiao’s death, it is now impossible due to respect in his memory for his passing. I already mentioned the inflatable raft scene after the airplane is completely absurd while the refrigerator scene in KOTCS was much less mind-numbing. I agree with Doug Walker’s Nostalgia Critic rant on this topic. Short Round was annoying, Willie Scott was such a bimbo and a pain in the ass throughout the entire movie and the dinner scene with all the (so-called) “exotic” food was just gross especially the Monkey Brains. It was because of this dinner scene in Temple of Doom that this film got banned in India, but luckily was repealed years after movie goers and critics were less offended of this scene as time went on.
My Ranking:
5. Dial of Destiny (6.5/10)
4. Crystal Skull (7.5/10) (severely Over hated imo)
3. Temple of Doom (8/10)
2. Last Crusade (10/10) ( so so so close to #1!)
1. Raiders (10/10)
My ranking is the same
5. Kingdom of Crystal Skull 6/10
4. Dial of Destiny 6.5/10
3. Temple of Doom 9/10
2. Last Crusade 10/10
1. Raiders of The Lost Ark 10/10 (my second favorite movie of all time)
Absolutely love the trilogy, everything else is fine. Indy gotta be one of my favorite character ever too 🔥
Temple of doom is a 5 best case. Need to stop that nostalgia dictating how good something is.

5. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (4/10)
4. Dial of Destiny (6/10)
3. Last Crusade (8/10)
2. Temple of Doom (8/10)
1. Raiders of the Lost Ark (11/10)
Maybe my favourite film franchise of all time because it just means so much to me. I honestly enjoy each movie in their own right and I can easily overlook their flaws. Massive part of my childhood and Raiders is my fav movie of all time to this day
That would be my ranking as well. Honestly as much as I really enjoy Last Crusade, I’ve always preferred Temple of Doom over it.
The character "Short Round" is really great because he allows the people in audience to imagine themselves as being him. This I believe would appeal to little kids the age of Short Round. When I a saw the movie "Fun In Acapulco" I was ten years old and I enjoyed it because I could relate to the character "Raul" because he was a little just like I was.
My dad was 18 when he got to see Raiders of the Lost Ark and here I am now at 18 seeing Dial of Destiny with him at 60 years old now.
In my opinion Temple of Doom is the best sequel (or technically prequel) we got. It's the best because it feels the most different. None of the characters except Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones reprises their roles and it is fantastically entertaining, horrifying, funny, and weird in a kind of b-movie way. There is little character development in the first few films, but I don't really care. All you need is great set pieces, dialogue, humor, and fun action to make these kind of movies work. Raiders has by far the best script of all these films, but I prefer the sets in Temple of Doom and like how much it contrasts with the original. It starts off like a James Bond film with the club sequence and never loses steam until the very last action scene on the bridge. I think Roger Ebert was right in his review that these films work best when they don't try to explain backstories or where Indiana Jones comes from, because frankly, I don't care what Jones did as a young man or who his father was. He is great as a kind of James Bond action star that just happens to find himself caught up in these exciting adventures as opposed to a character that is part of a continuous narrative. I like Last Crusade. It also has great action, especially with the tank battle towards the end, but I think it started the Indiana Jones as a character stuff and trying to introduce heartfelt drama that became even more of a problem with the terribly disappointing sequels. Temple of Doom is hugely underrated in my view.
I completely agree with you. Temple of Doom is my favorite post-Raiders Indy film, I like the fact that it has a different vibe than the rest of films inside of the franchise.
I agree, I think Raiders is the best made movie in the franchise but I enjoy and watch Temple of Doom the most.
@@BishopWalters12 Yeah. It would be hard to disagree with that. The first one will always be the best for me. It has the most memorable dialogue and is so well directed with so many iconic shots and sequences. I think Lucas probably thought he couldn't top it and would just try something completely different for the next entry. That darker but also goofier film turned out to be a great direction to take it in. I just wish they would have made more sequels that were as bold and entertaining as this was for its time instead of playing it so safe.
I likewise love temple for its difference. I think mola ram's the best villain and you actually get a final boss fight with him. It's dark and chaotic with the action. Very very memorable
Its the INDY Empire Strikes Back just not nearly as good. It is also better than the rehash of Raiders Crusade was. Like Jedi was a rehash of Star Wars.
1. The Last Crusade
2. Raiders of the Lost Arc
3. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I like the monkey part in Kindom of the crystal skull, the fridge part aswell. And the Ant part is one of the best set pieces in the franchise imo. For me thats still a 8/10 movie.
I agree but i would give it a 7
I think it would have been better without any alien related things
So its the same except for when the crystal skeletons merge into the alien and the ufo are not in it

2. Raiders of the Lost Ark
3. Dial of Destiny
4. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
5. Temple of Doom
I rewatched them all recently and while Crystal Skull has some big issues, I'd still prefer to watch it over Temple of Doom. I think the only thing I like in ToD is Short Round.
5. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (although I do find it overhated by the internet)
4. Dial of Destiny
3. Last Crusade (personal enjoyment, the other two are more fun)
2. Temple of Doom
1. Raiders of the Lost Ark (one of my favorite movies of all time)
Bullshit
I don’t like Crystal Skull at all, but I think it makes sense why Indy survived being in the refrigerator, nuked and survived nuclear poison. This guy literally drank from the grail in Last Crusade which grants Immortality. I don’t get people that say he could’ve died. If he did die, it’d make no sense.
It didn’t grant immorality
@@stevenmcburney8167It did, but you have to remain in the temple and drink from it regularly
@@dawsynasay4841 Gotcha! Okay, now it makes sense.
That's a very good analogy. With the grail giving him eternal life because he did drink from the cop
@@fjbsdoa1976 That’s true, but you also have to think about how did Henry die. As much as we enjoy these films, the stories can be very complicated. XD
MatPat just did a Film Theory video proving that surviving the nuke in a fridge is possible, but that the fridge would kill him because it can't be opened from inside.
Those videos suck
the only issue with that conclusion is that he didn't factor in the impact of the fall breaking the lock on the fridge. which is exactly what happened in the film
@@rct3isepicno way in hell is he surviving that fall tho
@@bigmanliam ain't no way in hell he surviving falling off a massive cliff in a raft either. But people seem to just give that a pass
@@rct3isepic that was dumb too but this movie was worse cuz of the cgi and the waterfall scene where they also wouldve died

1. Raiders Of The Lost Ark
2. The Last Crusade
3. Temple Of Doom
4. Kingdom Of Crystal Skull
5. Duel Of Destiny
Last Crusade definitely the best one
Nah
I hated how The Last Crusade film turned Denholm Elliot’s Marcus Brody into a joke of a character. That punchline joke from Indy was terrible. 🤦🏻♂️
Agreed!
100%
It's Temple of Doom for me
Didn’t realize you were sober. Glad to hear you’re doing good at this point in your life, proud of you man!! Love the content, too (obviously, lol)!!!!
I've seen Temple of Doom the most because it was played on HBO/Cinemax all the time in the early-90s. But Last Crusade remains my favorite. Indy was born on July 1, 1899. Happy birthday yesterday, Indy! The early part of Last Crusade was set in 1912. River Phoenix was 18 portraying a 13-year-old Indy.
I played my DVD box set of Indiana Jones all the time and I watched every featurette. How can you dislike a movie where Indiana Jones is the son of James Bond? And if you watch the BTS stuff, Harrison and Sean enjoyed working together. Sean was only 12 years older.
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade happens to be Spielberg's favorite Indiana Jones/Raiders film. He stated this in the DVD extras like 20 years ago. Spielberg is trying to disown Temple of Doom which is considered racist by Indians and too dark and horrifying.
Temple of Doom's issues for me isn't really because it's dark and scary. Or it sounding racist towards Chinese and Indian stereotypes. I think it suffers from a weak second act with the Kano fatality stuff. I believe Harrison was injured for a lot of it and they needed a stand-in.
The movie gets quite slow after the dinner scene. And future Mrs. Spielberg was loud and annoying. Not as awful as Helena Shaw but Willie Scott still was annoying. I can understand India banning this film for insulting their culture.
Tarantino actually loves Temple of Doom. He stated this in his podcast last year that he thought Last Crusade was boring and Temple of Doom was his favorite Spielberg film ever. The one that created a new rating called PG-13.
None of the Indiana Jones movies are perfect. The Last Crusade involved an invisible bridge. Temple of Doom had Short Round fighting grown ass men and kicking them away after using a torch to get Indy out of his hypnosis. "Indy, I love you! Wake up, Indy!"
The Last Crusade and Temple of Doom are my two favorite Indy films ever, so I'm not trying to bring one down to raise the other. I've seen both countless times like I have for Back To The Future I & II. They're both fun and highly replayable for me. I wouldn't be a big Indiana Jones fan without those two films.
"Okie-dokie, Doctah Jones, hold on to your potatoes!"
"Fortune and glory, kid. Fortune and glory."
"We are going to die!"
"He no nuts. He's crazy!"
"If you are a Scottish lord, then I am Mickey Mouse."
"How dare he!" (Harrison's Scottish accent was a little weak)
"I should've mailed it to the Marx Bros."
Elsa: It's perfectly obvious where the pages are. He's given them to Marcus Brody.
Henry Jones: Marcus? You didn't drag poor Marcus along did you? He's not up to the challenge.
Walter Donovan: He sticks out like a sore thumb. We'll find him.
Indiana Jones: The hell you will. He's got a two day head start on you, which is more than he needs. Brody's got friends in every town and village from here to the Sudan, he speaks a dozen languages, knows every local custom, he'll blend in, disappear, you'll never see him again. With any luck, he's got the grail already.
[Cut to the very next scene in the Middle East, Marcus Brody wearing bright suit and white hat, sticking out like sore thumb]
Marcus Brody: Uhhh, does anyone here speak English?
"No ticket." (referenced in Loki S1E1)
"He chose poorly."
"Indiana.. Indiana.. Let it go."
"He got lost in his own museum, huh?"
Indiana Jones' true ending

Indiana Jones helped to define my childhood alongside Star Wars, James Bond and Spider-Man.
At twelve years old, I begged my Mum to buy me a leather jacket just like Indy’s, and I longed to own a battered and worn fedora hat…
Indiana Jones introduced me to the wonders of history and the mythic tales of long-lost artefacts, religious icons and spooky stories; he encouraged me to be brave in exploring new places and ideas and never stop looking for an answer to the unknown.
Indiana Jones was one of my heroes, a teacher and guide for many years, and as I aged, my love of the film series only increased.
Even now, Indiana Jones transports me back to my childhood and it’s sense of wonder and adventure!
Do I still wish I was Indiana Jones forty years on? Hell, yes!
In all honesty, there has been many times in my life where I have debated with myself which of the three original films is my favourite, with all three of them appearing more than once at the top of my ranking!
But here is my ranking as it currently stands:
1: Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Raiders of the Lost Ark is not only one of the best films ever made and one of my all time favourite films of all time, but it’s also one of the most culturally significant, it’s place in the history of cinema both genre-defining and immortal.
Raiders of the Lost Ark was the spark that gave birth to a legend as two influential directors joined forces.
It’s actually a rather extraordinary tale of how this film and character came to be…
Raiders of the Lost Ark continues to provide the template for action and adventure films forty years after it’s release, with it’s cultural impact felt throughout the landscape of modern cinema.
2: The Last Crusade.
The Last Crusade took what made Raiders of the Lost Ark a truly great film and upped the comedy factor while also deepening it’s hero in a meaningful way, and in doing so it created an infinitely rewatchable film that continued the franchise's legacy.
Much of why I love The Last Crusade so much comes down to the perfect pairing and chemistry between Harrison Ford and the late Sean Connery.
Making Indy’s Dad literally be James Bond is one of the slickest meta-textual casting decisions ever made in any film!
3: Temple of Doom.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is an underrated masterpiece. Yeah I said it!
It is a glorious fun-house roller coaster made by disturbed geniuses in perfect harmony with each other. Their goal: anything goes…
This was the Indiana Jones film of my childhood to be honest, it was the one I watched the most and I even acted out scenes from it…
At it’s core, Temple of Doom is another grand adventure film that perfectly captures the magic of Raiders of the Lost Ark, while also pushing the franchise in a dark and exciting new direction!
(There’s a big gap between the original trilogy and the newer films!)
4: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
I honestly don’t think it’s as bad as many deem it to be…
But from the moment it begins, something about Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull just feels off…
In the 18 years between Crystal Skull and Last Crusade, the franchise’s key creative team seemed to forget what made it so good in the first place.
As a result, when Indiana Jones finally stepped back on-screen again, the old-school filmmaking spirit that had once made his original adventures so exciting had sadly vanished, replaced by contemporary shortcuts that left Kingdom of the Crystal Skull feeling like the zero-calorie version of a meal audiences had once savoured!
5: Dial of Destiny.
This may be the most disappointing cinema experience I’ve had since Star Wars The Last Jedi…
I don’t think it’s as insulting as that film was but this is without a doubt, The Last Jedi of the Indiana Jones franchise!
Dial of Destiny is not only an embarrassment of a film that shames the entire franchise, but also the entire genre and the entire concept of filmmaking.
It is a complete and utter waste of money and talent, made by a shambling wreck of a studio that’s basically the Hollywood equivalent of a junkie rifling through their trashed department in the hopes of finding one last forgotten stash!
Keep it up Sean, great work
Agree it always put a lot of great work in his videos

1 Crusade , 2 Raiders (almost tied for 1), 3 Dial, 4 Temple, 5 Skull. Dial of Destiny is a lot better than a lot of angry clickbait reviews are giving it credit for, and it's more fun and interesting than Temple.
1. Raiders of the Lost Ark
2. Last Crusade
ASTRONOMICALLY LARGE GAP
3. Temple of Mid
3. Kingdom of the Crystal Mid
4. Mid of Destiny
:)
Imagine using mid unironically

5. Dial of destiny
4. Kingdom of the crystal skull
3. The last crusade
2. Raiders of the lost ark
1. Temple of doom
1. The Last Crusade
2. Raiders Of The Lost Ark
3. Dial Of Destiny
4. Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull
5. Temple Of Doom
#1 Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (it’s the first one I watched with my family and got me interested in the franchise)
#2 Raiders of the Lost Ark (It’s a classic, it has so many iconic scenes and I overall enjoyed it)
#3 Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (I really liked the bond between Indiana Jones and Henry Jones Sr. and how they added the scenes with the Nazis and Hitler)
#4 Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (I really liked how they added the time travel scene and how Jones has a cool final goodbye better than the fourth but not as good as the original three)
#5 Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Chrystal Skull (It was a good movie overall, but it was just not as good as the rest and was honestly all over the place)
Honestly even though I liked Dial of Destiny and thought that it was a satisfying enough ending to the Indiana Jones franchise. I actually think I prefer Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
I finally saw Indiana Jones for the first time and I knew I'd love it because I'm a big fan of Uncharted and Tomb Raider. Well some of the movies I didn't love:
1. Raiders of the Lost Ark 8/10
2. The Last Crusade 8/10
3. Temple of Doom 7/10
4. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull 6/10
5. The Dial of Destiny 5/10
I would honestly say:
1# The Last Crusade
2# Raiders of The Lost Ark
3# Dial Of Destiny
4# Kingdom of the crystal skull
5# Tempel of Doom
I will get so many people angry with this list....
5. Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull
4. The Dial Of Destiny
3. The Temple Of Doom
2. The Last Crusade
1. Raiders Of The Lost Ark
great rankings man
Knew this was coming!!
And im all bloody for it!!!
1). Last Crusade
2). Raiders
3). Dial of Destiny
4). Crystal Skull
5). Temple of Doom
Aside from Raiders being 2 instead of 1, this is pretty much how I would rank the movies
Is dial actually better than temple? I'm planning on seeing it later in the month with my brother and sister
@@timetraveler7 I personally thought it was
Temple of doom storyline is chronologically set a year before Raiders of the Lost Ark🔥🤠
Worst to best?
Dial of Destiny is so bad, I'm not even going to rank it. It doesn't deserve any acknowledgement.
4. *Kingdom of the Crystal Skull*
- Dial of Destiny did something I never thought possible and that is it elevated this movie to WATCHABLE status.
3. *Raiders of the Lost Ark*
- I remembered seeing this when I was young kid and while I enjoyed the end result, I was not all that enamored with the seemingly slow-pace of the movie. Maybe if I watch it again, I'd appreciate it more but I just don't feel like it.
2. *Temple of Doom*
- It was a fun ride watching this film. This was Indiana Jones to me and it still stuns me that this is a Prequel to Raiders (that blew my mind).
1. *Last Crusade*
- What do you get when you have Harrison Ford and Sean Connery on-screen together in an Indiana Jones film?
GOLD.
This is the best indiana jones list. Finally someone not overrating raiders of the lost ark and not hating on temple of doom
I don’t get how temple of doom is above raiders
Because..umm...it's my list? @@jamestropicals8262
Uhh. Because it's MY list? @@jamestropicals8262
1. Last Crusade
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark
3. Temple of Doom
4. Dial of Destiny
5. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Crystal Skull is my least favorite, but I don’t dislike it and in fact my impression of it has grown more favorable over time. I think it really benefits by no longer being the “final” Indy movie. It wasn’t a satisfying “goodbye” to the character but it works fine as an in-between adventure. Sure,
the fridge and the vine-swinging are a little goofy but those are minor blip
Honestly any of the original trilogy at #1 is accurate but this is how I’d rank:
5. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (7/10)
4. Dial of Destiny (8/10)
3. Last Crusade (10/10)
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark (10/10)
1. Temple of Doom (10/10)
You could do a ranking of opening scenes from all films. I personally liked the mannequins in the fake town. It was like something from the Twilight Zone.
I’m an 80’s kid, these movies are nostalgic, but on rewatch recently, the Temple of Doom is a big downgrade compared to Raiders and the last crusade.
IMDBs Ranking:
5. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (6.2/10)
4. Dial of Destiny (6.4/10)
3. Last Crusade (7.9/10)
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark (7.9/10)
1. Temple of Doom (8.2/10)
Average: 7.3/10
Here is my ranking. There are no bad Indiana Jones movies in my opinion.
5. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
4. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
3. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark
1. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Last Crusade and Raiders are the best adventure movies of all time. Dial of Destiny and Temple of Doom are interchangeable. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is watchable, but it does not come close to recapturing the magic of the original trilogy!
Love how Indy Jones ranking mainly go either 4or 5 as worse and 4th and then 1or 3 battle for top but 99% of time temple is 3rd place
Temple of doom is my favourite movie of all time
@@stevenmcburney8167same!
Your rankings sound perfect
1. The Last crusade 10/10
2. Raiders of the lost ark 9/10
3. The kingdom of the crystal skull 7/10
4. The Dial of Destiny 6.5/10
5. Temple of doom 5/10
Kingdom of the crystal skull was one of my favorite movies when I was a young kid growing up. I haven’t seen it in a few years but it’s my favorite Indy movie. I know it’s not “the best” but nostalgia is one hell of a drug
same! your not alone. dial of destiny is 100 times more worse than that one, the gap is significant
I saw Raiders on original opening in 1981 and I love Crystal Skull. You're not wrong!
1. The Last Crusade-9.5/10
2. Raiders Of The Lost Ark-9/10
3. Temple Of Doom-8/10
4. Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull-6/10
5. The Dial Of Destiny-4/10
5. Dial of Destiny- Gonna see it soon.
4. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull- very rewatchable film but why would you have Lebouf swing with monkeys? It just doesn't fit with anytime in the franchise.
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark- Truck heist scene still ranks as my favorite Indiana Jones fight.
1. Last Crusade- This movie had everything. Love, Family. Origin story. Adventure. Past characters reunited. And a very satisfying victory for the protagonist. He saves his father and rides off into the sunset cliche ending as an immortal because he drank from the cup. This was the ending of the franchise. I loved Indiana Jones but the story was over. He won. Nazis 0 for 2. Done.
3. Temple of Doom- Not sure how my notes got lost but what I was saying was that Willie is insufferable but it adds to the story and to Jones's character development. This is a classic IJ adventure but with a lot of gross elements to it. I've been desensitized to most of it but I just can't get past the worms and eyeball soup.
1. Temple of doom
2. Kingdom of the crystal skull (bring it on haters lol)
3. Raiders of the lost ark
4. The last crusade
5. Dial of destiny
I agree with the ranking here.
I rewatched the films leading up to Dial of Destiny. Funny enough, I've only watched Last Crusade once before and never saw Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
I liked Last Crusade much better than I remember and was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. I felt Temple of Doom aged somewhat poorly but really put Harrison Ford's charisma on center stage. Crystal Skull wasn't bad and Shia and Harrison had good chemistry. Cate Blanchatt is a good villian but the alien plot line was a bit hokey and some of the action sequences were silly, even for Indiana Jones.
Dial of Destiny was a solid film, though I thought it showcased the other actors better than Harrison Ford, who came across as just tired and haggard with no charisma. I did enjoy the ending though.
1) Temple of doom. Just my personal favorite. It's so gritty, chaotic, and fun. I can deal with willie's screams
2) Raiders of the lost ark. I'd say objectively the most iconic. It set the bar. Indy and marion were S-tier
3) The last crusade. Another fun epic. Maybe the most memorable death in the OG trilogy. "He chose.....POORLY."
4) The kingdom of the crystal skull. The aliens were a polarizing choice. That and an old indy, but that can't be helped. Still, as a time killer, I've seen worse. It was nice they brought marion back. I haven't seen dial of destiny as of yet
Fair enough. I think indy shooting the swordsman is more iconic tho
@@bestfifaclips3966 Love that scene lol
I really enjoyed Indiana Jones and the dial of destiny and it felt like a classic Indiana Jones film!
Same
yes, don’t understand all the hatred on youtube, it’s like people are trying to get lots of views and likes for their channel by being as hateful as possible and going over the top having a go at Waller-Bridge , Kennedy and the director. Also I know woke in these times and this movie ain’t woke like some are taking so much pleasure in saying. Not a perfect film and could have been better with less CGI , more exposition and less chases but it was overall good with some excellent bits
Ok I honestly enjoyed Dial of Destiny like a 6.5/10
On the one hand it was really nice for a young guy like me to see Indy on the big screen. On the other hand it just felt really safe and like they were sort of phoning it in at some points.
Who else loves his costume 🤩
I like the first 3 so much. Last crusade will always be my favorite as we loved watching the banter between Sean and Harrison.
Indiana Jones holds a very special place in our families heart. Every summer we’d take our kids (who most are in their 20s) to my father in laws cabin and every time we’d watch Indiana Jones. My daughter loves the franchise so much she wants to name her first daughter Indiana.
In my opinion the last two should have never been made.
You have chosen wisely..

Although I haven’t seen the fifth movie, here is my ranking of all four
Temple of doom
Last Crusade
Raiders of the lost Ark
Crystal skull
I love all Indy films and I have the new Dial of Destiny but haven't gotten around to watching it yet. I hope to see you do a ranking video of The Naked Gun Trilogy. I miss Leslie Nielson RIP and I'm sure he would've been up for doing a fourth movie if he was still with us. Anyway heres my ranking:

Raiders of the Lost Ark
Temple of Doom

Dial of Destiny
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Ranking best to worst
1. Raiders of The Lost Ark
2. Temple of Doom (Willie is the only reason this film doesn't always stay in my number 1 spot. It's a great sequel to Raiders)
3. The Last Crusade
4. Indiana Jones And The Dial of Destiny (if they had recast with a younger swashbuckling Indy, this could have been a classic Indiana Jones film because this movie was a lot of fun, despite how unlikeable Phoebe Waller-Bridge's character was written.)
5. Indiana Jones And The Crystal Skull
That would be my ranking as well. Personally I really enjoyed Dial of Destiny. I thought it was a great final Indy film for Harrison Ford, I just wasn’t crazy about Phoebe Waller Bridge’s character as well as the ending.
@@cooperwolfe5478 Agreed! PWB's character was written really arrogant and unlikeable; and the ending was underwhelming.
@@ricardothompson2700 I think the big problem with the ending was that it seems that they had to change the original ending after it didn’t do well at test screenings and it certainly felt that way.
18:14 I’ve always been a little conflicted about what’s going on in this scene. I can never tell if Elsa gave him the wrong cup on purpose, or if it was a mistake and Donavan’s death was an accident. What do you think? 🤔
I believe the exact explanation is that she did it on purpose but she didn’t expect Donovan to literally crumble into dust before her eyes so it stunned her
@@samuelkondracki The only reason I’m on the fence on this answer is because I don’t know why she would betray Donovan in the first place. It would make sense though that she wouldn’t have expected the extreme aging.
@@80sGeekChris-dg7ky She wanted the grail for herself it's that simple lol
@@devanworkman8745 So she’s the corrupt version of Indy who would team up with and betray the Nazis to get an artifact?

For me, it’s:
5. Dial of Destiny
4. Temple of Doom
3. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark
1. The Last Crusade
My ranking list is easy for this series. It goes Raiders (my third favorite movie of all-time), Last Crusade, Temple of Doom, large chasm, Dial of Destiny and then Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. These back 2 could never compete with the original trilogy but I still enjoy them overall. Oh and I guess hot take but I don't mind Willie Scott's character. I think her being so whiny is funny.
